Well we just need to decide on the tracks. Personally I'd be happy with the following, which is 100% Slow1's list only I put the Nurburgring in instead of Tokyo. ;) This is just a very rough list and any other suggestions are welcome. Since nobody's 100% in agreement on the laps, I've made it a mixture of 1-10 lap races so everyone's happy, in theory.

Rough Championship Calender

Laguna Seca - 5 laps
Mid Field Raceway - 10 laps
Trial Mountain - 1 lap
Motegi - 3 laps
Autumn Ring - 5 laps
Deep Forest - 1 laps
Grand Valley - 10 laps
Valencia - 3 lap
Suzuka - 10 laps
The Nurburgring - 1 lap

Bikes
I think we're now agreed that the 1000cc RM superbikes are the order of the day here. No Suzuka 8H bikes allowed.

Extras
One other thing - would people be happy if we made it 'pro' mode only? Personally I would prefer do that as it means everyone's on a level playing field. One other thought is tyres... I would say that this may as well be completely open as people's riding styles may vary enough that X lap races are doable on soft tyres for some but not for others etc etc.

Technicalities
I'm not certain what's the best way to ensure replays can be uploaded for each individual race. Do we/can we use TT mode, or is arcade the best/only choice?

I think we should use TT mode. For the multi lap races it not only tracks our full race times so it would be easier to load up replays to verify times. Most are 5 to 7 laps. also it allows us to use our own rider and bike setups.

Tokyo so rocks though!!!! can it be a tie breaker if needed!?!?!?!

I probably should have waited until I gotten back home and looked at the game, but is Pro mode the controller setting? I just run the game with everything turned off assist wise. I control shifting rider movement and seperate braking but that should be optional for those who don't like to shift manually. I haven't looked but as long as there aren't any turbo or no crash options we should be able to run which ever is most comfortable to us. Is on mode extremely faster than the other? While I don't really mess with bike setups, someone who does and gets their bike dialed in shouldn't be penalized for doing so because that is an option that anyone could choose to go.

Anyway again put me down for
#5 Yamaha R1 RM

The only reason I thought maybe pro mode should be required is that it's probably a bit harder to achieve the same times, since you lose the 'traction control' and don't have linked brakes (not such a big deal). I'm in total agreement on the bike setups though, people should be able to use whatever bike setups they like.

Is the free practice in TT mode the best way to do it, do you think? Only problem with that is you have to try and quit the session the second you cross the line after X laps so that the replay has the correct time.

Pro mode is fine with me. For the single lap "superpole" races free practice would be fine because once you got your best time all you'd have to do is save the best lap replay. For the other multi-lap sprint races I think the best would be to run them from the series races that allow the RM1000 bikes, because they track your times

Hmm I guess I'll have to rethink the individual race lengths to make sure they're doable in the series races, but I think you're probably right about that being the best way to do it. Once I've done that I think it's about time we got round one underway. :)

Agreed.

The makers of this game obviously do not understand the nature of motorcycle racers. They create a wonderful racing themed game, yet they make it impossible for users to race each other. This is a huge disappointment for me.

Otherwise the game is fantastic.

Right I've just spent far longer than any sane person would figuring out to sort out a set of races that are doable and still on decent tracks.

High Speed Ring:
Heavyweight series - 5 laps

Trial Mountain:
Practice - 1 lap

Laguna Seca:
TT World series - 7 laps

Grand valley speedway:
Heavyweight series - 5 laps

Deep forest:
Practice - 1 lap

Valencia:
Superbike 1000 - 5 laps

Mid-field raceway:
Clubman cup - 3 laps

Suzuka:
TT World series - 7 laps

Motegi road course:
SBK 1000 - 5 laps

Nurburgring:
Practice - 1 lap

If anyone's particularly opposed to that then let me know. Otherwise, round one starts tomorrow. ;)
