View Full Version : TT World Series Race 9 - running the ring
es nes 04-10-2006, 12:50 AM Triumph Daytona 650RM vs Buel XBR12 RM - Nordschliefe - practice 1 lap
How to take part:
Complete as many laps as you like of Nordschliefe in a Tourist Trophy mode practice session. Then save a 'best lap replay' onto a USB stick from the replay theater area and upload it to TT Replays (http://www.ttbikesim.com/community/). The fastest time wins. Make sure the time submitted is a best lap replay as that ensures the correct lap is saved with the replay, rather than the complete session.
Bike/s you can use:
Triumph Daytona 650RM vs Buel XBR12 RM team mates must use the same bike
Deadline:
The chequered flag is out in 1 week time (Sunday the 8th of October). Any entries submitted after midnight CST will not count.
TT Replays Tag:
All replays for this round should have the tag 'TTWS-ring'. You will be able to enter this when you upload your replay to the site.

CELTIC 04-10-2006, 05:36 PM es nes you muppet
when you cut and paste from previous posts at least reset the dates and track etc ( did someone have a late night ) ;) as it's only 19:50 your time :P
Usul he's used the TTWS - Infinion round Header post ended Aug 13
DJ Baker 04-10-2006, 06:00 PM For his penance, es nes should have to ride the TZ. ;)
callaghan 04-10-2006, 06:03 PM he wasnt feeling too good, so i think he just kinda threw it up real quick. the bikes are the 650 rm triumph, and the buell xb12 rm.
750F-RM 04-10-2006, 08:29 PM ello all :) my first entry for round 9 is
Buell XBR12RM
7:05.678 (http://i54.photobucket.com/albums/g120/750F-RM/MGPB9.jpg)

okay, with a badly butchered first sector, i still managed a 7'03 with the tz250 ... so, i wont argue ;)

indeed, my brain felt like someone burred the hachet in it :?

 Nice Work! Can't blame a guy for trying though. :shifty:
You guys never cease to amaze me. I feel like I'm riding with my hair on fire just trying to get under 7'30. Guess I just have to keep looking for that sweet spot. :?
I don't suppose I can switch to the Buell can I?
750F-RM 05-10-2006, 08:35 PM hi all :) i've improved to 7:03.602 (http://i54.photobucket.com/albums/g120/750F-RM/MGPB9-2.jpg)
DJ Baker 06-10-2006, 05:22 AM I hate it when you make a set-up change that's clearly faster & then can't complete a lap without mowing some grass or binning the bike. :wall:
callaghan 06-10-2006, 04:56 PM been there. i did a 7.03 with two crashes last night. fooled around with suspension a bit, and came up with something awesome, but...there is always a catch. the jumps are a bit random when you land. go figure. doesnt it seem like speed bumps keep popping up out the ground all over the track?
DJ Baker 06-10-2006, 08:26 PM I wish I could manage something close to a 7'03 with a couple crashes just to see what it's like. It's all I can do just to get under 7'30.
This game is fairly unrealistic in the times it will let you run. I think the real motorcycle lap record is a 7'47something. I should be able to go almost 20sec faster than the lap record on a Buell. Let alone you guys turning laps under 7'00. It should be pretty tough to get close to or beat a real lap record IMHO.
es nes 07-10-2006, 12:39 AM I don't suppose I can switch to the Buell can I?
sorry, but, id prefer if you stay with the same bike :?

true, but, i bet you are willing to tke risks in this game, that you wouldnt take in real life. remember...there is no reset button when you crash for real.
es nes 07-10-2006, 05:17 PM have you posted our bike yet calla? :P
The Uncreated 07-10-2006, 05:49 PM the jumps are a bit random when you land. go figure.
Provided one hits the jump squarely, I found that if you push forward on the analog stick slightly while you're in mid air, the bike tends to land smoothly on two wheels. It should allow you to take the jump faster and more stably. Be sure to tuck during the flight as well, so the drag doesn't mess up your trajectory.

The Uncreated 07-10-2006, 06:00 PM This game is fairly unrealistic in the times it will let you run.
I think they're realistic. The tracks appear to be created in a scale nearly identical to their real world counterparts. I ran a time on Valencia (CBR1000RR RM) one second shy of the superbike lap record, and I vicariously got a feeling of exactly how superhuman that real record must have been, because it was hard as hell setting my own time virtually.
Suppose like Cal said, it probably boils down to how much of a chance a rider is willing to take. As perilous as Nurburgring is, I doubt anyone would be silly to push it any harder than the current record holder, Helmut Dahne (7'49).

