View Full Version : Hayden Out!!!!!!!!!!!!!
One of the most ridiculous things i have ever seen in GP racing, well, ever since Criville took Doohan out anyways nearly 10yrs to the day.
Dani Pedrosa, i've been saying that he's a loose cannon.......... he'll be lucky to get out of that pit alive i reckon.
I'm still shaking my head..... i can't beleive that Dani even considered that move 2 laps in:eek:
callaghan 15-10-2006, 12:23 PM unbelieveable!!! if i was dani...id have a restraining order on hayden, just to protect his life. one more reason to lynch him.

Did you see how psycho Nicky was walking out of the gravel????? Goodness i've never seen anyone that angry......... and Pete Benson saying F**k on live TV and just reaming Dani?
How on earth are they gonna co-exist in the same pit now? Honda are gonna have to separate them.
I'm not predicting anything championship wise yet, after today, anything is now possible.
Holy crap!
To be taken out is one thing, but by your teammate and Honda's golden boy... unbelievable. Dani didn't seem to have any desire to stick around and apologise, but then I guess slipping into preservation mode is understandable at a time like that.
And there's still 10 laps left as I'm typing this!

MOTOGP News Sunday, 15th October 2006
Pedrosa takes out Hayden!
Hayden and Pedrosa, Spanish MotoGP, 2006
Dani Pedrosa has made one of the biggest mistakes ever seen in modern motorcycle grand prix racing - after smashing into team-mate Nicky Hayden early in the Portuguese Grand Prix and so destroying the American's world championship lead.
Hayden came into the penultimate race of the season with a 12 point lead over Valentino Rossi, who is now leading the race from Camel Yamaha team-mate Colin Edwards. Hayden was third at the time of the accident, which occurred when Pedrosa lost the front of his Repsol Honda while trying to re-pass the American on the inside as they entered a left hand turn.
The pass was never realistically going to work and Dani slammed, having lost the front, slammed into the side of Hayden, sending them both cartwheeling into the gravel. Hayden was apoplectic with rage, removing his helmet and screaming with frustration. It must have taken every inch of his restraint to avoid throttling the young Spaniard.
Should Rossi win he will take a 13 point lead over Hayden into the Valencia season finale.
I tell you what... if Elias takes the win then he might just leapfrog Dani in the HRC popularity rankings. ;)
I tell you what... if Elias takes the win then he might just leapfrog Dani in the HRC popularity rankings. ;)
waste of time for him now, he's lost his seat for next year. Riders like him amuse me, they sit back and do f**k all all season, then when contract time comes along, they pull their fingers out.
Ridiculous.
The way he's riding, he won't be upright for long...........
Nothing's certain yet. There are still Honda seats available.
I wish he'd f**k off.................. he's making me nervous charging around and running deep into corners...... Dani MKII?
I disagree, I love watching riding like this. :P :D
As a Valentino worshipper...... i don't like seeing these midfielders running kamikaze at the front.............
Bloody Kenny Jnr now.......... go away
 These are the benefits of being pretty much impartial. I really don't care who wins so long as the racing's good.
Kenny leads!
Incredible last lap coming up.............
callaghan 15-10-2006, 12:47 PM my motogp.com live feed just went to shit about 20 min. ago. i cant watch a damn thing!!! this is pissing me off.
Son of a bitch. Elias what a joke. Nowhere since his career in MotoGP began..................... why now?
F**k me 2 thousandths of a second at the tape.
Don't read the rest of my post if you don't want a spoiler callaghan ;)
Oh my fucking god!!! Elias! What a final lap! Third to first in a corner! .... Insane.
anyone pick the 100 to 1 shot? no, i didn't think so.
Elias has always been a great rider, he just hasn't been able to hold it together for the full distance in GP before today. Remember he had a ride through penalty a while back and still only just missed out on the podium.
Stunning race. One of the best finishes to a race that I can remember. Well done to Elias and to Rossi too. I love that the doc had the balls to keep pushing to the very end when really he had to be thinking about the points.

agreed.
but i'd prefer Vale to be 13 points ahead instead of 8.
callaghan 15-10-2006, 12:54 PM i am going to commit murder on my cable company!!! i will talk to you guys from jail!
Great show of sportsmanship by Vale too just then in parc ferme...
Hehe I can appreciate that. For me though, the closer the championship is going into Valencia, the better. ;)
A great ride by Kenny Junior too.
sorcerer 15-10-2006, 12:56 PM i am going to commit murder on my cable company!!! i will talk to you guys from jail!
My damn Motogp.com live web cast took a sh*t too! I couldn't be more pissed right now!!!

