es nes 18-07-2006, 04:32 AM hm ... i think i dont like this track. the brakes feel weird here ... 1'57.2 best lap so far.
callaghan 18-07-2006, 04:37 AM dude, im barely able to get to 2 minutes...granted its with the mv agusta...but still. im convinced this bike is shit. i cant make it do anything i want. ill try it with the suzuki...maybe thatll help some.
es nes 18-07-2006, 05:01 AM im down to a 1'56.6 w/ mediums on the cbr rr rm.
[edit - As the official thread isn't up yet, I thought i'd make this temp one so i didn't forget my time and i have something to work against.
Bike:CBR1000RR RM
Fastest Lap: 1.55.583
Total Time: 9.49.991
im guessing you were using soft tyres? though im probably losing a lot of time into the hard braking corners because i dont much confedence in the brakes here.]
callaghan 18-07-2006, 05:20 AM haha...i switched to the suzuki, and now i can do consistant 54's. my fastest lap with the zooki is a 1.54.045. see it here. (http://www.ttbikesim.com/community/single.php/150)
Big_Ham 18-07-2006, 10:40 AM [ im guessing you were using soft tyres? ]
Nope, mediums......
es nes 18-07-2006, 08:01 PM i guess i need to work on my braking here. i either slow down way too much or miss the corner completely :(
750F-RM 18-07-2006, 08:54 PM good evening all :) my 1st entry is 9:47.xxx, with a best lap of 1:56.5xx
used the YZF-R1 on m/m tyres
i'm going to give some of the others a try before i get the Duke out 8O :D
es nes 18-07-2006, 09:07 PM 750 could you post the full time so i can post it in the leaderboard? :)

the best i could do with the mv in practice was a 2'01.3xx ... feels heavy and revs like a turtle :(
what do you think of the rsv?
CELTIC 18-07-2006, 10:52 PM Are You Lads Holding Back On Me ?
2nd Run on the R1
09:44:665
Are you lads finding that the fastest lap is the last lap
First lap 1:57:xxx
Then 3 x 1:56:xxx
last 1:55:high
So there must be at least 2 seconds on this setting to come
Who's going to be the first to break 09:40:xxx
If Your Running 1:54:xxx Callaghan Your probably already there ;)
Update 09:44:256 The Kwaka cut across me on turn 4 before the underpass he ATE Dirt ;) I carried on, He wiped out right across my front wheel 8O Check Out The Gallery
es nes 19-07-2006, 12:48 AM with the gsxr you can really feel the 2-6 less kgs its carrying over the over bikes on the brakes. it seems to spin the rear up more than the other bikes though.
CELTIC 19-07-2006, 12:56 AM Just a quick question - Does the race have to be totally clean IE no dust kicked up etc, as you can see by my last post i tangled with the kwaka and he went down SEE The Gallery.
I also ran slightly wide and kicked up some dust probably lost a couple of tenth's All part of racing if you ask me
es nes 19-07-2006, 01:11 AM i personally dont mind if small amounts of dirt/grass is kicked up since they run out of curb all the time ;)
as for the ai, i dont mind if its something the ai did that was mostly unavoidable.

and nes, "revs like a turtle..." i laughed my ass off. that is so true, but at the same time, it still moves good...in a straight line.

yes you can. and i find that it seems to turn in quicker too. that was part of the reason i had to go with the gixxer at laguna, rather than the r1 i usually use.8O i also think the zooki is more forgiving of abrupt inputs. i can really throw it in, and it just wiggles a little, maybe a short slide, but it still holds true to the line i want.

 i dont mind the slow reving, but, the higher reving bikes seem faster in tt than their slower reving breathen (aprilia rm and f4s rm) but, im not sure if thats really true because the prilia is a a hair under powered (imo) and the f4s rm is over. the prilia really should be faster, but, i was putting to much effort in just to be 2-3 seconds off the ducatis pace :(

im not sure, the rear end spins up quite easyly for me (im using default lean body set up which has set postion as +.8) everything else feels good though.
callaghan 19-07-2006, 03:27 AM i had to upload this replay. (http://www.ttbikesim.com/community/single.php/155) its not championship worthy as i crashed a time or two. i was feeling out a new set up that allows me to get really aggressive with the steering, and well, just watch the last four turns on lap two...
es nes 19-07-2006, 03:52 AM dude, id ask for my money back on that front tyre ... theres no way it was on the ground enough to wear that badly :P
callaghan 19-07-2006, 03:58 AM LMAO...
it was a soft. i couldnt really tell that it was going off until the last lap. im watching your replay now.
callaghan 19-07-2006, 04:08 AM your first lap is cool with me. the bit of grass on the right after going under the bridge i dont think helped in any way, so its fine with me.
750F-RM 19-07-2006, 08:03 PM used the honda this time, and got a time of 9:39.260
best lap was 1:54.702
more to come from the cbr before duke is unleashed
-Decado- 19-07-2006, 08:21 PM I was in 3rd place with a time of 9'47.xxx....
CELTIC 19-07-2006, 10:28 PM OK we have a race
09:39:288 Only half a bike length in it i recon 8O
best lap of 1:54:884
Also on the Honda RM
es nes 19-07-2006, 11:28 PM from now on, please post a full total time unless you want your time x'xx.999 for example ...
CELTIC 20-07-2006, 12:27 AM OK 750F-RM I'll set the pace on the DUKE
09:39:122 But....... Not Clean have to go to the panel i'm afraid if needed
Get this First lap of 1:55:594......
Then ran wide onto the grass after the 2nd double apex on lap 2 the only indiscretion (Panel) lap time 1:56:948
Followed by three mid 55's
So There's A Second And A Half At Least In There Yet
Bollox I'll Have to beat It Now Went Back Forgot To Save The Replay
es nes 20-07-2006, 01:30 AM oi ... i dont like this track. the suzuki is starting to annouy me too. understeers and the rear tyre doesnt like to grip.
[edit - hm ... i seem to need to start turning in earlier than i thought. im going back to the honda. the brakes are strong, but, i can put the power down exiting corners.]
es nes 20-07-2006, 01:52 AM oh, btw -
9'41.685
1'54.9 fastest lap
[edit - time updated. having troubles with laps 4 and 5]

