Welcome to MotoGP Boards! Introduce yourself here so we can get to know you better. :)

I'm useless with introductions, but..

Hi.! I'm Andy, I'm 20 and I live in Sheffield, England. I'm not a MotoGP fan per se, and actually prefer to watch Formula One but I do watch the occasional race when they don't clash with one another. Nearly every time I watch, Rossi wins - is it any wonder he's been linked with a Ferrari F1 drive? ;)

I found the link on vbulletin.org, Dom was asking for feedback and I was looking for a new place to post at for motorsport discussion. I'm loving the smoothness of the style, and hope to see things progress! I'm always happy to lend a hand if needed..

Welcome to the forums, glad you like them. :)

I have to admit, I am a pretty big F1 fan myself and am more than happy to see any F1 posts in the general racing chat forum. Although it rarely (make that very rarely ) offers great racing from flag to flag it's hard not to appreciate the technology and sheer speed of the cars etc. I haven't really managed to keep up with the changes for next season but there certainly seems to be scope for a close championship and with every other team being new or rebranded it'll also be good to see where the chips fall. Of course it may all get very dull and repetitive after the first 3 races but there's always the politics to fall back on for the rest of the year.

Cheers for offering to help out also. I'm not certain what I'm going to do regarding promotion etc but there does seem to be a real lack of decent bike racing orientated boards out there and once the site and boards get bigger I will definitely need a hand, so I'll bear that in mind. :)

Alreet,
I am Anth, an 18yo "human bike-stand" from Co. Durham. Dad rides a Harley and teaches people to ride motorbikes while I am hoping to study Automotive Technology or Mechanical Engineering at Uni in September.

I grew up watching Foggy racing and crashing to put him out for ages in the Superbikes. Occasionally watch the races on TV, but Rossi winning so often is getting like the F1 (which I avoid) - monotonous :(

Like Andy, I came here from the vB.org forums (not a coder, just have a habit of spotting things that dont work) :)

Dom

Howdy Anth, cheers for signing up. :)

Fair point about Rossi being a predictable race winner, but there's plenty of action to be found elsewhere when he is having one of his 'just impossibly good' days (ok, so that is quite often). With any luck next season will be a closer one. I think some of the younger riders, especially Melandri, will be really taking the fight to Vale... well hope, but it doesn't seem all that far fetched.

And the F1 comparison's a bit harsh, MotoGP is still one of the most competitive forms of racing out there, it even has overtaking. ;)

And the F1 comparison's a bit harsh, MotoGP is still one of the most competitive forms of racing out there, it even has overtaking. Thats true - not many other races can have half a dozen people trying to overtake each other at once on a corner, like the first of the race :D

Sorry guys didn't see this thread until now. I'm Paul, I'm from Belfast. I'm 33 and been into bikes since a very young age. My Dad was big into roadracing here so I was always going to races since I was small boy. I raced for five years, two years on 600's and three on superbike/superstock. I haven't raced for two years now. Favourite riders - Capirossi, Schwantz and Haga in his early superbike years. I like getting to see a live round of the GP every year and for the past two years I've been in Catalunya and Assen. This year if we can afford it I'd love to go to Laguna, but we'll wait and see.

Good to see this board, hope it really grows.

Good to have you on board mate. :) When you mentioned you were from Belfast in another thread I was tempted to ask if you were into roadracing, it's definitely the place to be if you are. I've yet to get to a proper road race but in the next few years would love to watch the IOM TT, Northwest 200 or similar. Even just on a TV screen it's amazing to watch but I expect in person it's something else altogether.

Whereabouts did you race?

Never road raced, just at 'short circiuts' as we call 'em. Mondello Park, Kirkistown, Bishopscourt, Nutts Corner, Aghadowey. Most of them aren't great tracks, too short. A lap at Kirkistown was only 1.5 miles. Mondello is the only place over here comparable to the good British circuits, and my favourite as well, a real hard work and bumpy/twisty sort of circuit, you'll have seen the BSB boys there. You're never in top gear on a big bike but the racing is always close and fun. I got to race against Joey Dunlop a few times in the 600 class, I had the best seat in the house - behind him! Regular guy too. I miss racing every day. I could go on and on......

The best real road race over here IMO is the Ulster Grand Prix. Very fast and very dangerous, similar to the TT as far as type of roads and scenery goes but with a mass start, not against the clock, very exciting to see first hand. I spanner from time to time for a good mate who still road races when the missus lets him, it's a good buzz just to be involved.

