hi im a newbie whom jus started followin the motogp series..

there are sum qns which i wld like to ask.

1. how do they choose the startin line up? is it according to the timing in the qualifying practice with the fastest being in front?

2. wat are brake markings? (heard this in the game motogp4)

3. how are the points allocated?

to answer:

1: there are free practice (3 sessions) and a qualifying session. the fastest time during the qualifying session takes the top spot, called the "pole position". then each individual after the top spot is put in order as according to their time. the second fastest takes the second spot, and so on.

2: brake markers are the signs (usually) on the outside of a turn that has the numbers in meters til the turn starts. most racers use this as a reference as to when they need to start braking to make the corner turn in point. some corners do not have these, but usually there are other reference marks, like maybe a row of light posts like on the suzuka track, after you come out of spoon curve, right before 130r.

3: point are allocated as follows. 25 for first, 20 for second, 3rd-16, 4th-13, 5th-11, 6th 10, and one less point for each place lower...til 15th-1 point.
