The 750cc four cylinder is said to be the perfect engine configuration for a street oriented motorcycle. More specifically a 750 V4. It's not me saying this, I've read many comments by engineers, racers, and enthusiasts a like that say the same thing. But it seams that the directors at Polyphony missed the boat on this one. That sucks. I wanted my RC30, danm it.
I reckon a pretty big factor is that if you look at the models released by most manufacturers these days the 750s have really gone out of fashion. Hell it's just Suzuki doing the gixxer 750 these days really.
There is the NR 750 if you can get all golds on one of the licenses - RC45 posted some pics of it here (http://www.motogpboards.com/showthread.php?t=252&page=2#post496).
I agree it'd have been nice to see some more in-game though.

The only reason why the 750 has dwindled from existance is simply because there isn't a world level class for them.
Just think what would have happened to the 750's if the rules for WSB were reversed. 750 twins and fours, rather than 1000. Sure, having that extra 250cc's is great on the track, but not on road. I've seen many, many 750's and even 600's ride circles around the litre bikes, on the street. All that extra power doesn't do much for you.
But what I was saying was that PD left out a very historically signifacant part of motorcycle racing and motorcycles in general. I can't start going on about bikes they left out, everyone could think of a few bikes that they shouldn't have missed, but I'm still a bit ticked.
Well with MotoGP moving to 800cc bikes next year you never know, we could see some more sports bikes in that sort of area. Obviously unlike WSB they'd wouldn't be sharing parts at all but from the marketing man's point of view it would still kind of make sense. I'd definitely be all for it.

Ducati has a 990cc V4 in production, right now. They sold out of all the Desmosedicci road bikes in a matter of minutes. It's gonna be a crazy bike. There are also rumours of Honda developing a V4 or V5 1000 road bike, as well. 8O
Also, the 800's won't last long. Dorna has slated a (hopefully last) displacement change for 2010. How's 600cc sound for a GP bike? :P

I think I might be reduced to tears if that happened.

as long as theyre the fastest road racing bike on two wheels, i dont care what cc they use :p
regarding the topic, there are more than just 3 quater litre bikes missing imo. i was really looking forward to the various RC's that won suzuka. the rc45 and rc51 to be exact. but, those are just the tip of the ice berg :|

I just wished that there were more modern era sportbikes. I mean they have multiple versions of a bunch of those vintage/streetbikes, but then only have one model year of bikes like the R1, GSXR, R6, etc...... For sure I wished they would have put in more of the Superbikes like the R7, RC45, RC51, etc..... Overall I think the game focused more the regular street bikes which i find strange given the track riding stuff.
I get the bad feeling that the next version will be worse (for me anyway) because it seems like the press and a lot of gamers a complaining about flash instead of substance. I mean I can tell you how many times I've read or heard people complain that the game is to short. Those who said that IMHO mainly play games just to finish them and don't worry about "mastering" the game. I mean there isn't anything wrong with that, but that isn't great for all types of games. TT has the making of a great game and series. I mean honestly the game is very good despite itself. I could spend the next couple of years just trying to get better times and constantly good times. It's why I can still play games like SBK 2001 and Sega Rally. But I can see PPD adding a ton more of stupid tests and locking even more of the game up.
I can tell you now that if the tests hadn't been as easy and short as they were I wouldn't have gotten as far as I have in the game. The only reason I did was because I wanted certain bikes and didn't know where they were. I'm at 72% complete and the chances of me getting further are slim because I have the stuff I want and now am only interested in getting good times.
sorry for the rant, but yeah I'd like to see more late model bikes, SBK bikes and such.