now you know why i tried a front soft, and the tyre was in the air most of the time...trying to get the power down.
750F-RM 20-07-2006, 08:27 PM hi all :) riding the Duke now, i have a time of 9:37.288, best lap 1:54.740
the braking point for the turn at the end of the back straight is the nastiest imo
CELTIC 20-07-2006, 11:23 PM Ding - Dong.......... Duke Team Are Go Go Go !!!!!!
09:37:028
First Lap Of 1:55:527
Fastest Lap Of Only 1:55:263 But the Others very Consistant ;)
Don't Know About You 750F-RM but i think there's a low 09:36 here
I find the breaking point for the back straight to be 10 yards before the first marker do all my breaking in a straight line turn in and let it roll
Like This.......
es nes 20-07-2006, 11:56 PM the braking point for the turn at the end of the back straight is the nastiest imo
specially since its the fastest point of the track going down hill.
callaghan 21-07-2006, 12:09 AM Don't Know About You 750F-RM but i think there's a low 09:36 here
yeah, ive run a low 35, but not clean yet. ive a 9.37.567 clean, but obvoulsy ill have to do better than that, especially if spire is going to enter.:shifty:
CELTIC 21-07-2006, 12:21 AM I was wondering where you were Callaghan as you stated - Running consistant 1:54's two day's ago ;)
I'm finding this track you have to be smooth and let it all flow, If you try to attack it tends to bite you
a Low 1:55 Heh this is starting to hot up :D
What bike are you running Callaghan ?
callaghan 21-07-2006, 12:49 AM the suzuki
callaghan 21-07-2006, 03:29 AM rider: callaghan

Spire 21-07-2006, 03:47 AM Awesome time Cal  I have a feeling that's gonna be really hard to match. I'll put some more laps in tonight and see if I can give ya some competition.
es nes 21-07-2006, 03:53 AM haha ... i guess the rear traction coming out of corners with the honda is greater than the brakes of the suzuka? ;)
CELTIC 21-07-2006, 08:59 AM Fastest Lap Of 1:51:826
I've already tried the CBR pushed into the high 1:54's but struggled to get any lower, Just makes me wonder if there's any difference between PAL and NTSC versions of the game ( Not to take anything from you Mind ;) ) but i just can't get my head around a 3 sec deficit.
If the game versions are the same it would prove that there is alot of scope in the settings/rider form than previously thought - which would mean it's going to take alot of time to nail this game down. :?
callaghan 21-07-2006, 12:17 PM haha ... i guess the rear traction coming out of corners with the honda is greater than the brakes of the suzuka? ;)
lol, true, true. :) you just dont expect there to be that much of a difference...i mean, that is a lot of time, though to be fair, the suzuki did have a lot left in it. probably about a 9.30 would be the fastest it has (for me).
i wonder though, if it was a real race, where all the bikes were pullin around the same times, i might still take the suzuki over the honda, just becase the bike i think has better characteristics. you can really get away with a lot, and the suzuki allows for more leway with the racing lines.
callaghan 21-07-2006, 12:18 PM I've already tried the CBR pushed into the high 1:54's but struggled to get any lower, Just makes me wonder if there's any difference between PAL and NTSC versions of the game ( Not to take anything from you Mind ;) ) but i just can't get my head around a 3 sec deficit.
ive thought about that too. i wouldnt think there is any difference between them as far as game play is concerned, but then again, you cant watch another regions replays...makes you think...?:eh:
CELTIC 21-07-2006, 01:40 PM I would,nt think there was any difference either but 11.5 sec over a five lap race is probably the difference between Motogp and 250 class.
It's just myself and 750F-RM seem to be matching each others times on different machinery and are both running the PAL version as you know.
I'm not that new to this type of racing as used to race with racing-line.org about 3 years ago on GT3 and used to race against the grandtourismo.de boys who at that time were very fast and well known on the GTPlanet.net site Used to go under the name of Oracle back then.
Anyway only time will tell Watch Your Mirrors For #10
es nes 22-07-2006, 02:27 AM callaghan - thanks for the form :)
im not too far behind you duke bros! ;)
callaghan 22-07-2006, 02:42 AM uhhhh, i dont know what youre talking about:shifty: j/k, any time man!

