Matt W. 15-10-2006, 03:14 AM Was farting about with the R1 at Suzuka tonight.
Ran couple of 2:13's, and I think that's all I've got. Did things that I thought should never be possible. Getting sideways at 100mph is errrr....interesting. Is 2:13 a decent time? What's competitive in the 1000 class??? Just wondering how I stack up against the "big boys" of TT.
I know I can go faster, {can't we all???:D} but this is pretty much my confortable pace, much else and I'll be pulling a rabbit out of my ass.
-Decado- 15-10-2006, 03:51 AM I enjoy Suzuka... not sure why but something special about it. I wish there were less tracks in Japan and more from Europe but I always want Suzuka, it's cool.
2"12.3xx with a R6 RM and 2'09.xxx with a 1000RR RM.
es nes 15-10-2006, 05:25 AM i guess my 2'09 with the r1 rm isnt too far off then, but, iirc, in the tt sbk race they were doing 2'09s with mediums.
Matt W. 15-10-2006, 05:48 PM This is pissing me off!
How do I turn off the fucking "ghost" in practice??? That is so retarded.
es nes 15-10-2006, 06:09 PM click the right thumb stick :)
Matt W. 15-10-2006, 06:15 PM click the right thumb stick :)
Thanks.
Still in the 13's. The bike turns to Jello once you start pushing. Time to hit Callagahn for some chassis/suspension settings. Haha! :)
es nes 15-10-2006, 06:35 PM stiff and low ;)

The Uncreated 15-10-2006, 08:49 PM stiff and low ;)
Curious. My own suspension settings don't change from track to track. They're based around Nurburgring, namely cotton soft and moderately high, but any harder and I find the bike control becomes hella unpredictable.

es nes 15-10-2006, 09:53 PM to each their own, i generally stay towards the middle of the range for tracks like nordschliefe and deep forest, but, slightly stiffer for smooth tracks like gvs and HSR. at hsr, it seems to help stop the random standing up in the middle of the banked corners.
Matt W. 22-10-2006, 11:14 PM I went back to a 600, did some 15's on it, but I thought I picked up some speed that will help me with the 1000's.
I picked the CBR1000R Suzuka bike, and put some 12's in. Then, finally got a lap toghethee. 2:10.3. Pretty good, IMHO.
I know it's a fast bike, but I suck so I need all the advanatge I can get!!! :P
es nes 22-10-2006, 11:33 PM fwiw - i managed a 2'08.5 with the cbr-rrw.
callaghan 22-10-2006, 11:35 PM right now i run the r1 rm with these for suzuka
8/7
4/8
8/6
3/4
this will be good for this track only though. be careful at the chicanes, as it will flop hard from side to side.
also, your rider form has a lot to do with how this bike handles.

Thanks for letting me know. I guess...

es nes 23-10-2006, 02:47 AM something to aim for ;)
Matt W. 23-10-2006, 03:28 AM Just did a 10.2 on the R1.
Callaghan's settings. Very nice set up dude. Bike is piss easy to ride, and easy to ride consistently. I could probably run 11's "all day long" on that bike, due to the sweet set up.
callaghan 23-10-2006, 03:36 AM cool, glad you like it. now you can just fine tune it, just bumping one number at a time til you get it to exactly where you like it.
es nes 26-10-2006, 04:27 PM i did a few laps last night with the Aprilia RSV1000R Factory RM and the best i could manage was a 2'13.9. im sure theres more in her, but, she just feels soooo slughish to do anything. whats even more frustraiting is that no matter how much better it feels like i take suzuka east section, im always at a low/mid 58 first sector.
but, on the plus side, shell carry good speed through 130r easyly and brake later in the last chicane than any of the other litre bikes.
Diatribe 29-10-2006, 11:28 PM Just had a quick go with Callaghan's YSP settings, very nice :)
Did a 2:09.6xx after only trying a couple of laps, so there's plenty more time to be dropped. Not used to riding a set up that stiff either so may have to soften it a wee bit. Thanks for the help :D
callaghan 29-10-2006, 11:56 PM glad it helped man. as mentioned earlier, diatribe, it may need a little adjustment to suit it to how you, personally, like to ride it. just keep in mind, small adjustments will make a big difference.
lharder7 14-11-2006, 02:00 AM Hey... I'm new to the forum... actually pretty new to this whole computers thing lol... thought i'd ask, what's a good lap time at Valencia on the 1000's RM???
callaghan 14-11-2006, 02:43 AM scan through this (http://www.motogpboards.com/showthread.php?t=280) thread, and you shall be enlightened. were trying to break into the 1.33 range.
es nes 14-11-2006, 03:54 AM what thread?

callaghan 10-12-2006, 06:48 AM testing the 600rr rm at suzuka and ragged edge has dipped to 2.11.227. more to follow after the rain lets up.
mthielen 10-12-2006, 09:20 AM these times your posting are those semi-pro or pro?
callaghan 10-12-2006, 04:04 PM this is pro mode. i was testing the 600 for the upcoming series. all of my posted times will be and always have been in pro mode. i prefer to use pro mode over the others.
mthielen 16-12-2006, 07:07 PM i can see that i'm enjoying now pro mode over semi pro too, it's more a chllenge and i'm almost as fast as in semi pro. So i think i'll stay in pro too :D
Immigrant 30-12-2006, 06:53 AM 2'09.036

The Uncreated 30-12-2006, 08:19 PM just asking but pro mode or semi-pro mode?
