View Full Version : TT World Series Race 1 - Infineon
es nes 08-08-2006, 12:02 AM TZ125 - Infineon - practice - 1 lap
How to take part:
Complete as many laps as you like of Infineon in a Tourist Trophy mode practice session. Then save a 'best lap replay' onto a USB stick from the replay theater area and upload it to TT Replays (http://www.ttbikesim.com/community/). The fastest time wins. Make sure the time submitted is a best lap replay as that ensures the correct lap is saved with the replay, rather than the complete session.
Bike/s you can use:
Yamaha TZ125
Deadline:
The chequered flag is out in 1 week time (Sunday the 13th of August). Any entries submitted after midnight CST will not count.
TT Replays Tag:
All replays for this round should have the tag 'TTWS-Infineon'. You will be able to enter this when you upload your replay to the site.

callaghan 08-08-2006, 12:11 AM running 41's in practice, looking to hit 40's. great job getting this up!
Matt W. 08-08-2006, 01:03 AM I've ran a 42.6 It's all this thing's got right now.
I'm messing about with set-up and what not. I was running 44's and then messed with the suspension, and got the thing finishing the corner much better. Riding it, I really am not making many mistakes, so it's gotta be the set-up. The bad part, is really I can't particualry point out any faults, so I'm not sure where to go from here. Seems that every time I make a change, all I am doing is making a compromise in one area, to make up in other.
Callaghan's pace has got me worried.:shifty:
callaghan 08-08-2006, 04:28 AM i turned a 1.41.028, but was wondering if the curbing on the last corner is game...? check my replay (http://www.ttbikesim.com/community/single.php/174), this will not be my entry. still working some of the kinks out, on this thing you definitely have to keep the momentum up, or you lose soooo much time.
isaac8317 08-08-2006, 11:51 AM 1',44".599 for me at Infineon. I .zipped it because I uploaded it and now it says that my replay doesnt exist.
es nes 08-08-2006, 08:22 PM i turned a 1.41.028, but was wondering if the curbing on the last corner is game...? check my replay (http://www.ttbikesim.com/community/single.php/174), this will not be my entry. still working some of the kinks out, on this thing you definitely have to keep the momentum up, or you lose soooo much time.
i know they cut the corner with cars, but, ive not seen a motorcycle race there. if the bikes cut it, then, ill allow it.
Crazman 08-08-2006, 08:32 PM Crap I dont have a replay device.
es nes 08-08-2006, 08:39 PM you can pick up a usb drive fairly cheaply, crazman.
ive still not done any laps yet, but, i still have my ps1 hooked up instead of my ps2. ive been playing a bit of ffix.
callaghan 08-08-2006, 11:30 PM i know they cut the corner with cars, but, ive not seen a motorcycle race there. if the bikes cut it, then, ill allow it.
i dont believe they cut curbs on bikes.
just as well, ive done a quicker lap...
Off Topic: es nes, FF9? do you like 9 the best? ive not played 9, but have beaten 7, 8, and 10. and one of those spin offs they had, i didnt like too well. which do you think is the best?
CELTIC 08-08-2006, 11:51 PM 1:41:550 Clean :D
I Think there's going to be some close racing this week ;) 8O
es nes 09-08-2006, 12:03 AM i dont believe they cut curbs on bikes.
just as well, ive done a quicker lap...
k, then, no cutting the final hairpin
Off Topic: es nes, FF9? do you like 9 the best? ive not played 9, but have beaten 7, 8, and 10. and one of those spin offs they had, i didnt like too well. which do you think is the best?
i liked 7 the best, 8 was good and 10 is enjoyable. i never played x-2 which is probably the spin off your talking about. 9 is proving to be the hardst (but, ive not beat X yet and i used high exp/ap game shark code to enjoy the story and not worry about mindless level uping in FF7).
Crazman 09-08-2006, 12:46 AM Ah I play FFXI avidly, but My friend is picking up a Maxdrive tomorrow so No big deal I should have one by the end of this week.
es nes 09-08-2006, 12:54 AM i want to try FFXI ... specially the dragoon class since thats always been my favorite class. throw in a bit of black magic and im there ;) but, im only on dial-up that doesnt connect faster than 24k tops :(
My friend is picking up a Maxdrive tomorrow so No big deal I should have one by the end of this week.
there was a 3-5 grace period in the sbk championship and the same will be provided here :)
Matt W. 09-08-2006, 02:30 AM Just ran a 41.7
I'll go and put ice on my thumbs now...:shifty:
callaghan 09-08-2006, 03:27 AM hahaha. been there before:lol:  ive had my hand cramp up where it takes a few seconds to let go of the controller. and then it hurts then next time you play.
callaghan 09-08-2006, 04:01 AM 1.40.797 (http://www.ttbikesim.com/community/single.php/177)
there is more in it, especially in the faster sections. i bet before this is over, someone is turning high 39's.

