It's just been announced that ITV will be showing in full, on ITV1, every British Superbike round next year (http://www.motoreview.net/article.php?a=754). :D F*cking fantastic. :D Will be able to watch Shakey's comeback in full... well, when it doesn't clash with the many other top class biking events on every single sunday.
Bike racing is most definitely on the up. :D
Good news, I used to pay extra for Sky Sports to watch it but I gave it up after a while. After all, there's only so much bike racing a guy can watch but it'll be good do see how Shakey does on the Gixxer so i'll be watching it this season. What do you think?? Can he win the title again straight away against Lavilla on a works F06???
As an after thought - who'll be doing the commentary???
Haven't got a clue about the commentary, I just hope ITV do a better job with BSB than F1 (Could James Allen be more annoying?). :wall:
Since Shakey's not really been in the mix for a few years it will be interesting to see where he drops back in. I would say a championship win is a fair way off being a foregone conclusion though. Hopefully I'll be able to go to the Thruxton round in April and see how things unravel. :D
It seems we're going to get the SBK races live or slightly delayed if there's a clash with F1 or BTCC but the support races are going to be on another channel! Still no news on the commentary yet. I suppose we can expect the usual combination of TV pundit (pick one) + ex racer (John Renolds??) and somebody to ferret around the paddock - please, please oh god not that moron Jonathan Green :wall: I'd happily take some bubble head blonde girl who knows absolutley nothing about motorbikes than that tosser
BTW: I went to the Knockhill round last year. For once it was actually sunny  Unfortunatley I don't fair well in bright sunlight and I got burned to a crisp (very painfull) plus on the ride home my front tyre disintigrated and I was left stranded. All in all not the best day out I've ever had.
Disintegrated? Sounds nasty. Not blowout style, I hope?
I had similarly bad luck when I went to GP at Donington this (no wait, last) year. Got absolutely soaked during the day and whilst trying to leave the bike park. Pulled over at a small petrol station to dry the inside of my visor and my glasses as I couldn't see a thing. With that done, I hopped back on the bike, dreading the long ride back to Portsmouth and guess what? Wouldn't start. Charging problem I'd had on and off since I bought the bike a month or two beforehand picked a really good moment to screw me over. Fortunately I managed to persuade another biker (as there was a continuous stream of them, pretty near the track) to help me bump it and it started. After that it was a case of riding the 200 odd miles back at as low a gear as possible in the hope that the high revs would let it start again the next time I stopped for petrol.
its great news, but what about poor wsb for the normal tv watcher? channel 4 aren't showing it!!!
where will i see the stalker on his kwacker racing and dicing with troy, troy and nitro nori!
it seems like wsb is going to be absolutely fantastic this year, with no real slow people, and its not on!!!!
no fair!
Pretty rough luck yeah as it does look to be a great season this year. Would've thought someone would pick it up if only for a highlights show every week. :(
On the plus side though - not one but two excellent bike racing series being shown in full on terrestrial TV. Not long ago one would've been a turn up for the books. :D
worldsbk.tv have a little highlights package for the race to view or download. both wss and wsb were reall good to watch on there. the rest of that site is shockin!it's sooo poor.
i just dream now of eurosport....
i just can't wait for motogp on the beeb! it'll be so great
