Two more excellent races from the SBK boys. :D I have to say I really can't see anyone beating Bayliss to the championship this year, he really seems to be 100% on form.

Dom 09-05-2006, 04:23 PM Yep Haga was absolute amazing to watch right the way around the track. Sliding everywhere might not mean quickest, but it doesn't half look good. :D Barros did do a very good job from 5 seconds after the lights went out to the end of the race, but I don't think I've ever seen anyone that bad at starts! It's pretty funny watching him get swamped by about 10 bikes before turn one but is a real shame since he is such a good rider the rest of the time. Hopefully he'll see sense and make his way over to that car park before the next round! Was glad to see Toseland was able to take part in race two, after his off. Not sure what if the commentators picked up on it elsewhere but on Eurosport Jamie Whittam was saying it was caused by a tankslapper in the previous turn pushing the pistons in the brake caliper right in. He apparently should've dragged the brake a little down the straight to push the pistons back out but didn't so when he came into the parabolica north of 100mph he had no brakes. Slow1 09-05-2006, 07:14 PM actually that isn't true. in 2000 he got 2 4th places so he isn't perfect at Monza but you can say he does go "ok" there!! I wouldn't hand Bayliss the trophy yet because remember what happened in 2002. doubt he'd make the same mistake twice and I don't consider Corser as mentally strong as Edwards was, but you never know anything could happen. Anyway glad to see Haga getting good starts and hanging with the front boys. I freaking hate that announcer they have doing the races now. He gets too many of his facts wrong (since when is Suzuki racing a V-4 in SBK?), talks to much about nothing and must be James Toseland's secret lover because that's all he seems to want to talk about. I think it's absolutely stupid that Ducati is asking for a 200cc increase. If Ducati would have had Bayliss or Foggy I do believe they would have beat Corser for the title. I don't think it's so much that there is nothing left in the twins, but more that Ducati is more concerned with history than looking toward the future. Things change and ideas get old, Yes the Desmo is Ducati's trademark, but maybe it's run it's course and just because Ducati doesn't want to try something else it isn't fair to change the rules in their favor whenever they want something. Yamaha's 5 valve is their tradmarks but I wouldn't be surprised to see that changes in the near future as they continue to have problems others don't. |
