Tobacco brand Camel has today (Tuesday) released a statement which appears to signal the end of Max Biaggi's MotoGP career, since it officially confirms that they have been unable to find a ride for him in the 2006 world championship.

In the statement, Camel criticises Honda for an "unacceptable" veto which prevented Biaggi riding for the Honda Pons team next year and states that "various, decisive and inexplicable" obstacles - combined with a lack of "sporting spirit" - then prevented a deal being struck to run Biaggi with any other manufacturer (a third factory Kawasaki was thought most likely).

Not too surprising given Max's performance this year, but it will be odd not having the fella about. What's the verdict: Sad to see him go or glad to be rid of him?

sad to see him leave bikes overall.
he is stupid at times-like being silly at assen with melandri and battaini-fighting and knockign people off.
hes best when he keeps his mouth shut
it would have been great if he went to wsb though. shame he couldnt get in. im sure he would still get beaten sometimes though! at least he couldnt blame the tyres!:D

 True, although he'd probably still find something. ;) He obviously really pissed off the top brass at Honda, because Camel did seem keen to sponsor him and you can imagine the kind of money they would've been able to put on the table to smooth things along.

Couldn't agree more, would have loved to see him in WSB, would be kind of his 'last stand'.I was there when he fell off going into the stadium area in Catalunya in 2003 and the cheer from the crowd was deafening.