I did wonder if you had roadraced because I have to admit I didn't really know there were more than a couple of 'proper' circuits in NI. I suppose there's an equivalent to the likes of Bemsee in the UK? I've never even placed wheels on a track yet but can completely see the appeal. About as expensive a hobby as you can come up with though. :(

Do you ride on the road at all? The couple of people I know that race from time to time do seem to have gone off the road a bit... just too tempting to go that bit too fast etc.

I suppose I should introduce myself now that I've found myself checking the site for new posts.. :P

Anyways

I'm from Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. I've been road racing for three years on a Honda RS125 GP bike. This year I've got a 2006 R6 to race Pro Supersport and Pro Superbike in both the AMCRA regional series, and the Canadian National series.

I've always been a fan of roadracing, and the MotoGP series is obviously my favorite. I've actually only ever been to one race, but the flight to Mugello was worth every single Canadian penny!

Nice to meet you guys.

Dom

Supersport and Superbike in two series in the same year? You must be a busy man!

Mugello's one of the races I'd love to make it to since there seems to be such a good atmosphere. I'm envious. :P

Anyway welcome again to the boards, do stick around as in a weeks time we'll even have something to talk about.

Howdy Dom & Gang 8O

I found this place via Glenn (GB24hours), a good mate and owner of the Gran Turismo By Numbers (http://www.granturismobynumbers.com/) forums.

My name is Ed (hence the avatar), and I'm a Gran Turismo junkie. I'm a moderator/admin at several Gran Turismo sites, and have been quite active in that community for several years, inlcuding OLR and iLink racing.

I picked up Tourist Trophy last night, and so far I'm loving it. Completely different than the rest of the GT series, of course, and it's been many years since I rode a bike; I had a Kawasaki 500 Triple back in my USAF days in the mid/late 70's out in New Mexico...scary, fun bike, but gave it up when I moved back to Florida after I got out of the Air Force. Anyway, I'm finding the TT learning curve pretty steep at this time, so I'm looking forward to picking up tips from the "experts" around here. ;)

I'm a huge motorsport fan...F1, CART, IRL, NASCAR, NHRA, MotoGP - if it has wheels and an engine, I'm there. (Ok, I have to draw the line at Lawnmower Racing - just a bit too silly, if you know what I mean)

Nice site here! Hoping to glean some good info on TT, as well as keep up with motorbike sports.

Cheers.

Dom

The more motorsport junkies the better! Make yourself at home. ;)

I was wondering if the learning curve for TT varies much depending on whether you're used to 'bike lines' or not. I found the game pretty easy to get to grips with, whereas I pretty much suck at Gran Turismo.

Just found this introduction thread after making a dozen posts..

I'm a New Zealander living on the coast a litle south of San Francisco. Been here for about 5 years. Had a fair few bikes back in NZ, was heavily involved in racing for quite a while. My local track was Ruapuna, which was where the Britten was developed, and in fact I saw that thing go from a droop-nosed bitsa to a fire-breathing BOTT winner. Shared track time with it and always liked being around John Britten, hoping his magic dust would rub off on me. Never did, he was a very focused chap.
Bikes owned:
Yamaha YB100 (totalled)
Suzuki GT250X7 (blown up)
Suzuki GSX400X (totalled)
Suzuki GSX750SX 'pop up' Katana (lovely)
Honda NV400SP (crap)
Suzuki GS1000S (lovely)
Suzuki RM125 (bad idea)
Yamaha AG175 (cheap toy)
Kawasaki G3/G4 'bucket racer' Special (brilliant fun)
Yamaha RD350B/400D hodgepodge Special (totalled)
Yamaha XS750 Cafe Racer Special (never quite finished)
Yamaha XZ400 (capable)
Honda CBX550 (able)
Suzuki GS500 Special (giant killer)

My cobber raced a series of RGV250s and GSXR400s, we travelled all over the country for various series.

Haven't had a bike since moving to the Bay Area, too bloody dangerous out there on the freeways!

Hi All, My name is Don, and I hail from Sunny South Africa. Port Elizabeth.
Nice to have other people to chat to that share a common interest.
In a nutshell, I love MotoGP, and have followed nearly every race since about 1989. For obviuos reasons, I grew up a major Schwantz fan. I've owned all sorts of bikes, and raced for several years. Short Circuit 50cc to 250 productions. Due to lack of finance and other demographic reasons, my racing career ended, but mainly as a result as my sponsor decided he would pump all his money in to himself to race. HA HA HA, that's life.

