i think i might be able to do 38 race laps once i find a rythium. my only clean attempt so far (keep crashing in the last corner) has the lead ai hitting me two or three times >(

im not really good at this track, i dont have much practice here, so i will probably be off pace... this is a tricky track, with a lot of technical corners. once you get going pretty good though, there seems to be a line where a few corners can be strung together into essentially one big corner.

hit some 38s and first lap of a 40. my best lap so far has been a 1.38.3 so, callaghan, ill be disappointed if you dont have at least one 37 :P

i wonder what i could do with the ducati

for you braver types, you might want to try soft tyres. medium tyres on the cbr1000rr rm lasted until lap 5 before turning yellow on lap 5.

i ride in the simple mode, so i just go by feel. ill be using mediums though, as i always manage to fry the rear pretty quickly. i wish i could use softs...but, i would be in highside city.

well, my best hope is this track since i spent the most time here learning pro mode :)

fwiw - my ducati challenge time is a 1.41 iirc :)

i tryed soft tyres on the 999r rm and i got a 1'38.888 fastest lap, but, the tyres were red by the end of lap 2 and solid red at the end of lap 3. i was still fast enough to bet the lead ai by 3 seconds :(

Does it have to be done in pro mode?

Dom

Yep, so everyone's on a level playing field. :)

If you haven't used it yet it's honestly not very tricky, you just need to get used to the independant brakes.

I have had a go on pro mode and it isn't the brakes that are the problem, it is the power delivery. I just get tons of wheelspin and no traction!

Think I need to soften the rear end up a bit!

yeah, youve to be really smooth with pro modes throttle. i knew i couldnt be smooth enough with the buttons so thats why i switched the right thumbstick to brake/throttle.

i was practicing valencia last night, in the practice mode, and turned a few 1.37s. the gsxr 1000 likes this track. but i still cant come to grips with the kawi. its got a great attitude, but its just not fast enough. the last sweeper left going into the last corner, i was able to rear wheel steer that thing all the way to the braking point, then keep it sideways while braking, and fire it out of the corner, but this isnt the fast way around the circuit. looks cool though :)

best time in practice is a 1.37.587. i know some have been quicker...

i hate the last corner because if the rear end steps out at all on the brakes, the front will understeer straight off the track :(

I just got a 1'37.437 lap time on mediums during practice. I used a Yamaha R1 RM.

I dipped into the 38's...then I found out Suzuka bikes are illegal. Back to the garage I went...:eh: Picked up a CBR1000RR RM, turned a 41.1 {that should have been more like a 39.1 if it wasn't for a muck up by me...} before throwing the controller across the room.

37's you say...???

Maybe if I find a RC211V hiding in the corner of my TT garage... :shifty:

I have just uploaded my Valencia 5 lap race on pro mode. I managed to do the race in 8m 22.787s aboard the 999R RM. Think my best lap was in the 1.38 bracket with my others in the 40's.

hi vermin :) i was on 8:29 last night, saw your time earlier and decided to push a bit

i've improved to 8:23, still on the CBR

i reckon i could gain some on that bike still, but i fancy a change for my next attempt

the 1000cc rm's are such a fun bunch, it's a tough pick :D

i have to ask...how much of the curbs are legal?? with using a bunch of curb, i got a total time of 8.09. but there was a patch of grass i ran over. so im not counting it.

Hope you guys don't mind me butting in. I'm not running the Championship, but I like to see how well I do against other people...

Anyways, I took the GSX-R1000 RM out, and holy crap, I can't get along with that bike to save my life. I tried, and tried...nothing below the 1:41 mark...:?

I finally got fed up, and got the R1RM. Within two laps I was into 39's, amd my best time is a 38.2. Still off 'the pace" it seems, but I am much happier with this bike. The damn thing will actually hold a line, and it seems to want to drive off the corner, instead of just sliding towards the edge of the track.

I think low 38's is all I'm good for...

callaghan

im running consistant 1.37.5xx to about the 1.38 range.

Actually, I just ran a 37.5. :D

This bike is pretty good. The thing clips the apex real nice, once you're on the right line. Pace wise, I can do 39's pretty consistent, with couple of 38's/40's thrown in.

I am, but consistency is a bitch.

I ran the race for shits and giggles, and ran 8:28. Could hove done better, but I'm not getting that time down to below a 8:20.

No way, no how.
