Dorna have just announced (http://www.motoreview.net/news/misc/2302bmw/) that they'll be continuing their BMW partnership for the next four years, meaning that once again there's a shiny new sports car for the quickest rider at the official test next month.

Who's your money on? Gibernau has always been a good qualifier, and Ducatis are usually good on the super sticky tyres, so maybe he could start his season with a bang. Equally I'd say Melandri and Hayden could be in with a fair shot, and of course there's the obvious choice with Rossi. Actually I don't think it's something I'd bet a penny on, way too many possibilities.

Any thoughts?

I think Pedrosa's got to be a good bet on the strength of the odds you'd get. But Melandri and Gibernau would be my thoughts. The Bridgestone qualifiers are real good and their wets are even better so that will please Gibernau although it's unlikely to be the case of a wet qualifying. Nicki Hayden at Laguna for sure but for the most part I'd say Melandri, Gibernau and Pedrosa in that order. Going to be a lot of great first corner clashes.

it will be either rossi or a ducati- i know a honda won't get it
ducati just work so well on stickies! even when they had a lame bike (preseason 05) they were fastest in tests. rossi because he is rossi

You'd rule out Melandri? Brave man. ;)

Just a few days to go 'til BMW number one gets a new owner and the official start of the season. :D

Eurosport are covering the main one hour session on Sunday at 1pm and most other TV networks with MotoGP coverage (sadly not including the BBC I don't think) should be showing it live/delayed too.
