Offical Tourst Trophy Street Series rules

http://xs208.xs.to/xs208/06432/TTSS.jpg (http://xs.to)
thanks, CELTIC!

How to compete: every race will be held in TT Mode > racing

replays will be required for the podium finishers and will be greatlly appercatited, but not nesacary, from everyone off the podium. to get a replay onto your pc you will need a compatable usb flash card. simply save the replay to the memory card, then in replay theatre on the main menu. select the transfer replay from memory card to usb option (second or thrid icon from the bottum iirc) then upload the replay.dat file to http://www.ttbikesim.com/community/ replays can be vareifed by anyone, but, only callaghan and myself maye disqualify a replay. if a PAL user has issues with another PAL replay, then please send a private message to me (es nes or callaghan) with pictures and a brief report of the problem and ill look into it.

Failuire condictions and automatic/manual shifting are up to the riders prefernce. however, everyone must use pro mode controller setting to ensure everyone has the same base level grip.

running way off track, even on pavement, will be considered the same as running way off course on to dirt/grass. if you are uncertain, please feel free to ask. also, no cone killing. curbing is usually fine, but, cutting turn 4 at deep forest for example is off limits. you can use the ais lines for refernce some times. refering to deep forest example again, the ai dont cut turn 4.

the ai ... you cannot hit the ai to move them out of the way. if they hit you while making a clean pass because they never adjust their lines while your around, then, thats a case by case. but, always try to stay clean with the ai.

Riders:

callaghan
CELTIC
750F-RM

Matt W.

Schdule:
Moriwaki CBR600RR @ Suzuka West (street 750cc or under)

Honda CBR954 Fireblade @ Trial Mountain (street 1000cc or under)
Yamaha XJR1300 @ High Speed Ring (street unlimited)
Kawasaki Z1000 @ Tsukuba (street unlimited)

For each race, Championship points will be awarded on the following scale :
1st 25 points
2nd 20 points
3rd 16 points
4th 13 points
5th 11 points
6th 10 points
7th 9 points
8th 8 points
9th 7 points
10th 6 points
11th 5 points
12th 4 points
13th 3 points
14th 2 points
15th 1 points

A word on off going off track and walls: its fine to kick up a little dirt here and there on exit or from turning in too soon. but, the lap time/race will be disqualified if you go more than aproximately foot off track. you may not hit/touch the walls. if you crash, that lap/race is also disqualifed.

Setup and form to be used with that race will be posted as the first replay in the race thread.

Qualifing:
Since every race is will be a multi-lap race, i will be including qualifing. simply take the post form and set up to practice in tt mode > track > free run. since qualifing will be 1 lap, your qualifing run must be 100% pole clean. pole sitter gets 1 bonus point.

HAVE FUN!

i'm in :D you're not going for defaults on bike set up and rider form now?

re: my number for the next race bike series. lazy soul that i am, i cba to
get the #1 plate for any bikes that i might have to use so...

my old number 40, plus the 1 i got for winning the ttws gives me #41 8O

i am in too. can i have number 33?

edit: umm, yeah, i was just kidding about that number thing...

750, i believe that we are going to use a set rider form, in hopes that we can all understand what the different adjustments in bike setup do. but ill have to get es nes to confirm that.

well, since road bikes dont have number plates ;)

and, yeah, were not going to use default set up/form anymore. im, a bit a selfishly, using this to help improve what i know of set ups and form. Calla is also going to be seting up two bikes to add vareity in set up styles. :)

which is why i said the next race bike series :D

if you and calla sort set ups, could it not be that you may (unconciously, of course) set the bikes and forms to suit yourselves?

that's why default settings and form were the best way, imho :)

i understand where you are coming from 750. what i am actually trying to do is make them rideable for everyone. i believe that you will be able to adjust what you want, but we are submitting setting and such for people to try out, so those that arent good at setups, and those that cant get the bikes to do what they want, can get a better idea of what does what for the bikes.

