View Full Version : How the...?

Okay, maybe I am missing something. I transcend from the MotoGP line of games for PS2. Not many people can touch my lap times. And I am a power-slidin' wheel spinnin' fool. I can keep the rear wheel spinning and the bike upright the entire way through the last left hander before the downhill right at Sachsenring no problem. TT was a sobering game in that the arcade-ness is lost. MotoGP is fun for that, but TT is fun for its simulation physics and killer real-world bike models!

That leads me to my query. When I am leaned over, scuffing peg in TT, I can get on the throttle wide open and get NO rear wheel spin. Likewise, I can be leaned over full tilt again, and apply maximum rear brake only and get no lock up...why?

Is there some game mode I am missing or something? I ride a 2006 GSX-R1000 for real. And I can accomplish wheel spin and slide with no problem. The race bikes in TT are suppose to simulate bikes with 30+ horsepower over mine...so, what's the deal?

Hmm...I think I answered my own question just now.

Thanks anyways, fellas! :D

I guess you found the 'pro' mode? Welcome to the boards btw. :)

No, I havn't found it, but I relaized it must not be on pro. I looked in every options menu and can't find how to change to pro mode...am I missing something here?

Go to Option menu, select the "Controller" menu, and change the dropdown menu from Semi-Pro to pro...

Hmm...ok. I thought I looked in that menu, but I'll double check. I may not have.

After playing years of MotoGP for PS2, I am so used to power slides and drifting that I felt like a fish out of water in TT when it would slide. Now I can have more fun with the Motard bikes. :P

When I switch it to pro..will I actually be able to LOCK UP the rear end by holding down the rear brake button?

Don't know about that. I generally try to avoid locking them up, but then I haven't riden a real bike in years and I tend to lose it in TT when I do so.

It's my understanding (I believe from Slow1) that the physics in TT are a bit lacking, and the expected results from certain actions haven't translated well from r/l into the game.

Yes you can lock up the rear while holding the brake button. It's one of the few ways to successfully navigate the final hairpins of Amalfi.

the last three corners of that circuit are a royal pita. the physics are definitely lacking at the really lower speeds. you basically cant turn at less than about 10mph.