Anyway, I am not a big F1 fan ( Sorry Andy and co. but not enough passing, raw courage, and on edge stuff for me). I'm the type of guy who would race 50cc's for the rest of my life, if it meant that we were racing on edge and doing passing monouvers every lap.

I can not believe how time fly's, and Rossi is already heading for number 8. It fealt like just the other day I was watching him in 125's. My opinion is that he should not go to F1, and should take Jerry with him to Suzuki. Ha ha ha, ya right. But that would be nice to see.

Anyway. Thanks for the opportunity to intro myself. I look forward to hearing from you all. Thanks for the board Dom, lets make it work.

Cheers 4 now
Don

That's quite a list Aly! No nice roads around SF tempting you back towards two wheels? ;)

Don, welcome to the forum. :) I've already managed to confuse your name with mine once and you've only made a single post, but I'm sure I'll get used to it. Rossi on a Suzuki would be quite something and I'd love to see it. With all the new competition in MotoGP I wonder if even #46 would stand a chance on a Suzuki against the all new Honda youth group?

I found myself daydreaming a while back about Rossi and Burgess going to Suzuki.

Actually I'm fairly hopeful for Suzuki in the 800 class, I would imagine they'll go to a transverse 4 which they are so good at developing. Can't wait for the unveiling of the various factory bikes later in the year!

Don
18-04-2006, 08:00 PM
Well, I think if Vale & Jerry had to make the jump to Suzuki, I would get the best of both worlds. Vale winning & on a SUZUKI !!, but, I guess we have to be realistic here, the chances of this ever happening are min. Anyway, we can dream. I would be just as happy if he went to Ducati, but Capirex is doing one hellava job at the moment, so hats off to the tiny Italian with a BIG heart!!
I must say that it was also mighty nice to see Casey Stoner on pole and leading the race for a while in Qatar. I would presume that fitness (lack there of) eventaully became the factor for him. Guys like Nicky are starting to settle in to handling the machine the full race distance, and it would appear that he has now got the confidence to "pass back". It's taken him a while to do this, but he is still young, and no doubt will entertain us more this year.

Regarding the Honda "Youth" group, I think that when you have raw talent, and natural ability to out manouvre most, it sometimes doesn't matter what you ride. As long as your heart and mind are "IN IT". I recall Revvin Kevvin once saying that it was possible to win a race in slippery tyres, from fifth place, on an uncompetitive machine, - " If you believe" - and of course have the talent and skill.
I like Pedrosa, and wouldn't mind seeing him do well, or Hayden, but more than that, I always cheer for the underdog to pull through, and wouldn't it be nice to just once see a Vermuelen, Hopkins or Stoner on top.

Anyway guys, nice to log on this week and see some responses. Keep m comin. I'll check again next week.

PS - I currently ride a 1999 GSXR750 SRAD, the Fuel Injected Model. She goes very well, and over the weekends, keeps up with most K5's and drills some of the Kawa's.

I don't think Nicky's had a problem with race distance at all for quite some time, but I completely agree on the confidence side of things. Well, whether it's confidence or just determination I don't know, but in the past he has been a bit lacking and hopefully as this year continues we'll see a couple more race wins.

On the machinery side of things I could be wrong but I would say anyone on a Honda has a bike they could win races with. I'm not really convinced that any of the Kawasaki or Suzuki riders could win this year, heart and mind or not. I mean if when Rossi made the switch to Yamaha, who were not as far off the pace as say Suzuki, he had a difficult time of things. For sure the rider can make a huge difference to the package and even win races when he hasn't got the best bike on the grid, but being I don't think it would possible on a bike that is that far off the mark (no disrespect to any of the teams though!).

Oh, and nice bike. ;)

Well, I have been away for a while, and since, have had a new addition to my family. My first son was born last Wednesday. Joshua. He is beautiful, and God has blessed me greatly.
As much s I am enjoying him in his infancy, I am already shopping around for a new little mini moto or small bike to get him riding within the next few years. Any suggestions on god makes / manufacturers or bike types for beginners?

The Race - Well, what a cracker of a race. I have become a Casey Stoner fan, and the kid has continued to impress. It's nice to see that he was not just a one hit wonder, and now we kow that he has the skill to take on the more established boys.
In retrospect, I wonder if Vermuelen or Hopkins were on Honda's, what the story would look like.
As much as I enjoy watching the young guns coming through at such a good result, I hope that Honda do not slip back in the over powering dominent seat. Oh how I wish that Suzuki & kawasaki could come to the party.

