If anyone has any thoughts on other ways each 'race' could be ran then I'm happy to hear it. :)

View Full Version : Championship Votage: Race setups Dom 27-04-2006, 04:36 PM If anyone has any thoughts on other ways each 'race' could be ran then I'm happy to hear it. :) Wizrad 27-04-2006, 05:56 PM Voted for the 3 lapper. I think that an average time over 3 laps would be better than just a 1 lap time. RC45 27-04-2006, 07:41 PM 99 laps? :P es nes 27-04-2006, 08:12 PM depends, is this for the tt championship? if so ill repost i what i posted there: 6 races with 3 races being hotlap and the other 3 being races no shorter than 5 laps. MotoDude 28-04-2006, 02:01 PM I’m still thinking on this one. One thing is for sure; they did not make it easy for us to do this kind of thing. In TT mode, we need more options besides practice, challenges, and preconfigured races. I would like to see a challenging competition of sorts, with plenty of opportunity to make mistakes. It should be difficult enough that you are proud of the time you post because it took you a long time to achieve. In any case, this is gonna be fun. Slow1 28-04-2006, 04:17 PM since we all will agree PPD didn't make TT easy to hold competitions with, I think the ideal thing would be to have a mixed format comp. I kind of had the same idea as es nes did in that at some tracks we could do races for a total time and others would be single lap flyers. This would offer a good mix for those who are good at single laps and those who are better at setting a consistant time. Plus it would be easy to verify without having to manually add up times and such. So for example, if we were to use the list of tracks that I suggested. With those ten half are included in the series races and the other half could be single lap flyers. So again it's a nice mix of different types of tracks and methods that shouldn't favor anyone or any bike in particular and would reward overall ability and consistancy of riders and machine. just my thoughts on this MotoDude 28-04-2006, 04:42 PM since we all will agree PPD didn't make TT easy to hold competitions with, I think the ideal thing would be to have a mixed format comp. I'm good with that. NoQuarter 01-05-2006, 12:42 PM Ditto that. 8O A mix of race lengths/scenarios gives different riders with different strengths a shot at points. Dom 01-05-2006, 07:58 PM Sounds good to me. 50% 1 lap, 50% 3/4/5 laps? MotoDude 01-05-2006, 08:03 PM Ten laps! (nice even number) ;) NoQuarter 01-05-2006, 08:18 PM Maybe the finale can be a 10 lap race. es nes 01-05-2006, 10:01 PM but, the only 10 lap races are the special machine races (and i prefer not to have to add up laptimes since math is worse than a foreign language to me) Slow1 01-05-2006, 10:16 PM I don't think we should make it "too" complicated. I mean I like variety, but.... I only mentioned the split format simply because the game won't let you run an actual race on any track you choice and on the flip side doesn't record total time if you do practice runs. arcade mode is to restricting....... so this way we could have a greater variety. but yeah the last thing I want to do is sit around and add up times . |
