it seems a couple other people have played the various final fantasys that have graced the ps1 and ps2. atm im "actively" playing Final Fantasy IX and X. id like to try XI, but, my connection is crap so ... meh. my pc could handle playing it, but, my connection cant :(

i think i enjoyed 7 the best, i really liked the gameplay with the summons...it was way easy to learn and you still had to master it to complete it totally. maybe im old skool, but i like the way 7 was played, where the different characters had "character" (for lack of a better word). i never did get that special sword or whatever it was...you had to beat the game in an hour or something like that..maybe it was ten hours. i didnt really like 10 that much, to me it just lost the plot half way through it. too many side adventures that you were "required" to play, and they didnt really have much to do with the overall story. i did like the main theme, though it was somewhat difficult for me to follow at times.

i never got into the orginal final fantasys. ive the FFA for the ps1 with ffv and vi iirc. but, i get bored sometimes just sitting around in one spot for hours at a time to level up so i survivie the next boss fight. i play rpgs for the storylines, not the mindless slaughtering of minions to be strong enough to kill a boss.

needing to buy healing items and find ether is a pita to level up is a pita too.

agree with that for sure. i think i spent a whole day leveling up in ff7 just to be the emrald dude...(the undersea one.) damn that was tough at first, but after a few hours of walking around, etc... it was no prob.

i managed to beat emarld without the undersea materia :) ruby i could never beat though. the whole "kill two team mates so he doesnt steal them" thing was quite lame imo.