On that topic, it was nice to see those Suzuki boys at the top of the field!! Well done boys!! Vermuelen showed class, by not only staying at the front pack for a while, but unlike his teamate, maintained some stability and rode it home to a respectable position.
Lets hope we that the Hopper wll tke a page out of the Vermuelen book, and not burn his tyres out next time. Mind you, that could also be down to suspension set up.

I was a bit dissapointed that Casey didn't hang on for the win, but was delighted at his first podium finish.
Casey, you keep it up lad, well done, lots of maturity for his age, and it will come.

I wa watching last years race at Assen, and couldn't help but notice that Casey was having a lot old chat with Jerry Burgess whilst Rossi was celebrating his win. Could Jerry be sliping some tutoring to the young Aussie on the side?

Anyway, lets see what the next race brings, and if Rossi can return (once again) to the top.

Sorry I haven't gotten around to this earlier, so here goes...
My name is Geoff, currently residing in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. I've been riding a couple of years, but only Harley-Davidsons. I've always wanted to ride Sport bikes, but in my area, we're flooded with people who don't respect their bike or other people on the roads. I'm going to wait until I have a little more experience at a "H-D" pace before I end up hurting myself or someone else. The second option is finding a place without so much congestion, and riding on roads with hills and curves, something South Florida doesn't offer.
At 33 years old, I'm still an avid gamer (PS2 and PC), when 55-65 hours a week and a great girlfriend allow for it. I also have the great fortune of having sold my softail to a friend who lets me ride it from time to time, until I replace it with something else.

And Congratulations Don!!

Really love the 600cc and 500cc since the mid 80's till now. Would like to see racing on tv but with no cable or satelite, all i can watch is formula 1 and suberbike (AMA) racing once every two months. My idol is Miguel Duhamel (probably because is from my living place). And Congratulations Don for the new boy !

Hey guys, you all can call AJ if you'd wish. I'm 18 y.o.a. I dont ride motorcycle, but I would really like to some day, it's just that Florida isnt the place to drive or ride. I watch MotoGP, SBK, F1 ,INDY, CART, AMLS, and sometimes the Rolex series. I also love watching the Isle of Mann every year.

I play TT, as I just bought it. So far I'm doing really well. I started out in the PS TT Forums, then ran into GTP forums, and now I'm here. I few people I know at the PS TT forums call me the 'Ring master' because of my times. Anyways, I hope to meet you all.

Hi All, just reading through this thread its great to see all the racers and racing fans :)
I picked up TT a couple of days ago and it looks like a great game that I will spend many hours playing.
I'm studying for my second mates foreign going ticket in the merchant navy and am currently on a coastal cement ship in New Zealand as the Ferry company that I work for has released me to gain experience.
I am a Gran Turismo fan and have represented my home board GTTimes in competition against the other boards, study and work commitments are keeping me away from that till the end of the year when I earn my qualifications. I recognise StormRyder from GTPlanet and of course NoQuarter who has been around the GT scene for a few years now.
I haved race motorcycles in the Nationals here in New Zealand and have raced a TZ250GP bike, a GSXR600cc in Sports Production and an RGV250. I am looking forward to getting back on the race track again next year once I have finished my current studies.

I have owned a multitude of bikes including C90, TS50, RD350YPVS, FZR600, XJR...blah....blah..loadsa others...all the way up to my current mount a Fireblade. if tourist trophy is as close to bikes as youve got...take a leap and try it, but be warned they're more infectious than STD's
I adore MotoGP and WSB especially now Rossi is on the back foot (never forgiven him for defecting from Honda ;) ) well im at work so thats all for now. so keep smilin guys and gals it makes everyone wonder what the hell your upto!:P

Mornin' adifferentname, cheers for signing up. That's a decent selection of bikes you've raced - is there much on offer in NZ as far as road racing goes?

Thanks Dom :)

Yup there are some very talented racers in NZ. The Australian Superbike Champion raced in the most recent Nationals here and was beaten by our local superbike champion in the series. The 600cc supersport class here is exciting. You couldn't make a living out of it here though, our top racers still have to carry a normal job. One of our circuits Taupo has had a major upgrade and it looks like we may be hosting a round of MotoGP there next year.

man, two years ago, the FIA was thinking about having a gp event at barber motorsports park, in birmingham, alabama. its a real sweet track, and it would be great...for some 600's. in reality, the track is way too small for motogp bikes. eventually, they decided on laguna...

