Trick*Star ZX-10R - Suzuka - Special Machine Comp - 10 laps.

Then save the replay onto a USB stick from the replay theater area and upload it to TT Replays (http://www.ttbikesim.com/community/). The fastest time wins. Bike/s you can use:
Trick*Star Kawasaki ZX-10R

Deadline:
The chequered flag is out in 1 week time (Sunday the 15th of October). Any entries submitted after midnight CST will not count.

TT Replays Tag:
All replays for this round should have the tag 'TTWS-8Hour'. You will be able to enter this when you upload your replay to the site.

Well, this is it, the final round. good luck everybody and hopefully the everything will close to the end.

on another note, after this round, im going to put up another spot race. this one will probably last 2 weeks instead of the 1 week break that the last one had.

callaghan
12-10-2006, 02:16 AM
cool, the two week break will allow some of us to take a rest and get some sleep...

i just realized this...you cant change the number on the bike in this last round, can you?

edit...this bike is fucking horrible. pushes like mad, has no grip at the rear, its a joke...

edit again...played for another half hour...and still a crap bike. no wonder kawi is no where in motogp and wsb...

I've won this race on the 7 Honda, & the best I've managed so far on the Kawi is 3rd. Was running 2nd once with just a few turns to go & a stupid AI ran me into the kitty litter.

by then end of the second lap i was in first, but im just not satified with the performance im putting in. the bike seems like it has potential, but its just soooo hard to tap into. im guessing right under 22 minutes will be the goal time.

I'll need to stumble upon a golden set-up tweak to get into the 22s, & I won't get much time in since I'm heading to Chicago Autobahn this weekend to wrap up the track season. Hopefully the hotel TV is PS2 friendly! ;)

On the upside, between AI killing crash sessions at Suzuka, I finally managed to win the last few bikes I needed to get to 100% complete, with all Golds!

my best run had me in the lead on lap 4. i was just trying to be smooth and let the cbr-rrw come to me. lap 8, 9, and 10 were the worst for me because the hard tyres were really worn out and ended up only winning by 1.5 seconds.

DJ - if you can do consistint 2'14s then you should be able to win the race.

callaghan
12-10-2006, 04:08 PM
i was able to pull off consistant 2.11's, but the last two laps were like skating on ice.

And If my Aunt had a penis, Then she'd be my Uncle! ;)

My best lap so far has been a 2'15.719, & I'm far from consistent. Thanks for the goal though.

I realize now that when I won this race on the 7 Honda I was able to qualify & start from Pole Position. PITA AIs are pretty much a non issue then. I've added another one to my collection. Had to go between a fallen AI & his bike! Check it out in the Gallery.

you cant qualify in single races, just championship races and special machine comp isnt a championship ...

I've been practising on the Honda, didn't realize this was Quacker only.

Even on the Honda though I've only managed one (very overcautious and slow) clean race, so this is gonna be hard, especially as I can only use the shared TV in my living room so don't get too much PS2 time.

This would probably be my favourite circuit were it not for the 2 stupid f'n chicanes :@

es nes, i need a decision on an incident i had in my race earlier. last lap (previous 9 clean, no ai contact), i went into the last
chicane a bit too slow

stupidly dabbed the throttle after the first apex, the front went light and i ran off the outside of the track after the chicane

i managed not to fall and regained the track asap, the pic below shows me at my furthest point off track

can i submit this race if it turns out to be my fastest?

i'm hoping to go better and not need this time, but if i don't improve, i need to know if the race is acceptable

tia :)

750f-rm - i know how hard that chicane is because of the slow speeds phyics, not to meantion the lenght of the race itself, but as for that race being legal ... im inclined to say "sorry" :(

bummer, killed it on the last lap  it was a good time too

ok, decision made. i happen to disagree with it, naturally

if it wasn't me, i'd no doubt agree with you

tnx for the prompt reply

i'll just have to do it again, hopefully a bit faster into the bargain 8O :D

Best I've done is 22:16.850, fastest lap a 2:12.077. Started with a 2:14.1xx then put in some consistent mid 13's, before going low on laps 6 and 7 (had a 2:12.7xx as well), then dropped off in the last couple of laps.

Could go faster but that was so mentally draining and the relief to finally put in 10 clean and fast laps was pretty immense, plus it's hard getting free time on the TV so I can't (be bothered to) try and improve, and even if I did I wouldn't be able to submit it as I only have have net access here on campus. Plus at the moment I'm on for second place

my best so far has been 22'35.738 ... i hate suzuka east and im being too cautious through suzuka west. but, at least im not having problems through 130r and the final chicane besides the od wiggle at the apex of 130r.

i have yet to put in a clean run. this has to be the worst bike in the game. its so inconsistant...i cant even use the same braking markers on every lap. one lap i use the 100 meter marker and make the corner, the next, i blow through it with 30 mph too much speed. like the brakes dont work. just and overall peice of shit bike. i am still 1.5 seconds faster on the r1 rm here, on hards.

I hope to never have to ride this bike again! To satisfy my curiosity, I was able to win the race on the 7 Honda in just a couple attempts. Best I could manage on the ill handling, inconsistent Kaw was a distant 2nd. Hopefully it was enough to maintain my/our positions...

tnx calla :) i thought i'd thrown it away at citta and amalfi. i put in a lot of work for round 10 because i
just had to win it to stand a chance of the championship

then you have the virtual equivalent of a last minute mechanical failure. so, an element of luck involved
in my title. but that's racing eh?

i believe that team hazard have clinched the team title too. well done to my teamy, celtic :D

i go to work a happy man 8O :D

Once I got used to the understeering and put all my suspension settings to 1, I quite enjoyed the bike. Was quite consistent with laptimes and on every lap I peaked at 186/7mph on the front straight, and 185/6mph on the back. Did take a while getting used to the Spoon though, but just hugged the apex on the long right beforehand then straightened up and broke real early.

I'll get my replay up tomorrow, wasn't expecting to finish so high, and I'm off to London for the day soon to see Charlton at Fulham :D

DJ Baker
16-10-2006, 01:03 PM
Putting any suspension setting on a race bike on full soft just defies logic to me, so I would have never got to that point. Kudos to you for being open minded enough to try! Of course, I wouldn't know a Charlton from a Fulham if I bumped into one either. ;)

Congratulations to my Team Mate 750F ;) the Dr of the MotoGP Boards :D

my teammate, nes, for holding it down, and helping out, you also put in a great season!...

and everyone else too, thanx for the help with PAL replays, you know who you are...(i.e. i forgot who i asked each round...)

its nice to look back and see where everyone is strong and weak. i can say its was very fun, if not frustrating at times. i look foward to the next series, and what it will bring to the table. cheers!

Congrats to 750F-RM & Team Hazard on their hard fought championships!

Kudos to Team TTWSO for being in the thick of it every week, & to Callaghan for the good sportsmanship in excluding himself from the final race results!

Many thanks to Diatribe for helping put Backmarker Racing on the Podium in the Team Championship, & not joining the series a week or two earlier & knocking me out of the top 5 in the Individual Championship. ;)
Nice job shaking things up in the final race too!

Very enjoyable & well run series! Would have been interesting if some of the guys like Manters, Rare White Ape, Loxley, Spire & Usul would have run the whole series, not to mention if some of them would have joined forces. I'm looking forward to the next series. Hopefully I can manage to get off the bottom of the weekly charts once in a while. ;)
