What is the TTBikeSim championship?
A bit of fun. Using Tourist Trophy's 'export replay to USB' feature it is possible to compare the quickest times from a certain race or over a single lap. The championship features 10 'rounds' and points are awarded for the top 10 finishers at each one. You don't need to take part in every single round if you don't want to, and likewise if you have missed the first few races but still want to join in then please do!
How do I share my replays?
Each round specifies a certain race that you need to enter. For instance you need to submit your best time at the High Speed Ring race in the Heavyweight Series. Once you've done a blindingly perfect lap just save the replay with a title that includes your forum name onto your PS2 memory card.
Then go to the 'replay theater' mode and select your replay. An option to 'read replay data from memory card to USB stick' option appears at the side of the screen - select that. Your replay will have been saved as 'USBDrive:\PDI\REPLAY.DAT'. Then head over to TT Replays (http://www.ttbikesim.com/community/) and upload the replay. Be sure to use the correct tag (specified in the topics for each round). You will need to register (http://www.ttbikesim.com/community/register.php) if you haven't already.
What are the rules?
You can only submit times completed on the 1000cc race modified bikes, not including the Suzuka 8H machines.
As you benefit from traction control if you don't use 'pro mode', you must use pro mode to ensure a level playing field.
You can use whichever type of tyres you wish. Some people's riding styles may be harder on tyres than others, but that's their own fault. ;)
I'm not fussed about whether failure conditions are turned on or not, however if it's clear from your replay that you would have crashed or lost a lot of time if it wasn't for the friendly intervention of a wall, or that you have in any way taken advantage from cutting corners, crashing etc then your time will not count.
Points:
The top 10 finishers at each round will receive points, using this structure:
First - 25 points
Second - 20 points
Third - 16 points
Fourth - 13
Fifth - 11 points
Sixth - 10 points
Seventh - 9 points
Eighth - 8 points
Ninth - 6 points
Tenth - 5 points
Championship Events
High Speed Ring: Heavyweight series - 5 laps
Trial Mountain: Practice - 1 lap
Laguna Seca: TT World series - 7 laps
Grand valley speedway: Heavyweight series - 5 laps
Deep forest: Practice - 1 lap
Valencia: Superbike 1000 - 5 laps
Mid-field raceway: Clubman cup - 3 laps
Suzuka: TT World series - 7 laps
Motegi road course: SBK 1000 - 5 laps
Nurburgring: Practice - 1 lap
That's great but I really wanted to know X and you haven't mentioned it here:
Reply to this post and I'll tell you. :)
Update - June 14th
It is no longer required that you upload a replay unless you are in the top three at the end of an event. Of course if you would still like to share your replay you are welcome to, but it's your choice. The quickest three riders can still post their replays within say a week of a round finishing, but all entrants must post their final lap time (right down to the thousandths of a second) before the round finishes.
