I spotted a funny little press release a minute ago:

On March 28, 2006, there was a virtual game battle held in Roppongi Tokyo between seven different motorcycle manufacturers and their Japanese subsidiaries: Cagiva, Suzuki, Triumph, Harley Davidson, Honda, Yamaha and Ducati. The game is called "Tourist Trophy" and it is a newly released game from Sony Play Station2. In this battle, Team Ducati came no.1 winning the Championship for the night!!

In the first round, Team Ducati lost against the Team Yamaha but, in the consolation match, Team Ducati showed a powerful revenge and took control. After that, Team Ducati (999R) kept on winning until the final match against MV Agusta. (Cagiva). The final battle between two Italian Teams was held in the Valencia Circuit and MV Agusta was ahead, but only until the final lap…When everyone in the arena thought that Team Agusta would win the race, in the final lap, Team Agusta slid off the track, and Team Ducati started to catch up. This was when the supporters and the whole arena rose by a storm of excitement. In the final corner, Team Ducati unbelievably overtook Team Agusta and crossed the finish line. Team Ducati scored a dramatic come-from-behind victory!!!

Rider from Team Ducati, Kinoshita’s comment: "Since Capirossi won the MotoGP race last week, I really wanted to win the race. Every representative practiced a lot for this match. I was careful not to make even a little mistake because that was the most important thing in this game. I am glad that I won the race and give all my thanks to the supporters of the Team."

Whether they insisted all the riders sat in front of a PS2 dressed in full leathers I don't know, but it looks like it.

Nah, I found my tinted visor made it an absolute bitch to see what was going on indoors.

I do ride, but my "leathers" are of the dirt variety (nylon & Kevlar). My helmet has one of those visor things on it too.

Seriously, just moved to a rural area and have been itching to ride on the street. I did live in southern California, and riding on the street there is a bad idea.

Did have a Seca 550 in the early ‘80s. I had two friends killed within a week of each other many years ago, both on street bikes. One was just sitting at a red-light and was rear ended by a drunk guy. Dead at the scene. Sold the Seca shortly thereafter and have not been on a street bike since.

Now I can ride dirtbikes right out of my garage, but I’m too dang busy to have any fun. Lots of deer here, don’t want to hit one on a street bike (it would most likely hurt a lot).

(Realised after posting that that I've already watched the vids of you riding and you posted the pic of your old WR - doh )

Horrible situation to be in, I can imagine it would be hard to want to ride on the road after something like that. Two friends of mine have had fairly serious 'offs' in the past year but it hasn't really put me off at all, as lets just say I get the impression the blame probably wasn't (entirely at least) with a third party.

Anyway, bloody nice to be able to ride straight out of the garage and hit the tracks straight away, even if you do have to play dodge the deer.

Actually I was lucky not to hit a deer last summer. Was on the way to a web design client at about 8:40am or so and a little deer ran straight out of the car just in front of me and bounced right off their bumper. Of course the car didn't stop and then I couldn't get a phone signal (it was still alive and in the road). Really fun commute that day. :P
