View Full Version : cpu throttle cut??

okay, this is really starting to bug the hell out of me. whenever i am hard on the throttle when in a corner, the tire starts to spin, just like in real life...anywho, when i start to stand it up to get a little traction, the cpu dials back the throttle, and i get no drive what-so-ever!!! this is really killing my lap times, and pissing me off as i cant pass many bikes, because you cant square off a corner to get a decent drive down the straight. this is most noticable on larger displacement bikes, i have the pro mode on, and everything made to be about as realistic as one can get. has anyone else had an issue with this yet? does anyone know if it cant be changed, or fixed, and is it a permanent feature? if so, does anyone want to buy a game real cheap.

its a permament traction controll. the only thing i can suggest if the tyre starts to spin up is to let it bang off the rev limiter for a moment and short shift. if you get it right, the tyre should hook up and the engine wont bog down.

ive crashed a few times at ssr5 due to agreesive throttle imputs though :p

damn, they really need to get rid of that. the best part about racing a quick bike is letting the tire spin just a little, and standing it up, letting the tire hook up, and rocketing down the straight. man...if you back off the throttle while the tire is spinning, you can almost be guarenteed a high-side!

thanks for the info! so, does this bother anyone else, and is there maybe some different riding style (form) that can help to cure, or at least reduce this effect?

As I am new to the motorcycle games (but not motorcycles), I only ride in the game's "amatuer" mode, not semi-pro or pro. This might be why I personally haven't noticed this effect, at least not to that extent.

yes they do, but, if you roll off in TT you wont highside. you could try putting some weight on the back tyre in your riding form. just put the seat postion (forward/backward) into teh postive. but, doing so will also take weight off the front and reduce handling.

yeah, you can also use the left stick, and press down, but then you cant lean as much...i cant find a way around it. i wonder why they did that? i also noticed that at slower speeds, the handling is really unrealistic. for instance, the slalom test with the cb 1100 boldor or whatever it is, on the junior license was one of the hardest for me because when starting out, the bike just doesnt handle like a bike. once you get up to about 40 to 50, its not an issue, but then you get into the problem i mentioned in the above posts.
also, taking weight off the front doesnt necessarily "reduce handling." it will reduce front end feedback (usually), and also have the tendancy to tank slap more often, though thats more of an issue with the real sportbikes.

well, tbh, what do you expect from a game made for the masses? though it would be nice to steer with the rear and have more bikes (as much as i like the little cb400ss/rm, id rather have the rvf400rr/rm or rc45/rm or ... heh)

did you know the busa rm cant do massive power wheelies? i couldnt get it higher than a waste high :(

what??!! no way...i tried the zx12, thought it felt pretty realistic, the fact that you can tug on the bars in 3rd, and it will come up if you try is cool, on the game it does the same. but on a busa...it should wheelie for england all day long.

Pumping the thottle helps. Especially on the exit...I've found it won't cut the throttle as often on me if I am pumping the throttle as you exit while drifting.