1'54
ive done a 1'53.9 though. just need to tweak my set up a bit now :)
CELTIC 22-07-2006, 09:08 AM OK as i thought this games is as much about Rider Form as it is settings, so double the parameters of GT4 etc :D
Just been over to GTPlanet as entered Icemans TTWRS Got into DIV 2, Your'e Just above me es nes so see you there ;)
I noticed on the TTWRS that Div 1 is all NTSC except for 750F-RM Way to go Man :D hold the fort for the next couple of weeks ;)
I am coming to the conclusion that it's due to the fact that the NTSC version was released a couple of weeks earlier.
So Watch out NTSC boys the PAL lads are in Town 8O
es nes 22-07-2006, 02:27 PM celtic - how many of the div 1'ers do you think use pro mode though? :P
750F-RM 22-07-2006, 03:26 PM celtic - how many of the div 1'ers do you think use pro mode though? :P
oh dear, you're not one of those pro mode elitists are you?
a simple equation for you...
std mode'll get you faster laps + std mode is allowed (for now anyways) at the gtp tt wrs = i can't
think of a reason not to use std mode there
i use pro mode as required here, and would have no problem if ice wanted to go all pro at gtp tt
so put your tongue in ;)
CELTIC 22-07-2006, 03:43 PM My Qualifier was set in pro mode, i set it about two weeks ago just did'nt get around to posting it until yesterday, With what i know now from racing here i could probably cut it by a second or so.
Looks as if Callaghans Form works es nes ;)
es nes 22-07-2006, 06:52 PM 750F-RM - elitist, no? but i do have more respect for pro mode times because semi does have more grip, but a fast lap time is a fast lap time. im also more interested in pro times because i use pro mode and i like being able to compair laptimes who have the same base line grip. if that makes me an elitest, well ... sorry :P
CELTIC - yeah, calla's usually does very good set ups/forms :)
750F-RM 22-07-2006, 08:16 PM 750F-RM - elitist, no? but i do have more respect for pro mode times because semi does have more grip, but a fast lap time is a fast lap time. im also more interested in pro times because i use pro mode and i like being able to compair laptimes who have the same base line grip. if that makes me an elitest, well ... sorry :P
no apology needed. you've explained your pov very eloquently, and i have no problem with it, or you :)
anyways, here's my latest (possibly final) time...

2 - 1:54.213
3 - 1:54.332
4 - 1:54.721

total - 9:32.936
set using pro mode as required of course
used the Duke and pushed quite hard. i believe a <30 is possible for me, but it'd be a tall order
fun trying anyway :D
es nes 22-07-2006, 08:33 PM :)

Off Topic - does anyone know why i can't get smilies to work as there NOT disabled in the options below, also i cannot select the links and Attachment etc.
es nes 24-07-2006, 01:13 AM oi! shame its too late for me to protect 2nd :)

callaghan 24-07-2006, 04:35 AM Well done lads some awsome times :)
Callaghan That's Insane - What you drinking Rocket Fuel
burns on the way down. thank you for the kind words. i wish it was a little cleaner, as i am a perfectionist, and i wish i could have made the bike a little more predictable.
Off Topic - does anyone know why i can't get smilies to work as there NOT disabled in the options below, also i cannot select the links and Attachment etc.
yes, under your options in the user control panel, scroll sown to the bottom box, and youll see a section like this: "message editor interface"...select "standard" and youll be able to include all the stuff...
everyone did a really great job!
@ Celtic - You can also just click the http://www.motogpboards.com/images/editor/switchmode.gif button in the editor to switch to the standard text editor.
Or perhaps your browser is disabling some of the javascript, as you say the buttons aren't all working?
So long as 'Disable smilies in text' isn't selected they should always appear after you click submit.
Congrats on another victory callaghan. :)
CELTIC 24-07-2006, 08:25 AM Cheers Dom and Callaghan sorted now i can smile again :D ;) :P 8O
es nes 25-07-2006, 12:55 AM the nordschliefe thread will be up after i get done eating diiner :)
callaghan 25-07-2006, 01:07 AM cool, i can see my ass getting kicked on this one.
question?: can previous times be submitted, or do they have to be done after the thread has been put up?
es nes 25-07-2006, 01:44 AM id prefer a fresh time, but ...
750F-RM 25-07-2006, 05:33 AM imho, it should be fresh times only. if not, it'd be like a real life rider relying on previous laptimes in a current wsbk or mgp race :)
callaghan 25-07-2006, 12:01 PM imho, it should be fresh times only. if not, it'd be like a real life rider relying on previous laptimes in a current wsbk or mgp race :)
thats what i was thinking.
CELTIC 25-07-2006, 01:05 PM My Best Time So Far Previous To This Is A 07:29:xxx  as did not have GT4 and never seen the course before TT so total laps of around 20 or 30 :(
My aim for the week to get close to 7 mins ;)
