Just curious to see what people think of the flag to flag rule now that it's finally occurred.
Personally I like it. Anything to avoid aggregate races and those pit stops add a bit of excitement, although maybe just because they're a bit of a novelty atm.
Thoughts?

ill be the first to admit, i dont like the general direction racing is going. i firmly believe racers should race other racers. not electronics racing other electronics. but i do like the flag to flag rule. i think its falls into the strategy of racing, judging the weather, and outsmarting your opponent.
I love the rule............. it mixes it up and places pressure on the rider and the crew to choose wisely. If not, the results can be less than impressive, as Casey Stoner and Shinya Nakano can attest.....
I enjoyed it-but think it is very dangerous.poor colin, and someone will eventually seriously hurt themselves when a collision in the pits happens. so many had near-misses. i would dread to think what would happen if someone collided with a 50mph RCV or summat. Ouch.

that is part of racing. every other form of racing just about has pits, and stops. its something that, if you cant avoid a collision in the pits...well, you need to go back to school.

thats why you run on intermediates until you know you can run slicks. ;)

Compare the new rules to the old, and they are so much better. No more aggregate times, and more of an emphasis on rider skill and team judgement.
It's true a bit more control is required in the pits, but I would imagine we'll see some new regs to control entry and exit. After all, this is the first time there has been mass pitting in a MotoGP race ever - at least to my knowledge.