Hi - I'm Andy from Newcastle - I'm neither skinny nor a hippy - I'm actually a big fat skin head but you'll get the joke i'm sure.

Love bikes in all forms mountain biking - trailies - hogs - road bikes - race bikes blah blah blah.......any thing with 2 wheels basically.

I live North East England and can usually be found trying (and failing) to get my knee down around the Scottish borders.

If you see me be sure to wave.

One of the better screen names I've seen in a while then.

I can't help but be a bit envious of anyone with half a chance of blasting around the twisties oop North on the weekend - it's not that the roads down here are no good, just that they're all full. So what do you ride?

Matt W.
29-06-2006, 02:17 AM
It looks like I'll be posting a little here so might as well introduce myself.

My name is Matt. I live, love, think, breathe and shit motorcycles. Plain and simple. Always have, and always will. Quite frankly it's a addiction. Sometimes I want to quit, but I can't. It's who I am. Period. Without motorcycles, there is no Matt W. I am 26 years old, and am married. No kids. Not planning on one until I can afford to put the little bastard on a YSR50 and make him into the next Rossi...

I commute on a Honda 599 {Hornet for you Brits}. I have a '98 ZX-6R track bike that has been giving me fits lately. I love riding on the track. I've done some pretty good drugs in my day, and it's still the ultimate high. I work at a motorcycle shop as a punching bag for callaghan. Good friend of mine and the one that's responsible for me posting here in the first place.

Anyways, hello. And if you see a 599 passing people faster than fook, with the name "FATTY" on the back, it wasn't me.:shifty: Unless a red R6 followed immidiately afterwards...

Hi guys. I'm a noob. My name is Scott, I'm in my (reluctantly) early 30's. I'm a semi-pro musician / mix-engineer / producer.

I've been riding nearly my whole life. No competition experience on 2 wheels, but I've got a substantial amount of track time in a cage. I've got a prepped '91 VW GTI for that.

My bike is a '74 CB550 which is a rolling resto at the moment. It's modded in the vintage racer / cafe style.

welcome to the boards. those are great cars, eh? prepped? full cage, and slicks type, or just like weekend autocross? hope you like it here.

volthause
08-07-2006, 05:55 PM
Thanks Call. The GTI is prepped for open track events / track days. Full cage, 5 points, race seats etc. Mostly run DOT race rubber, like Hoosier R6 or Kumho V700's.

I do some autocross, but not in that car. The level of prep puts it in a class where it is completely uncompetative.

Thought I'd better say hello to everyone. Aussie. 52 years old. Been riding bikes since I was 16. Roadtested bikes for magazines from 1978-1990, so rode just about everything that came along during that time. As a result I didn't need to own many bikes, but in order of ownership, from the first bike in 1971, they have been...

BSA250 - easily the worst bike I ever owned, complete rubbish
RD350 Yamaha - fast, fun, but someone stole it
GT250 Suzuki - never as fast as a Hustler, sorry I bought it
HondaCB250RS - sweet little city bike (a single)
HondaCX500 - ultra-reliable, with very ordinary handling above 130km/h
BMWR100 - owned this low-compression 1000cc tourer for many years, did many miles on it too; sold it when I went overseas, sorry to see it go
Honda 125cc scooter - got back from London, bought this first day because I couldn't find a Vespa, wore it out in the inner-city rat race in 10 months, had heaps of fun on it
MZ250 - East Germany's finest! Quirky, simple and it ended up being fun.
Yamaha RZ350 - a long, long history; the 'town bike', everyone I knew at some stage owned and rode this good old thing.

Then I got married, kept on riding the magazine bikes for a while, but lately I just watch them on the TV, in the streets and dream. When I pay the mortgage off I'll probably get another Beemer and disappear on a long road somewhere.

I've played Gran Turismo heaps, still do. But I'm enjoying TT enormously. It's not as good a rendition of bike-riding as Gran Turismo is a rendition of car-racing, but it's the best bike sim I've come across.

welcome. this is very true. i had the gt force wheel, and it was extremely close to real driving. i agree that gt was better/more realistic than TT is, but like you said, its the best ive come across for a console. i think SBK for the PC has it beat physics wise...

Hello everybody. My name is Mike and I'm a Moto-holic. Basically, I am obsessed over anything to do with two-wheels. I follow Motogp and WSBK religiously, if only they would cover more motorcycle racing over here in the US.