#27 Rare White Ape 1:42.030
I might try softening the front end to get it to turn better through the slower corners in the first and last parts of the lap. But keep in mind I know squat about bike setup so watch out :D
EDIT: For some reson I can't upload my replay to the database so PM me if anyone really wants it...
750F-RM 13-08-2006, 10:59 AM hi all :) 'fresh eyes, fresh hands' session early this morning produced

hm ... i think i need to start on my setup from scratch. i cant figure out where im losing so much time. id say i was probably losing a bunch of time between the chicane and the hair pin, but, im still a ways back at the splits, so, meh. i can keep doing 44s easyly enough, but, as soon as i start to push a bit i ride straight off the track :|

Best of luck to all ;) as were done here, really enjoyed it in the end - but would'nt be surprised if someone pip's us or splits us as i know how competitive you all are :D
es nes 13-08-2006, 10:32 PM i wish i could watch those. i dont think im going to have a chance to update my times though id like to. atm im busy watching NGE with the cousin, but, if i get the chance there are a couple things like to try. id be happy if i could just be with 1 second of my team mate which is where i usually stand.
es nes 14-08-2006, 12:13 AM hm ... 1'42.917 im fighting the bike though to turn in and hold the line at the exit.
hopefully my style will work better with the 250.
[edit - switched forms, tweaked it, it feels a little better but the time still isnt coming down.]
-Decado- 14-08-2006, 02:43 AM I keep getting a tank slapper when I go down that short stretch with the cones on your left... wiggle-wiggle-wiggle wittle 125.

Rare White Ape 14-08-2006, 08:47 AM It's now up on YouTube.

Tell me if the sound is out of sync. It was on my crappy laptop.
Big_Ham 14-08-2006, 04:12 PM Yes the sound is out of sync, but fast lap.
es nes 14-08-2006, 11:51 PM interesting ... your braking techques are very ... different.

Nice lap, but he ran wide at the exit of the last turn.
That's a DQ in my book.
CELTIC 15-08-2006, 12:14 AM Cheers Rare White Ape ;) - That youtube could be handy to get around the NTSC/Pal problem with the replays - don't worry about sound as its just to varify clean lap :D
???? What Happened to Stormryder :?
es nes 15-08-2006, 12:30 AM Nice lap, but he ran wide at the exit of the last turn.
That's a DQ in my book.
yeah, i saw that as well as the other hair pin that leads onto the back straight ...
[edit - and, i dont think youtube.com is really the best answer. please check the unoffical rule thread for a replay update in a moment]
750F-RM 15-08-2006, 05:39 AM interesting ... your braking techques are very ... different.
care to elaborate? :?
750F-RM 15-08-2006, 08:37 PM yeah, i saw that as well as the other hair pin that leads onto the back straight ...
for future refernce: running way off track, even on pavement, will be considered the same as running way off course on to dirt/grass. if you are uncertain, please feel free to ask. also, no cone killing. curbing is usually fine, but, cutting turn 4 at deep forest for example is off limits.
you can use the ais lines for refernce some times. refering to deep forest example again, the ai dont cut turn 4.
sorry for being so diffcult ;)
http://i54.photobucket.com/albums/g120/750F-RM/mgpb1-4.jpg
i believe the above pic taken from my replay is the scenario you're referring to?
i'll take your word about the ai at turn 4 deep forest, np :) and i know you said 'sometimes', however...
i'm a little bit miffed that my crossing the double yellow at the point in my pic seems to have bothered you in some way
rest assured, had there been a clear guideline re: that point, i'd have stuck to it
if there was kerb there, i'd have stayed inside it too
neither was in place so i used my judgement as to what's fair and not,and imo there's nothing dodgy about crossing that double yellow
to see what the ai made of it, i had a little look around the game...
demo #7 in the replay theatre: at least one of the ai crosses the double yellow
tt mode world championship race at infineon: at least one of the ai crosses the double yellow
arcade 1-1 race on road bikes: yep, he crosses the double yellow
arcade race on race bikes: yes indeed they do cross the double yellow
anyways, your the mod/admin of this series and i have no problem with any rules you want to apply to it
please though, be clear as to what you want before the event :)
'cone killing'? that's a great phrase, i love it :D oki, cones are off limits, np.
hey...
if you kill cones, does that make you con(e)an the barbarian?
es nes 15-08-2006, 08:40 PM the yellow line there is the edge of the track. did the ai go that far off?
please though, be clear as to what you want before the event:)
yeah, thats why i just posted a warning :)
750F-RM 15-08-2006, 08:44 PM the yellow line there is the edge of the track. did the ai go that far off?
yeah, thats why i just posted a warning :)
at least one of them does, yeah. have a poke around es :)
what warning you referring to?
can we use the green tarmac at valencia?
es nes 15-08-2006, 08:57 PM check the unoffical rules thread. i need to get dom to update the offical thread for me.
can we use the green tarmac at valencia?
yeah, its part of the curbing imo.
Rare White Ape 15-08-2006, 10:09 PM That yellow line is a problem in the Infineon Stock Car Course where the track takes the shortcut and bypasses the big left-hander, because it allows a faster line into the chicane. But since the shortcut and the chicane aren't in use in this circuit it shouldn't matter IMO.
es nes 16-08-2006, 12:22 AM would any other ntsc users like to upload their replays? im thinking of posting pictures of peoples replays after each round and atm, the only replays ive are my own and callaghans. this is not neascary, but, would make it a bit more interesting.
TIA!
callaghan 16-08-2006, 10:50 AM if you kill cones, does that make you con(e)an the barbarian?
haha...a'll be bach...