Agreed. Vale's a racer at the end of the day and you KNOW he enjoyed that. Plus Elias is nowhere in the championship. ;)
I still can't beleive that move by Dani. Still amazed.
My damn Motogp.com live web cast took a sh*t too! I couldn't be more pissed right now!!!
Welcome to the boards btw sorcerer. Sorry to hear that MotoGP.com screwed up yet again. :?
callaghan 15-10-2006, 01:04 PM welcome sorcerer, sorry to hear you didnt see the race either.
 @ Vale in the press conference.
sorcerer 15-10-2006, 01:16 PM Welcome to the boards btw sorcerer. Sorry to hear that MotoGP.com screwed up yet again. :?
Thanks for the welcome. Wish it could have been under better circumstances.
I couldn't feel any worse for Nicky. Dani is amazingly talented but simply is an asshole that doesn't care about anything else but his own success. Yes it is racing, but you just don't do that to your team mate. I wish Nicky went to Yamaha for next year, anyone but the cold hearted Honda robots.
Ok, I'm done.
Bear in mind that Nicky made the exact same move on Dani the lap before, I guess Dani figured that 'if it worked once'. His timing was miles off though, it just wasn't going to work. :?
Races like that make me seriously regret the fact that there's only the one race left this season. :(
callaghan 15-10-2006, 01:29 PM i agree sorcerer, even though its racing, that is a dumb move (understated) to go up the inside like that, and take nicky out. that pass would have never worked anyway, and on the second or third lap...hes fvcking crazy. it is the passing racers responsibility to make it a safe and (clean) pass, and obviously pedrosa did not make it safe. i feel real bad for hayden, i think he could have done good, maybe not won, but get a decent result, and lessen the damage by rossi...but it was not to be. now to see if hayden can come back and beat rossi by 9 points to win the champoinship. historically, valencia is not rossis favorite track, and hayden has finished ahead of him there before, so heres hoping...
callaghan 15-10-2006, 01:31 PM Races like that make me seriously regret the fact that there's only the one race left this season. :(
rub it in why dont ya... ;)
edit: ill have to download the race later, when motogp.com is back up and running. apparently, it was their site that went down, not my cable company...so ill forgive them for now.
ADIFIC 15-10-2006, 01:50 PM id like to say what dani has done is like rossi in his rookie season, the race where he was a blue flower lol. very wet and no need to push, instead he pushed and fell. stupid rookie mistakes. only rossi wasnt on the verge of a title. as a true rossi fan i see this as compensation for ALL the bad luck this year. he is still so far above the rest and its his yamy that has hurt him this year. if not for the dnf's. he'd have won the title today. no doubt.
well this is how i see things anyway.
DANI YOU IDIOT!
GOOD LUCK ROSSI!!!!
btw. this is my first post.:)
Rare White Ape 15-10-2006, 03:11 PM Man, what a retarded race! I'm still typing here in disbeleif... I don't think anyone could have done a stupider thng at a more critical time. I used to be a bit of a Pedrosa fan untill tonight and never really had any fond thoughts of Mr Hayden, but now I actually feel a little sorry for the guy.
It's a weird thing for me because I am dearly hoping that Rossi wins this championship and I was having a little bit of hope that Hayden would crash or something. But when it does actually happen it feels a lot different to what you expect it to feel.
And I've go to make a comment about Elias. Where was this pace over the last 10 months? I have a lot of direspect for racers that pull their fingers out come contract neg. time, Giancarlo Fisichella-style.
Diatribe 15-10-2006, 03:29 PM Pedrosa gave an interview with BBC (whose coverage I absolute hate, Charlie Cox is a grade A retard), he apparently wasn't trying to make a pass but went in too hot, clipped the curb and the rear wheel came up, taking him offline and into Hayden.
While I really, really feel for Hayden, that was essentially as racing incident, and not a Lorenzo style suicide attack.
Anyway, :D for Toni Elias!
callaghan 15-10-2006, 03:52 PM still, when in his position (your teammate fighting for his first motogp championship) you need to think about these things...'gee, if i take him out, i will have ruined his championship. im not a contender...so...'
i still think it was one of the dumbest moves ever...
to520fan 15-10-2006, 06:38 PM Do you think right now, Nicky is wondering why he renewed his contract with Honda? Maybe making that phone call to Yamaha asking if the seat is still availible?
With Teammates like that, who needs competitors!
es nes 15-10-2006, 06:54 PM so, long story short ... nickys screwed and we wont see a #1 plate again next year?