When I'm not working third-shift, I'm riding around on my zx-10r trying to not let it kick my ass  God knows it's tried. I never really got into GT but TT grabbed me and pulled me in. If you all don't mind, I might try my hand at the championship even though it's nearly over.

spire, if you have an '06 zx 10, check your steering damper bolt. they had a recall on it, but it was just basically to make sure it was tight. the '05 didnt have this issue. just thought i would give you the heads up.

p.s. dont tighten it yourself, as it need to be at a specific torque, and it is easy to over torque it.

Thanks Dom. Your bike is looking pretty tight as well. Have you modded it out at all? The SV's have a mean bark with some open pipes on em.

Also, thanks for the warning Callaghan. I'd heard about some ppl having issues with that and the dampers leaking on the '06.

Luckily I have an '04 so I only had to deal with a front wheel recall

Dom
17-07-2006, 09:19 AM
Cheers. I've got a few mods on the SV including a full Micron system (WHAT? YEAH, IT IS LOUD!) a black db screen, some R&G bungs (thankfully unused so far ;)) and a different undertray. Oh and some mini-indicators on the back.

There's nothing too OTT on there and I reckon that overall it is an improvement on the standard SV.

Btw - ZX10... green? ;)

Hi everyone, the name's Fivespeed. I'm a student in North Florida and I ride dirtbikes, but I'm set to take a motorcycle safety course quite soon so my license can be reissued with those lovely little words added onto the bottom ("Motorcycle also") and I can buy either a GSX-R 600 or a Yamaha R6, either of which would be used ('04+) for obvious reasons. I'm about to get a WRX (NOT an STi) so I won't have to rely on the bike for transportation. I have a couple friends who are buying bikes also, one who's getting a brand new '06 CBR600RR and two others who are getting Gixxers.

I'm also a big fan of Gran Turismo and Tourist Trophy, and I'm a regular on a few other forums and sites on the web. My favorite car is the Mazda RX-7 (FD) and my favorite bike is the Suzuki GSX-R 750.

I don't watch MotoGP, maybe I should start?

Guess I should've posted in here first rather than other forums, but anyway..

Hi I'm Phil from Kent, England (just a couple of miles from Brands Hatch :D ), age 19, though spend most of the year in Southampton for Uni. Have been brought up around bikes thanks to my dad, some of my earliest memories are from bike meetings, my favourite riders past and present being Schwantz, Rossi, Melandri, Spencer and of course Mr Sheene. Plus Terry Rymer as he's a local guy, used to see him around town a lot.

Have never owned a bike as I'm a pikey student with little/no spare money, but hopefully after leaving Uni I'll get an RS125 or something and start working up

Have only had the game a couple of weeks but have been checking back here now and again so guessed it was about time I signed up :)

The bike is my passion, and Tourist Trophy is one of my favourite game/simulation.

My other interests are pc racing car simulators (GTR, GTL, rFactor... I run some online championship with them) and playing guitar.

I'm 55, from Northern California (originally upstate New York). I'm more of a car guy, but I have owned a couple of bikes in the last few years. I sold the last a few years ago in order to mod my WRX and make it trackworthy, but I'm starting to really get the itch for two wheels again.

As for games, I'm a big fan of Forza and the GT series. Well, racing games in general. Looking forward to Forza2 and GTR on the 360. Just bought Tourist Trophy this week and first impression is very favorable. Welcome to MotoGP Boards! Introduce yourself here so we can get to know you better. :)

Hi!

Here is Andy from germany. I am 44 but still a speed junkie and adicted to motorcyling. My bike is a GSX-R 1000 K6. I found the board because I was looking for more information about the game "Tourist Trophy". It´s one of my favourites. Beside I like to play Moto GP4 and Grand Tourismo 4. Generelly I´m interessted in every race game. I play everything on PS2 and looking forward to PS3.

It´s interessting for me to see what other players can do on different tracks.
On TV I like to watch Moto GP, Superbike and F1.

My profession is driving instructor in my own school. So I´m always connected to cars and motos, even in my job.

hi there,

stumbled across your site after picking up a promo copy of TT and i have to say i like the set-up you guys have here.

My names Tone, i live in the swampy outback of Norfolk and have been into bikes/racing/basically anything with an engine since i can remember, i run a small reprographics place and build custom cycles for people who wave enough notes at me, otherwise i just do it for the hell of it.

i am not a dedicated fan of any particular area of motorsport, rather i like ALL motorsport, except perhaps F1 Grand Prix which i feel got stale years ago, moto-x, cannonball, touring cars, love it all.

just hope i don't suck too badly at the TT game on PS2 :)

I have been fortunate enough to attend Donington for the last two years (yep - even in the rain) and attended Sachsenring this summer. Got the Sachsenring tickets for next year already and am looking at another European track (possibly Assen) for next year.