or course, if you dont like how the bike has been set up, then, per the first post, you may change you rider form, and bike setups, as well as tyres...though youll only be able to use performance or street...and i think there really is no choice there.

hm ... did i miss something?

callaghan
23-10-2006, 01:08 AM
uhh, i dont think so, did you? at first i thought it was a 5 race series based on a set form and bike set up. then i saw that you asked me to set up some bikes using a form you sent me, and then i read the first post in this thread, and it says that you can adjust everything (it looks like you cut and pasted from the last series, cuz it refers to the 10 lap race at suzuka).

es nes
23-10-2006, 02:30 AM
doh ... so i did. is there anything else i missed? :(

callaghan
23-10-2006, 03:22 AM
to be honest, if i am going to set a bike up for a round, i will try to make it as balanced as possible, meaning the bike will not be great on any one aspect. certain tracks match certain bikes, like the way i think the cbr1000rr matches motegi, because it can get off the corners soo damn well, and that is the key to a fast time (for me) at that track. instead of doing that here, i will just make the bike behave as neutral as possible, so different riding styles will have to compensate for the bike. the other thing i was thinking of is that i can propose a few different set ups to another member, whether es nes, or someone else (750F-RM ;) ) and let them dedcide, just so we have a different opinion. how about it?

es nes
23-10-2006, 06:28 PM
thats fine http://www.motogpboards.com/images/icons/icon14.gif i couldnt give the moriwaki cbr a lot of oversteer, so i just tryied to make it balanced but still slip a little due to the seat position.

callaghan - just send me the set ups you think will work the best for the race http://www.motogpboards.com/images/icons/icon14.gif

sounds good to me. for what its worth, i was able to get the xjr1300 to be quite entertaining while still being fast. its definitely on the loose side.

Sounds great! Count me in!! I think my rider form is within a few tweaks of being pretty good, but my set-ups suck ass. This should be an eye opener.

Been busy during the off-season...

18hrs into a 24hr endurance race at the Nurburgring in GT4. Running the BMW M3 GTR Race Car, in appreciation of the Hans Stuck qualifying video. I'm 3 laps up & basically just putting in laps & goofing off at this point. I wish we could so this in TT!

Also picked up the new toy shown in my avatar. It's aKTM NSR550: '88 NSR250 chassis, '91 KTM550 2-stroke single, 230lbs dry, just short of 75hp at the wheel. Should be a blast to ride! Previous owner said, "When the front end gets more than 2ft off the ground, just Shift."

callaghan
27-10-2006, 04:52 AM
nice bike man!!! do you race? wera, ama?

DJ Baker
27-10-2006, 05:15 AM
AMA? :hand:

I'll race it in WERA Clubman & Formula Old Fart, maybe some local CCS races, & FASTTRAX Endurance Races at Nelson Ledges

Mostly, I instruct for Sportbike Track Time. Did 33 track days this summer! All before I got the KTM/NSR though. :( Might take it down to Jennings GP the first weekend of next month though, if I get my not so pretty ebay bodywork & tank in time.

callaghan
27-10-2006, 05:28 AM
the first weekend in november...i might be going, that is, if i can get someone to trailer my bike there. (matt, you listening?) thats awesome. what is your fav.track?

DJ Baker
27-10-2006, 05:46 AM
Mid-Ohio, hands down! My first time there this year, after the repave, I giggled like a little girl the first few laps. Then I got up to speed & realized my let-off reference points were no longer there. Went 2.3sec faster on Pilot Powers than I had the previous year on slicks!

Keep me posted on Jennings. & let me know where you're coming from, in case I know someone coming that way.

callaghan
30-10-2006, 03:34 AM
ok, put the first thread up, and we can start it on each sunday, and maybe have them end on sat. night? a week for each? will there be a set date for posting a qualifying time, or is it just a fast lap gets a point thing (in practice mode?)

Aye. Gonna have to be buying me an extra TV I think. Though mainly for Pro Evo 6, but that will probably destroy any hopes of leaving the house within the next month.