My sentiments exactly ! 8O

Sounds like good'ol bullshit to me.
The beeb website has an interview up with Nicky here: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/motorsport/motorbikes/6053098.stm
That's one pissed off guy. You can be sure that Honda will be out in force at Valencia. Maybe a quick note to all of their riders stating "Fellas, if you were to accidentally knock Valentino off at some point you might see a certain improvement in your bank balance." ;)
Valencia's going to be the biggest race for years. Can't fooking wait. :D
Edit: Btw, welcome to the boards to520fan & ADIFIC. :)

Dom, i was speaking to my uncle this afternoon regarding your last statement......... he's been watching Gp's for the best part of 30 yrs and that was the first thing he said to me....... watch out for the shenanigans this weekend at Valencia.
I've got a nasty feeling that it's going to turn pear-shaped for Valentino. Perhaps Loris could lend a hand?

i dont think so. loris and rossi are best mates. rossi regards him as his closest frien in motogp. i think loris would actually try to help rossi if anything. seta on the other hand. who knows with him. although he would have to get near rossi and ever since rossi told him he will never win again. well, you all know th rest.
i think it will be an exciting race but i dont think there will be any "shenanigans" between the title contenders.

ermmmmm.... thats lend a hand to Valentino ADIFIC. It's common knowledge that Vale and Loris are tight......

lol. oops, my bad. yes . lend a hand.
I've never really like Dani even though he's a good rider. I read a statement he made on the motogp website saying that was the first time he has ever hit another rider. But I recall him being in an incident in 250s(or was it 125s) I can't remember the exact race. I want to say it was between him and Toni Elias, I think. Somebody help with my memory
There's a replay of the crash (http://video.google.co.uk/videoplay?docid=419318574025504961&q=pedrosa+crash) up from the Eurosport UK feed on G video for anyone who fancies watching stupidity at its finest. Can't help but cringe every time I see it.

He's been on the recieving end a couple of times, and does have a bit of a history with Elias after being teammates in 125's though I can't remember specifics.
Just that I think Elias took him out at the Melbourne Loop at Donington a couple of years back, and Lorenzo did at Motegi last year?
What was the race at Donington where I think Poggiali kicked out at Elias (I think) or vice versa?
Yamahamer-AL 19-10-2006, 08:08 PM Nick should have beat the piss out of Dani where he stood. period.
oh well, GO VALLE!
Ed Hopper 20-10-2006, 05:42 AM I may be in a minority here but having watched the crash many many times I think Pedrosa saw a gap and went for it and if he had`nt clipped the kerb it would have been a brilliant overtake......I cant stand the miserable little sh1te but he can ride a bike.

Welcome Ed to the forums.........
i'd have to disagree with the above, and if Dani did see a gap he must have dreamed it up!!!!. He was way too far back to even contemplate going up the inside of Nicky.........
I agree on the last statement though........... begrudgingly.
Welcome to the boards Ed. Have to say, in my mind there was no overtaking opportunity there and Dani rode straight into a gap that didn't exist. And I actually think Dani's a pretty reasonable guy, it's just that once he gets his race face on it's all business.
Edit: Looky what I found on another forum.

Gold Dom.......... but geez that might just blow up in the creators face if HRC go Hayden/Pedrosa 1-2 next week:eek:
I don't like pre-empting anything these days in motorsport after the last month of both F1 and MotoGP:shifty:

first off, welcome to the boards.
i would agree with you on that point, but then i watched the after race interveiw with pedrosa, and his statement was that he braked later than hayden in that corner, started to brake too much, and lifted the rear wheel. when it came back down, it unloaded the front, and that is when he lost it. he was not intending to pass hayden there, but that his braking point was deeper than haydens.

Thanks for the welcome(s)...this seems a friendly welcoming forum.
Re Pedrosas statement...I think I would have said something similar had I been in his situation, having said that his bike telemetry would give some indication as to whether it happened as he described so I`ll give him the benefit of the doubt...I`m sure he`ll be relieved when he finds out.
I missed this earlier in the week but it seems that Elias has indeed been confirmed for Fortuna next year (as has Melandri, so no changes in that garage). The things a win will do.
I've got a nasty feeling that it's going to turn pear-shaped for Valentino.
damn me and my premonitions.......