Anyway, on the back of starting to follow the sport I have passed my bike test and now ride a stunning R1 and a ZX6R.

I am an IT manager by profession so happy to help with tech support if needed as I am also an administrator over at yamahasportbike.net another forum (and I recognise the shameless plug) but different subject matter.

Assen! I've said this before on here but for atmosphere you can't get better, the whole town turns into a festival. Shame they've gone and ruined the circuit for a bloody car park :@

I'm looking at Brno, though I wanna go back to Italy for the football as well. So much better and cheaper abroad, a 3 day ticket at Le Mans is only 60E. It's 60 odd quid at Donington just for the Sunday! Anyways, welcome :)

Hi..I'm Nicholas,I'm a biker from Indonesia...that's really nice for u all,you can watch many racing (although in TV) like TT race or else. In my country,we only can watch Moto GP,F1,and WSBK,but we as Indonesian people have a bike race it self,it call GP road race..in this race we can't find any bike like in your country like "Gixxer" or Yamaha R1:( we race use a bike wehat we call "Cub"..and the sportbike race the engine capacity on allowed 150cc {I believe you'll never hear this bike:Kwak Ninja 150,Suzy RGR 150,NSR 150R (only one "R" not RR or SP like in the Thai) and Yamaha RXZ 135.} ..In Indonesia, you'll never find a big circuit like Le mans in France or Donington park in GB. we only race in small circuits and sometime in the street...:? You must go to Indonesia to see this amazing race...8O

last..I wanna said...I'm sorry if my English soooo BADDD:cry: ...

Hey everyone. As you can see, I'm from Wisconsin. I'm a 20 year old college student, and I've been watching MotoGP for 3 or 4 years now. Of course Rossi amazes me the most of anyone on the grid, but of course we all know that they're all amazingly talented, so it's kind of tough to pick a favorite.

I know a decent amount about MotoGP, but I'd definitely like to know more, which is of course part of why I'm here!

Hi Everyone

MotoGPForum.com Past
I was the GAMEZONE STAFF on the MOTOGPFORUM until I decided to leave because of what happened there (which was mainly my fault for playing 'mind games' with this other member and getting them wound up. ) Don't worry, I only did that because of how the forum was running, not too well at that time so I decided to stuff them and leave. That was around 2 months ago now, and I have came across this forum which looks superb and has potential to be a very big Moto GP forum.

About Me
My name is Alex and i'm 15 years old and live in England. I'm 5'9'' tall, have medium/bushy length very dark brown hair which I style 'messy'.:P

I'm a big motorsport fan, whether it be Moto GP or Formula 1, I love it! I'm a big Valentino Rossi fan, which means I call Pedrosa 'Pedrobot' and make him my no.1 public enemy.;)

Well that's it from me for now, I hope to see you around!

I have all of the MotoGP games and am going to watch the race at Donnington in two weeks, hopefully the rain will stay abscent allowing the riders to put on a good performance and hopefully give some good results!! Come on FIAT Yamaha!!!

I've got TT for almost a year now and I really like it, but I just found this forum last week and I registered right away. That's about it I guess. If you've got any questions, feel free to ask.

Thanks.

Yeah, usually the motoGP races are more exciting than the F1, but the rain in the first lap really changed that. The laguna race wasn't the most exciting race i've seen, but I have to say Melandri did a great job with his injuries.

Jonathan Rea is a brilliant looking youngster too (though a bit older), can see him having more of an impact in future years on the world scene.. though most likely in WSB :(

He sure is... there hasn't been too much coverage on how/what James Toseland has been doing here in the states. Seems like Edwards is up to his old tricks (doing really well during the post season). What do you think is the Pedrosa being ahead of Rossi the new bike or has Michelin come up with some better tires already?

imo, bridgestone has the competition beat. there is just nothing michelin can do right now to match B's performance. even rossi is going to ride bridgestone next year, and his teammate will ride michelin. pedrosa, as much as i dislike the midget, has a lot of natural talent, but he needs to refine some other skills, like setup and stuff. on equal bikes, rossi wins.

