Life is full of twists and turns. My life experience recently encountered a twist, flew off the road at a turn, hit a tree and went over a cliff.

Ever been blatantly ripped off? Most people have. Sometimes it’s for $10, and you get mad. Maybe a car radio, or even the whole car, and you really get pissed. Most often you never know who did this to you, but you wish you did so you could do something about it.

Without getting into the specifics, my situation involves getting ripped off to the tune of $283,000. Best part is I know exactly who did it, my seventy-year-old father. Yup, been had by my own dad. Totally conned.

Goes to show you, you never know. Funny how you let your guard down when it’s family you’re dealing with. Never let your guard down fellas!

All of this has me thinking about getting a shinny new motorcycle and enjoying life a little more.

you can buy a nice house for that amount. that sucks, did he do it knowingly, (im assuming so) cuz thats horrible. why would someone do that, especially to their own kid?

Jesus MD, wondered where you'd disappeared too lately.

Don't know what to say really. Hope you can find some kind of resolution to whatever's happened, I really do.

Yeah, it sucks. Thought I was buying out the ex-wife on a piece of property as an investment. Instead, was used to finance a lifestyle worthy of a king to lure a new bride (she is younger than I am), buy a new 2006 Mustang, and finance a new house 200 miles away.

Got tipped off by the ex, a "why is the house for sale?" kind of thing. I guess Pops was going for the brass ring. Sounds like an episode of the Jerry Springer Show.

I am way past the dad thing. The guy could die in a fire for all I care. Just want my money back, including attorney fees and anything else I can think of. Should get most of the original payout back when the property sells. The title was really messed up (intentionally), but my attorney fixed that in a hurry. Somehow he had it setup where I had zero interest in the property. Amazing. Good thing I keep good records, or I would be S.O.L.

Trying to get back to normal, watching MotoGP again, and thinking about the future.

:? Does it look like you might be getting some kind of resolution then, or is it just a case of trying to get on with things now?
