View Full Version : Tour De France.... SKINNYHIPPY 21-07-2006, 09:09 AM any cycling fans here ? Did you see Landis yesterday ? Awesome man. Dom 21-07-2006, 09:51 AM Yes! Well... sort of. I've never really bothered to watch the Tour itself apart from the odd few minutes here and there. I saw some of the stuff as this year got underway (oh so they're all on steriods, nice!) but don't really find it that interesting to watch. What was good about yesterday? I am a pretty keen cyclist atm though. I've got a fairly crappy Claud Butler MTB which I try and get out on a couple of evenings a week and then for a decent ride on the weekend. Would like to get a nice skinny-tyred road bike at some point so I can really rack up some miles though. SKINNYHIPPY 21-07-2006, 12:11 PM i'm more a mountain biker myself but like the tour. Landis blew up on the major climb of wednesday - lost yellow and about 8 mins - yesterday however - he was a man possesed. blew the pack on the first climb and bridged a gap to a break away bunch - then he destroyed them and took 7 minutes out of the yellow jersey. very impressive. if you like a bit of mountain biking - my website (albeit a bit shitty) is www.loosenutz.co.uk Dom 21-07-2006, 12:34 PM Nice site. Had a scan through some of the ride write-ups - looks like you've got some really nice places for riding near you. As I'm car-less I can't chuck my bike on a rack and then go off in search of really nice riding spots, so I'm stuck with whatever trails I can ride to. That's probably a big part of me getting into road riding lately as there are loads of nice country roads near me but not so much in the way of decent trails. Having a look at some of those bike reviews really makes me realise how crappy my CB is (pic attached). 320 es nes 22-07-2006, 01:40 AM well, no lance so im not really interested anymore ;) Dom 27-07-2006, 03:58 PM Ooh what a surprise, Landis fails a drugs test (http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/other_sports/cycling/5221122.stm). I'm starting to think they should give out special prizes for those who actually race when they're clean. |
