indeed, but it seems to fly by :) my first entry is 15:40.402 on the 999RM, best lap was 2:13.246

my first time, a 15.52. kinda feeling it out, seeing how the bike reacts at certain points. i noticed i cant brake as deep as i normally like to, because the rear end pops up every now and then.

Fastest Lap: 2.15.179
Total Time: 16.12.068
Bike: Ducati 999R RM
Has a couple of really bad laps in there

tried it with medium tyres, and it worked ok, even though the bike moved around a lot. best lap was a 2.09.827, but total time sucked, crashed twice. couldnt get under 12's with the hard tyres.

good morning all :) i've improved to 15:34.379. 1st lap 2:15.395, best lap 2:12.007. best lap was on the last lap, which is something
i'm always happy to see. so close to an '11 too

i may try again, see if i can improve lap 1 (i've had some 14's), and get some more 12's (most of my laps were low to mid 13's)

it was hard work for me to get that time though, so it may well be the best i get. if so, i'll post laptimes and upload the replay later

used the 999RM on hard tyres

has anyone else gotten away with using medium tyres? i think its cool how at first you can tell the tires are cold, then the middle three laps, they work great, and stick like hell, then the last two laps the bike really starts moving around, maybe causing me to be about a second off the pace.

ive got a 15.34.259 im trying to go better, but damn its hard...

Back to the drawing board for me :?

I need to understand the settings more, been using the duke but that bike seems solid no matter what you do within reason.

Best lap of 1:13:3xx but no consistency

Best time of 15:50:xxx so far but will not have much time to develop this today.

Very impressed Callaghan ;) keep it Goin.

i know what you mean, i have had about 3hrs total at this track, just been very busy for me this week! now im actually using the r1rm, and have a medium tyre on the front, with a hard on the rear.

just watched shakey return to winning ways 8O

Anyway MEDIUM front and HARD rear on the R1, i take my hat off to you
Goes to show that this game has longetivety due to set up parameters not only the Bike but Rider settings must have an effect, it's just so hard on a bike to understand whats going on.

callaghan

i went that route with a m front and h rear, because the bike would be great with mediums until the 6th lap, when i would be doing 2.12's, and the last lap became 2.15's. just not enough time meade up with consistant 2.09's to make up for the slower last two laps. with the hard rear, i had the traction the last two laps to really pull out of the corner, to make up for haveing a slower entry speed. strange way to ride really, but it worked pretty well.

the rider and bike settings work hand in hand. i had a 15.20.xx with the suzuki rm, and i couldnt really get it as stable as i wanted. but the r1 i was able to get it stable, and still turn quick with the medium front. you can see the front wanting to tuck for the last half of the last lap.

glad i did, ended up with...

1 - 2:13.658
2 - 2:10.142
3 - 2:11.301
4 - 2:11.533
5 - 2:11.565
6 - 2:13.278
7 - 2:13.422

total - 15:24.899

1.) 2'11.714
2.) 2'09.440
3.) 2'09.466
4.) 2'09.463
5.) 2'10.198
6.) 2'11.802
7.) 2'13.322

Overall Time.) 15'15.405

I ran Medium tires at both ends. Can you tell where they started to go off?

Dom

FWIW I did actually have a crack at this one, but my times were so pathetic it didn't seem worth doing the full race.

my times were also pathetic, but i submitted them!

Dom

I couldn't even be bothered to do the full race distance though, I'm so out of touch with the game. Next time I will definitely submit a crappy time to ensure that you don't come last. Sound fair? :(

lol i probably will still come last lol

congrats, spire, nice time. i didnt think i could do the whole race with the medium on the rear, in fact, i tried, but my setup didnt allow for a lot of wiggle in the back :)

spire, do you like the r1? i mean compared to the other bikes? so far its been the fastest 1000 rm bike for me.

Dom

@ Spire & Celtic - As it's the first (I think!) time you guys have taken part in rounds, could you confirm that your times are in pro mode?

Cheers. :)

CELTIC

Pro mode Dom - absolute bollox though 15:50:356 did not even submit a time.

Still trying to suss out the settings, The davinchi code would be easier to crack

Still Can't get my head around what times you lot are posting, I Mean 30 sec is alot by any standard :?

I read the post with Callaghans 3 point guide to use as a base, any further advice would be appreciated.

Mabe if the winner posted settings, so the rest of us could give it a spin to see where we could be would be a great help. Then the rest of us could be brought up to speed and the better the competition in the long term for all concerned.

CALL IT THE SCHOOL FOR MUPPETS - Hey DOM could be a new THREAD

Thx man, you ran a really fast time there as well. You must have been running what? super consistent 11s? I wanted to use a Hard on the back but I just couldn't get used to feel of it.

You were right about the mediums being good for 3 hotlaps and then falling apart

As for the R1, I've found it's the fastest by quite a bit. It just seems to hold a much tighter line than the others. However, I actually prefer the stability of the Honda on bumpier tracks, especially the Ring.

Oh btw Dom just to confirm, I was using Pro mode. It's the only way to play this game imo.

Also Celtic you're welcome to give my settings a shot :
This was for the R1

Springs-(F/R)- 5/5
Preload-(F/R)- 4/7
Rebound-(F/R)- 5/6
Bound-(F/R)- 3/4
on Medium tires

As for the gearing I just put the auto setting at 8 iirc. I'll have to double check that.

i can confirm pro mode use because pro mode is the only way to not have lbs and he was clearly using the brakes indepentlly. like going into the hairpin corner and spoon, he was using the front a second or two before going for the rear. then using the rear brake going through the first section (or, suzuka east area)

spire - if you dont mind, could you post your form as well? form as as much effect on the bike as the bikes set up.

I knew I was forgetting something with the setup :wall:

Believe it or not I just use the standard Lean Body setting. I've tried tweaking it around but I always revert back. I hope this helps.

wow, thats cool ... though, i find the bikes understeer too much on the power for my liking if i dont move the seat position (forward/backwards) to -3.0 :|
