i heard about it a few days ago, and i dont believe they will be using the same bike. maybe as close as they will get considering its an 800...but i think that they will still have "second hand" stuff given to them. probably next year, the pramac team will have a bike that is equivalent to this years factory bike. thats my guess.

well, this years bike wasnt that slow so if they have the factory teams engine with last years chassis hopefully they should be around team kr's pace?

actually they'll "finally" be like the HONDA satellite teams... runnin the same bikes and tyres...now granted if the main DUCS get a new part or goodies they won't get passed down.....but they'll be 10 times better than the 1 and 2 year crap bikes they've had...and off the Dunlops.

I`m stunned Barros has `bought` himself a ride with D`Antin. It has to be a huge step backwards for him...I suppose he`ll look at it as retiring whilst a MotoGP rider and not a WSB type.

Wow. I'm surprised. He seemed to finally be getting to grips with WSB towards the end of the season and I wouldn't have expected him to head straight back to GP.

Ed, where'd you see anything to suggest Barros 'bought' the ride? I can't find any articles that say anything along those lines.

It'll be fantastic to see the d'Antin riders on a more even playing field next year. With any luck the 800s will provide an even closer fight than we have seen in recent years. (Sure it's been close at the front but you KNOW the Duke #2 team and the Tech 3 riders will struggle to match the pace of the bigger teams... exceptional performances from Checa excluded :P)

to me, Team KR is the top Honda satalite team. granted, they arent using hrc chassis, but, they are using hrc engine and electronics ...

Barros didn't "buy" into any ride....Ed Hoppers drunk. hehe

i dont think Ed meant "bought" in the past tense of "buy" sense. i think he meant it as sarcasm.

lmao, Dom...you said exceptional, and Checa in the same sentence...(im not a fan of his...)

D`Antin is`nt a well funded team and its well known that you have to bring something substantial, in the the form of personal sponsorship, to their party. Oh, and I`ve stopped posting whilst drunk...its slightly less dangerous than driving whilst drunk.

Makes sense Ed, I just wonder whether Alex is the sort of rider to put cash on the table to 'ease along' negotiations. He's known for being one of the wealthiest riders around and that can only be because he's willing to put his foot down 'til he gets the pay cheque he wants. Maybe he just feels as if he's coming towards the end of his career and wants to finish in GPs.

Checa's done a fantastic job this year and fully deserves the LCR ride in 2007. Sure he has done a pretty poor job in the past (I remember watching him bin that fancy Spiderman liveried bike last year ) but this is racing and only the current season matters.

i would have thought that LCR would have been the first behind the factory HRC bikes............. given that they are using the whole package of engine, elec and chassis?

i didnt say he didnt do an exceptional job...just that i dont like him. to be honest i havent really followed him that much, so i dont know what he has or hasnt accomplished. i know it sounded like i was disagreeing with you, but i wasnt. i just got a chuckle out of it, thats all.
