My fastest lap was a

1.42.262

I'm sure some of the faster guys will be able to go sub 1.40. I don't really like this track anyway, i was just bored this morning lol.

Big_Ham

I believe we have to do a full 7 lap race, am I right?

Big_Ham

bugger, o well. I was right, a sub 1.40 is possible, i managed a 1.39.870, go me.

Good Time Though on a 250 - there are some that struggle to get sub 40's on the 1000's

managed a 1'40.8xx with my first "clean" race. somehow using an old controller was making the thumbsticks on/off switches so if i tryed to brake hard the rear lifted :|

[edit - tryed a different form and down to a 1'39.975 fastest lap. you faster guys will most likely be doing 1'41 first laps and high 37-low 38's ;) ]

ill have a go tonight. see what i can put up.

nice time big ham. funny thing is, the 250 has a power/weight ratio close to the 600 rms'. but its lighter, handles better, and is about as quick as the 1000's...someone remind me yet again why we went to 4-strokes...

so far...11.42's with a fast lap of 1.38.

i notice that the random stoppies have popped back up...but only gong into the first corner, and going into the last corner...this has ruined many a great time.

17-08-2006, 08:26 PM
good evening all :D my new best time has a first lap of 1:40.854 and a best lap of 1:38.446, the rest are 39's

I haven't been getting any of those :eh:

Try being careful with the forwards/backwards shift on the control stick.

es nes
17-08-2006, 11:49 PM
ive not expernced random stoppies, but, it seems like the rear brake has no grip here going into the series of corners that leads to the sector 2 mark and the last corner. and when the rear steps out, the bike understeers right off the track.

yeah, i know what causes it, just that sometimes it seems worse on certain bikes than others. probably because this bike is really light.

just out of curiosity, how come no one is posting up total times? some kind of strategic plan?? ;)

Hey guys, I just ran a 11'34.432. This is my final entry as I'll be out of town for the rest of the week. I had some issues trying to upload the replay.

It just gave me a bunch of error messages :shifty:

I'll try again when I get back. Good luck all.

I just did a fill run and my second lap was a 1:39.189, with a total time of 11:52.206. Which means I suck. Badly.

I'm not dealing with the tyre wear very well as both tyres are tomato red by lap 5. In practice I had a nicely balanced chassis that would turn-in and put the power down nicely but I think my settings aren't kind to the hoops over a longer distance. Either that or it could be the punisment I give them under brakes - my front was worn out before the rear!!!

 what compound are you using, rwa?

es nes
19-08-2006, 02:52 PM
probably mediums since softs didnt last three laps for me. heh.

callaghan
19-08-2006, 04:55 PM
the medium lasted me for the whole seven laps, i dont know what color they were, i use the simple display mode. i was able to get a soft to last about 5 and a half laps, but then you could really tell, it was just gone. i thought about a medium front, soft rear combo...works well after the first lap, but for the first lap, the bike understeers horribly.

750F-RM
19-08-2006, 05:01 PM
i'm on mediums, and they're in good nick all race long. could rwa's style and set up reallly effect tyre wear so much?

just as well mine last well, i'm lousy on worn tyres :D

if we had as many tyre compound options as we have in gt, imo medium softs might just last enough for this race

i'll be hitting the track soon, see you all there :)

callaghan
19-08-2006, 05:11 PM
damn you all,:P i have to work til 5. i wish i had as much time for this series as i did for the first one. ive only done 4 races so far, and im about 10-12 seconds off the pace. this really sucks...

Soft/soft. If I ran med's I'd have no hope of hitting low 39's, which is the sort of pace needed to be at the front.

Could rwa's style and set up reallly effect tyre wear so much?

Well, I knocked off a bit of the spring rate (not preload) front and rear and I'm very hard on the brakes up to the turn-in point, especially T1, T8 and T13, where the bike is cranked over on its side.

I'll give the med's a go anyway to see how I perform.

I'll give the med's a go anyway to see how I perform.
by doing so, you'll have the confidence boost of knowing that they'll last till the end in in
good condition, regardless of how much you abuse them :D

my latest time is

1st lap - 1:40.691

best lap - 1:38.341

race - 11:35.660

i had a 1:40 flying lap in that race, caused by pushing too hard and getting a bit ragged

hoping to tidy that up today

Rare White Ape
20-08-2006, 11:22 AM
This time I did an 11:50.336 as a first go on mediums, but my tyres were still green all the way to the finish :?

Now I'm losing two seconds a lap over the whole distance, my best being a 40.2.

More play with the suspension I think.

Rare White Ape
20-08-2006, 12:33 PM
11:40.178 now, with a fastest lap of 1:39.098 - on my last lap when I thought I was choking

And I played a lot with the settings. Made it real soft...

Edit: Tried again, couldn't improve, but I did pop a 1:38.888 fastest lap. The thing is, I don't think I'll be able to keep that kind of pace for 7 laps, plus the MotoGP is on now so I'll give it another go before work tomorrow.

11.30.8, but its not clean, i jumped a little more than the curb on the chicane before the last turn...fast lap was a 1.37.890. im getting there, but consistancy is a bitch. the bike's behavior changes almost every lap, as the tyres wear in/out.

750F-RM

i almost had spire's pace, but just couldnt hold it for seven laps, great job man!

Celtic you're dead right, there is a bug there. Actually 'was a bug there' would make more sense, cause now it's fixed. :)

I don't know how it happened but a certain directory was missing for the TZ 250 replays, so I've created one and tested an upload and it worked fine. If anyone has a similar problem in the future please PM me and I'll get it sorted straight away.

Um.....obviously 4-stroke being more reliable and longer lasting.
