View Full Version : TTBikeSim Superbike Championship Round Five - Deep Forest

image coming soon ;)

How to take part:
Complete as many laps as you like of Deep Forest in a Tourist Trophy mode practice session. Then save a 'best lap replay' onto a USB stick from the replay theater area and upload it to TT Replays (http://www.ttbikesim.com/community/). The fastest time wins. Make sure the time submitted is a best lap replay as that ensures the correct lap is saved with the replay, rather than the complete session.

Bikes you can use:
Any of the race modified 1000cc bikes apart from the Suzuka 8H bikes.

Deadline:
The chequered flag is out in 1 week time (Sunday the 25th of June). Any entries submitted after midnight GMT will not count. To view the time in GMT logout and scroll to the bottom of the forum.

TT Replays Tag:
All replays for this round should have the tag 'championship-deepforest'. You will be able to enter this when you upload your replay to the site.

ive done a couple laps with both the 999r rm and zx-10r rm, the zx-10r rm feels more nervous and the ducati more stabable, but, both bikes have done high 19s so far.

[edit - bah, im starting to low side *everywhere* :( ]

1.18.564 with the ducati 999r rm. id try the r1 or gsxr, but, theyre both wearing #1 plates :P

i gave up on the kwack since i couldnt keep it on two wheels. i was starting to be able to steer with the back wheel on occasion, but, but it doesnt matter if id low side 2-3 times a lap on average >(

by that short cut you mean that piece of grey concrete stuff right before the first of the 2 second gear bends?

yup. if you take it "right" itll let you bypass t4 completely. fc doesnt reconize it as off course as anything not gravel, dirt, or grass is legal even if its off course.

Ok, well iposted this time without cutting the course, I really wanted a 1'18 but couldn't quite get it, i kept low siding or getting bounced off the bumps in braking areas.

It's a 1'19.079 on a GSXR100RM if you cant read it.

so can you use a bike with a number one plate?

Yeah I was wondering about that to, the number doesn't matter does it?

First crack today and best lap so far 1:18.201 on the 999RM

It's cool how you have to get on the throttle early in a couple of those left handers to stop the front from washing out and sometimes you can catch it before it completely goes :D

i tried to better my time with the mv agusta f4 rm, but could only put together a 1.19 something, and the with the rsv rm, a 1.18.9xx. the ducati got me into the 17's, like the other japanese bikes, but for some reason, the cbr really seems to hook up and just keeps pullin' like a freight train...

damn....sooo....frustrating....fingers hurting...lol.

i was up .427 at the 2nd split, and threw it away at the last corner. its comin', i can feel it. does anyone else have a problem with the bike wanting to stand up going throuht the last corner? i have enter the corner at around 95 or so, then drive it out like hell. i have to be on the gas basically going into the turn to keep the front from standing the bike up at the mid corner banking.

es nes

callaghan - yeah, on my fastest laps i usually end up hitting the curb on the inside, jumping while lent over and surviving somehow

Big_Ham
21-06-2006, 07:37 PM

hmm ... 1'17.138 with a cbr1000rr rm with a default set up :(

[edit - i dont see how you guys did 15-16's on the 999r rm since its fighting me. i did soften it up a touch or two over what i was using which has helped a little and got me down to a 17.5]

Big_Ham
26-06-2006, 08:40 AM
ok my fault and I'm also a PAL user......

Vermin71
26-06-2006, 11:45 AM
I managed to do a 1.15.4 lap by simply making no mistakes. I was already down to a 1.16.0 getting the last corner wrong all the time! I simply got it spot on for once and the time came. Braking for the first corner is also key in a good lap time as it is easy to brake too late and run off the track there. Although not great to watch, try running a little deep into turn one and square the corner off and then you can blast straight up the hill and into the quick right/left/right switchbacks with ease...........:D

For your information, on the 999R RM, I am running the following settings....

Spring Rate - F8, R7
Preload - F3, R8
Rebound - F8, R8
Compression - F4, R4

Finally, with regards to replays, how do I get them onto a PC?

Dom
26-06-2006, 12:30 PM
Nice laptime. :) To transfer replays to your PC you need a USB memory stick. For more info on how to get the files onto that from TT see the 'how do I share my replays?' section in the main championship info thread (http://www.motogpboards.com/showthread.php?t=326).

Vermin71
26-06-2006, 12:51 PM
Cheers for that Dom. However, how and where does the memory stick go on the PS2? Take it there is a USB port on the PS2?

Dom

Yep. Two of 'em on the front left side, assuming you've got the PS2 horizontal.

dom - id like to see replays from vermin and adifferentname if possible. ive callaghans so i know its good.

Well as agreed a little while back, replays are a must for the top three so I'd agree that somehow someone should have a look at them, although how that would work with the PAL replays I don't really know. Would any of the PAL people be willing to check out the other PAL replays just to ok them?

On the disqualification side of things, do people object to those riders having another shot at it?

callaghan
27-06-2006, 12:11 PM
well, i dont really object, but i dont think it should be another week, maybe thursday night @ midnight?

The other time.. please put the notes in the first post, in the presentation of the circuit  :? remember.. english is not my native language so is most difficult to me take attention of only one phrase..

We will see in an other championship

Bye

Dom
29-06-2006, 03:59 PM
Sorry Roca. As es posted the thread it was his choice whether or not that bit of the track was used and obviously the rules have to apply to everyone. I'm sure if es posts another championship round in the future with a similar problem he'll do his best to make it as clear as possible.

I can appreciate it's a bit annoying though. Still, there's always next time. :)

(And for what it's worth, you do a better job with English than plenty of people that are born in the country. ;))

well, im not liking deep forest tbh. interesting layout but its really hard to hit everything consistantly. with the yoshi gsxr 8Hour, with mild tweaks, feels like it should be able to run 14s in its sleep yet it keeps low siding or stops turning and the cbr1rr rm doesnt seem to want to turn in.

but, ive finaly been able to crack into the 16's with both bikes. the cbr1000rr rm a 1'16.9. the last corner i cut too tight, hit the curb and the front wheel went flying but somehow i stayed online (and on the throttle  )

I had no idea this thread was so old. Anyhow, if anyone's (NTSC) is interested in seeing the 1'15.305 I set a couple months ago, click through. I postponed trying to drive my time into the high 1'14s when I started chipping away at Valencia. Some day I'll get back to it.