Hi, I'm Catty,
I'm from Sydney, Australia. Huge motogp fan, love talking about it... am forum hunting to find a cosy place where I can crap on about the races.
I'm a Rossi fan, the other riders... I can take em or leave em. Don't really have a next favourite. I like to trash them all, or love them... I go race by race. At the moment, haven't much time for Colin, Tosserland or Jorge. Dani... ah, he's not a bad stick. Nicky seems to have become deadwood.
I'm very anti TC, think the 800s are a bit of a wank (not sure if this constitutes inappropriate language... guess I'll find out!), and am currently wondering what on earth Ducati have done to their GP8 to make it so baaaad.

Don't watch superbikes. Just love the motogp!

hey,
this is Wes from Ontario Canada. my dad and i build custom harleys, plus some amateur racing and i run a health food store full time. i have been watching bike racing ever since i can remember. my favorites as a kid were Wayne Rainey and Kevin Schwantz. i know they were arch rivals but i just can't pick a #1. i am a Valentino fan, not only because he knows how to win but because no matter what he can adapt and get the best out of the motorcycle he is on. can't say that about many others. reminds me of stories of King Kenny(though he was a bit before my time).

I enjoy Motogp, WSB and American SB. i think everyone should watch it once and they'll be hooked.

just to clarify i said i work on and build them and though i do own one that i built i wouldn't call myself a fan:lol:. they have probably made me cuss and swear more then any other type of motorcycle over the years. i am a big Yamaha and Honda fan but i think all the Japanese manufacturers make models that i like. if i had my pick right now though i would have a Triumph 675. what a bike!

also, i would build japanese bikes but they are much harder to improve on. harleys have LOTS of room for improvement.

No beards or acetylene lamps but I do go back a bit and raced Manx Nortons in the Surtees/Halewood era, 1957 and '58 to be precise, and rode in 2 Manx Grand Prix and the 1958 North West 200; gentle touring compared with what you lot get up to today. I watch F1 for the soap value and MotoGP for the racing, and like the technology of both. 3-axis gyros on bikes, what is the world coming to.

Hi everybody,

This is Mar, a twenty-four year-olded girl from Spain who is into bikes since childhood (I love them). About my favourite rider... Can't choose only one. I've many favourites, it depends on the stage.

From the past I like Ángel Nieto, Jorge Martínez "Aspar" and Ricardo Tormo. From the last decade, Max Biaggi, Álex Crivillé and Mick Doohan were the best under my point of view.

From the present, Valentino Rossi is actually the king of Moto GP. Jorge Lorenzo is great too (the Fiat Yamaha Team has been very strong this season). Also I want to add to my list these names: Carlos Checa and Sete Gibernau. Three fantastic and experienced riders (nowadays, Carlos Checa is in the SBK Championship).

About 125 cc and 250 cc, Álvaro Bautista, Mika Kallio, Sandro Cortese, Gabor Talmacsi, Hugo Van den Berg, Héctor Faubel, Héctor Barberá, Hiroshi Aoyama, Thomas Luthi and Mattia Pasini.

Ah, I forgot. An especial mention to Daijiro Kato.

Dom

Hi Mar, welcome to the boards. :) Looks like you're in luck as it was announced earlier today that Gibernau's coming back on a Ducati next year (perhaps not such a big surprise).

I'm definitely looking forward to seeing the one guy that got to Rossi back on track again. I hope he keeps a lid on the whinging though. ;)

Yeah, Dom!

Sete is back again. He was the only rider who made impossible Valentino's life in the years 2003 and 2004. I was present in that polemic race (Gran Premio Marlboro de España 2005 in Jerez de la Frontera) in which Rossi won in the last lap. I hope Gibernau is coming back in good spirits...

I can't wait to see the beginning of the next season! ;)

It'd be good to see more than one Ducati at the front, that's for sure. I hope for Gibbers' sake that he doesn't do a Melandri. :?

Hi, I'm Luis I'm from the United States. I love anything that deals with racing, but I have to admit it, MotoGP got me into racing. My favorite rider used to be Nicky Hayden until he won in 2006 I got really mad because he beat the "MAN", so I realized that my favorite was Rossi.

Winchester? I'll have to keep an eye out for you on the 272 then. I used to have an RS125 - seriously fun little toys - I'd love an RS250 one day.

Welcome to the boards.

Hello everyone, I am Hub from Savannah Ga, USA and a huge MotoGP nut. Hate Dani Pedro with a passion (even before I knew what a complete *&^% Puig was). Enough about that , also a big fan of WSB and occasionally watch the Mladin/Spies championship when I am bored.
51 years old and manage a dealership here in Savannah and currently very much enjoy the smallest motorcycle I have ever owned (08 Kawasaki Ninja 250)
