View Full Version : Opinion Needed (Pro Versus Semi)

I created this poll in response to a person who believes a lap time achieved in semi-pro controller mode should be judged on even terms with one done in pro mode -- this despite the added difficulty of having to monitor one's traction to avoid spinning out or highsiding, a problem semi does not share.

Just can't let it go can you? In an effort to get people to see you as the best player around you attack others. In reality, most people could give a rats ass whether someone did a 6'48 in pro or semipro mode (which your poll is interestingly lacking - a "dont care option"). Even though there are obvious advantages to semipro mode, most people are sane enough to realize that a 6'48 done in any mode is a lap worthy of recognition.

False, but thanks for your input, stranger. What I accomplish in this game is enough to speak for itself; to verbally state the obvious would be not only be a redundant waste of effort, but uncivilized. As a man of utmost dignity, even I know better.

Henceforth, your provocative noise shall be summarily ignored.

umm, try your hand in the championship?? then see how good you really are. one track, granted a 7 minute track, is still only one track. give yourself a week to learn a track and see how fast you can go. your mensa quality iq should see that you learn tracks very quickly. and you have no dignity...not a morsel so. you seriously have issues to work out. everyone else is in friendly competition. you seem to think the world, and everyone in it (on it,) is beneath you. but i have yet to see anything close to what you call proof. that you really believe you are the best is a pitiful situation. im just glad i dont have your disorder.

as far as your poll, that is just pathetic. the fact that you would go through such lengths shows that you have no life, no intelligence and not the least so, no respect. i hate people like you with a passion. it would not matter to me if you left or stayed, because you mean nothing.

edit. -sr-'s time is better than yours. i have yet to see a replay from you that is comparable to his.

Iceman is very well known and respected in this community, for GT and TT...

You know... I dont see you in any competitions at all. Your just full of shit. I'd like to see you outrun me, callaghan, Iceman and (probably the best over-all player around) 750-RM (or the matter, anyone currently competitions) on any track. You'll get smoked, no doubt about that.

You keep attacking me and callaghan for useless reasons, only to fill yourself with joy and raise your own beliefs of you being the best. I never attacked you, never.

You came to the forum called GTP and said this:

Just got the game, but I can promise you now, I'll be a dominant force. Look out for me.

Then, after a while, you came with this:
If anyone is setting an untouchable pro mode record, it'll be me.

Then, you go off saying how one of my replays is "under optimized", yet your almost identical one showed you flying off the track.

Now, this is when you went egolistical:

You've been DEFEATED

I smoke you around that track at virtually every point.

any pro mode attempt you make on any track in this game, you stand to be ruined by me.

You had best make this air tight or I'm going to destroy you.

I told you already, apples and oranges. Quit comparing semi-pro to pro mode runs. I have you beat.

Then, you went nutso on GTP with this:
He neglected to tell you that your PAL-based console wouldn't understand his NTSC format replay. He knew this, otherwise there wouldn't have been the doubt of you being able to view it. He basically seized the opportunity to establish a wider audience at your expense, not stopping to care whether you wasted your time loading his foreign replay.

Pathological showoff.

I dont know why your attacking me and Callaghan. Why are you doing it? We never said anything offensive.

If you want people to recognize you, you need to learn how to respect everyone no matter the situation or point of view.

You want to take away my credibility as a TT player... why? What did I do wrong?

You said my Nurburgring FAQ's are absolutely useles... tell that to the people who've asked me questions and found an answer that helped them to get below the 7 minute mark. Yes, it might be 6 people on the thread, but not to mention, I get tons of PM's regarding anything about the track itself, bike setup, rider setup, etc... I get questions from time to time by many people on all three forums. Ever think of that?

You say that I dont deserve any respect, and you take away credit for me doing my 6'48 time. You saw, because my time was Semi-Pro mode, it as an opportunity to illuminate the spot light for you to up your status and put yourself at the top. You wanted to be at the top, but you saw me as an obstacle of some kind.

Iceman made a good point... it doesnt matter what controller mode is used.

Because of the time, 6'48.694, I've earned more respect from those I care about more than I bargained for. I still get comments to this day, even though the replay was done a month or two ago.

I earned my respect, and I never asked for it. But because I did what most people thought was impossible, I raised the bar and people sent me tons of PM's and congratulated me. I earned my respect because I spent countless laps, just to do one lap. I'm glad I did what I did, and what I'm capable of doing. I feel proud to know tons of people stand by my side, not just because of who I am, but because of what I do in this community. I have no regrets, at all. There is a reason why my friends, all of them, from all three forums call me the "Ring Guru" not to mention other names that they use. And I am very proud of it, and my buddies recognize that because I got something back that I didnt anticipate, which was respect.

Yes, anyone can catch my time and/or beat it. I agree with that 100%. But when you take credibility away from somone (like our situation, for example) who tries hard, it causes irritation from the other party. Plus, people will see you as someone who's trying to put someone down because of envy or whatever. The reasons, are always different. If you or anyone else catches me, then it does not mean you are better or worse than anyone else.

In a conclusion, your taking credibility away from the wrong persons. And for the wrong reasons, even though thats bassically you opinion. Simply, your not going where you wish to go. I would never have any problem with you Uncreated, its just the sad fact that you open your mouth alot, and disown someones credibility for who they are or what they did.

Show everyone respect, and everyone shows you respect.

Fellas, fellas. Quit whining. :P If you want 'prove yourselves' then by all means have a crack at the championship. Start your own challenges if you want. But keep it civil and fer chrissakes remember that it's just a game!

Believe me, I don't really want to get caught up in all this shit.
But, if Uncreated has got that bigger problem with Semi-pro mode he should complain to Polyphony for putting any other mode other than Pro in the game and stop pissing people off with bullshit that nobody really gives a monkey about!
It sure as shit doesn't bother me what mode someone is in, as long as they are having fun. Seems as though Uncreated doesn't do fun!:(

Just enjoy it, it is after all only a game!?

from my limited experience - yes pro mode makes the GAME a bit more of a challenge but get it right and i rekon it makes the bike accelerate harder and therefore quicker.

it's a trade off as far as I'm concerened.

regardless - IT'S A GAME - SO GROW UP

Uncreated you are really pushing yourself too far with these guys. As for the semi vs pro situation, it doesn't matter what mode you use aslong as you manage to have fun and get a decent lap time at the same time, something that i think you can't seem to do.