DJ Baker 07-10-2006, 11:35 PM Most of the real race tracks are probably fairly realistic. For instance, it would be pretty tough to match Hayden's 1'22.8 pole time at Laguna last year, or Capirossi's 1'45.724 pole time at Motegi this year, or Gibernau's 1'31.874 pole time at Valencia last year... I just don't think it's very realistic to be able to go more than a minute faster than the real motorcycle lap record on the ring, IMHO. Kudos to you guys that can do it though.
es nes 08-10-2006, 12:28 AM we dont have motogp style bikes either ;)
callaghan 08-10-2006, 03:46 AM were going to use the 650 if that is ok with you. ;)
750F-RM 08-10-2006, 08:50 AM hi all :) my best time at the moment is 7:02.850
Buell XB12R-RM
Diatribe 08-10-2006, 01:36 PM Sorry for the lack of contact this week DJ, havn't been able to get online.
My lap for the week is a 7:22.368 on the Buell. Had quite a lot of fun riding this bike but any lap quicker than that I tore up some grass on :(
callaghan 08-10-2006, 02:04 PM well, i ve yet to put in a lap without any offs...but here is a 7.01 (http://www.ttbikesim.com/community/single.php/251) with a crash after the long staight.
750F-RM 08-10-2006, 02:12 PM yeah, i've killed a few good laps there too  :D

No complints here, especially considering you chimed in with a lap ~7sec faster than I've managed to turn so far. Nice job!
callaghan 08-10-2006, 02:37 PM ok, finally got more than 10 min. to my self...and turned a 6.59.874. right before flugplatz i kicked up a little grass. i dont think anyone will have any problems with it, but just in case...could someone review it?

750F-RM 09-10-2006, 05:44 AM i didn't improve on my 7:02.850, so here's the replay (http://www.ttbikesim.com/community/single.php/253)
Diatribe 09-10-2006, 05:10 PM well, i ve yet to put in a lap without any offs...but here is a 7.01 (http://www.ttbikesim.com/community/single.php/251) with a crash after the long staight.
Any lap I crashed on I just quit, didn't seem worth carrying on.
Finally started to enjoy this track and with the Buell got pretty close to my absolute best there on the R1, so will have to go back to it for some more.
Congrats on the win :)
CELTIC 09-10-2006, 05:51 PM Calla is es nes ok :?
As he never posted a time and since his last post i don't think he's been online.
It's just all a little bit of a mystery as i don't think he would of missed this as were all very tight at the top of the board.
I just hope he's ok.
If ya hear anything let us know ;)
Congrats on the win btw - sub 7 on the Triumph 8O

callaghan 09-10-2006, 10:00 PM yeah, im not sure what up? i saw that he didnt post a time. i wonder why too, makes me think he really sick or something. nes, you ok?
i just came back from a knee dragging session in the mountains, so ill have the times up later. it was a hell of a time nailing a good lap. ill post up later when i get bak from the store...
es nes 09-10-2006, 11:46 PM sorry, my phone stoped working early sunday morning which means no internet. if its okay id like to submit a 7.06.044 ... i had a lap that would have been a ~7'04 but between the phone company not going to do anything about the phones and getting randomly spit off i just lost the patence ... sorry calla :(
callaghan 10-10-2006, 01:49 AM i dont think its up to me, but obviously i dont have a problem with you submitting a time. i had the same thing happen earlier in the series, when my internet went down in a lightning storm. did you run faster on the buell?
es nes 10-10-2006, 01:58 AM after you told me what you thought you could do, i concentraited on what i could do with the 650rm. i still need to do a leaderboard ... heh.
es nes 11-10-2006, 03:21 AM sorry guys, ill get the suzuka race thread up tomorow but im guessing everyones already got a few laps done.
DJ Baker 11-10-2006, 07:24 AM I've managed to get a few laps in. Unfortunately, I need 10, & clean ones at that, in a row. :wall: Supid AIs!
es nes 12-10-2006, 12:08 AM yeah ... and you cant draft by the cbr-rrw either. heh. i tryed once and ran into t1 at about 100mph not realising T1 was that close. im not sure i even scurbbed that much speed off
