View Full Version : So who fancies some 'multiplayer'?

Now quite a few people have got the game, who fancies setting a bike and venue so we can compare some times? I haven't had a good look around yet but it should be possible to save the replays to a USB stick so we can all get a look at the fastest laps as well as the most useless (me! :D).

HHmm.. this may work if we can transfer replays/fastest laps.. and then load them as Ghosts to race against. :)

I think I’ve found a solution to sharing ghost laps, but it requires an additional purchase ($20 US).

The product is called Code Breaker (http://www.cmgsccc.com), and it has more to do with cheat codes than anything else. I guess there is a big market for cheating PS2 games? The cheats in GT involve bypassing the license requirements and changing the number of laps in the endurance races. I do not know of any cheats for TT, yet, but cheats that do emerge will not make you faster.

Okay, enough about cheating. The one thing that is appealing about Code Breaker is it will copy any saved file from your PS2 memory card to your USB stick, and vise-versa. For example, I could save my best lap (time trial mode) on any given bike and track, turn off the console and replace the TT disk with the code breaker disk, fire up the console and copy the file to my USB stick. Once it’s on the stick we could upload it somewhere for sharing. After you download the file to your USB stick, you would have to use code breaker to copy the file to your PS2 memory card for use.

Sure seems like a lot of work to share a ghost lap. Too bad we do not have the option to save hot laps to USB like we do with the pictures. In fact, we should be able to save an entire race, not just a lap.

So, is it work all the trouble? To be honest, I do not think so. It offers little more than just posting your best time. :?

Mate that's some excellent sleuthing but you can actually save replays to USB straight from Tourist Trophy. :shifty:  I can't remember exactly where the setting is, but I think if you save a replay to the memory stick and then go to the movie theater or whatever it's called there's an option to transfer replays to USB and vice versa. :)

So all's needed is a bike and a venue. Suggestions?

Well, ya learn something new everyday. Outstanding!

I looked earlier but could not figure it out. Maybe its time to..., well, nope. Too much work to do today. Once I start playing the whole day is shot.

Actually that's not a lot of work at all, and those of us with SharkPort USB cable devices have been transfering PS2 Saves to PC for backup and sharing for years ;)

AR Max Drive should work as well.

I'm a real neophyte at this, but as soon as I get some seat time, I'll be up for some comps ;)
