Qualifing - Complete as many laps as youd like of Trial Mountain in a Tourist Trophy Street > practice > free run. is that performance front/street (road, normal) rear?
if so, it's slidey time :D 8O
callaghan 12-11-2006, 07:50 PM no, i dont think you can choose the front and rear seperately on the road bikes. its should be the performance tyres.
750F-RM 12-11-2006, 07:54 PM ok tnx, what about the exhaust?
edit: ah, my bad. it's tyres/exhaust
es nes 12-11-2006, 07:56 PM doh ... stock exhaust
callaghan 12-11-2006, 08:23 PM are we allowed to use the yellow striped off area before the tunnel? or do we need to steet clear of the white line?
750F-RM 12-11-2006, 09:02 PM are we allowed to use the yellow striped off area before the tunnel?
i hope so, otherwise i've just wasted 1/2 an hour :D

es nes 12-11-2006, 09:10 PM lets just say anything paved is legal? what line does the ai take?
Diatribe 12-11-2006, 10:09 PM Had a quick go earlier and I'm 7 seconds a lap down on what I am on the 250 with my settings at Trial Mountain. Gonna be veeery tough to put in a competitive time.
CELTIC 13-11-2006, 12:23 AM Had time for an hour and best so far :
1:33:778 Qualifier after about 10 laps
4:49:270 Race after Running 2 Races
PS - the bike were running is the 02 version ?
callaghan 13-11-2006, 12:37 AM yes, the cbr 954 fireblade '02 is the bike we are using.
CELTIC 13-11-2006, 12:45 AM Cheers Calla Best to play it safe :P
mthielen 13-11-2006, 01:59 PM yea i'm gonna play it safe to this round not that i'll be disqualified again like in round 2, to bad thou i was clearly faster on my favourite track and on my favourite bike,
but i was disqualified and for good reasons, hopefully i'll do as good this round
Good luck to everyone
Diatribe 13-11-2006, 04:10 PM 4:52.xxx my fastest so far. Am quickest on my first lap, ever so slightly slower on my second but then drop about 4 seconds on my last :(
callaghan 13-11-2006, 04:52 PM this is probably my favorite track out of the originals in TT.
down to the 4.47 mark, but again, i have a faster race lap than my qualifyer. so i can only get a 1.34.4x in qualifying, but have a 1.33 fast lap in the race.
callaghan 13-11-2006, 07:14 PM rider: callaghan

edit: im thinking i should probably pull myself out of the points for these last three races. i was the one to set the bikes up, and i probably have a lot more time (by a couple of weeks) practicing at these last three tracks, and i think its a bit unfair. i will still post times and stuff, but i wont include them in the points race.
750F-RM 13-11-2006, 07:32 PM all the more reason to go for defaults on both bike and form, if we do another spec series i'd say :)

callaghan 13-11-2006, 09:10 PM all the more reason to go for defaults on both bike and form, if we do another spec series i'd say :)
maybe, but i am way too picky to live with default setting on the bikes. to me, they handle like junk that way, (though some are liveable.) just my opinion.
DJ Baker 13-11-2006, 09:23 PM Since were at Trial Mountain, I thought this was a Trials event. ;)

Classy Move! I was shocked to see you off the podium last week. By the way, the Set-Up & Form for this week are Sweet! This thing was a pig when I was playing around on it before the settings were posted. Got anything for the R1 RM you're willing to throw my way?

I think its only fair. the bike and i didnt get along too well last week. i like the mv, but not with the settings this bike had. the front end feel is awesome with the mv.
i am glad you like the bike set up. again, i tried for a real rideable bike, no surprises. the gearing on 4th, 5th and 6th are so close, i slightly overgeared it in case someone was getting that massive drive onto that back straight, they would have that gear. it definitely needs heavier springs, thats for sure. (throw some .95s in the front...;) )
what track would you like setting for on the R1 rm? just shoot me a pm for some tracks.

I won't post yet as I'm bound to beat it :D
callaghan 14-11-2006, 01:29 AM well, i dont think the preload being upped helped that much. its really that the spring rate is too soft. i was also dragging the pipe, and pegs, and swingarm, and bar ends...

Hi!
Can you explain the bike setup a little more? What exactly is 8/8, 5/5, 3/4?
Thanks
Andy
DJ Baker 14-11-2006, 02:37 PM They are the spec suspension settings.

callaghan 14-11-2006, 04:56 PM the numbers for the form are as they would be going from the top of the list, to the bottom.
Diatribe 14-11-2006, 05:06 PM I've managed to find my groove a bit more with this form and setup now, down to 4:47.761 (1:35.0, 1:34.6, 1:38.1). Again though I'm struggling on worn tyres :(

Hey everyone
U guys are just too fast for me. I can only manage 1.35,1 in free run,
way off the pace, so I'll pass on this one:cry:
Ca you give me some advice because I'm trying really hard but my
lap times are stil very bad:(

That isn't adjustable on this bike, or many of the road ones.
And P182, just give it a go, 1:35.1's a damn good time, I know how hard it is to go that low. Maybe download a replay or 2 to see what lines people are taking then keep trying; I always get pissed off and think I can't be bothered trying anymore then go back and chop off a few seconds.
All I can suggest is brake early and get out of the turns fast, while going through as many turns as possible without letting go of X and just applying the front and rear brakes as necessary; on this circuit I can get to turn 5 without going off the throttle, but it's after that that I start losing time on the other guys.
And welcome to the boards :)
Diatribe 14-11-2006, 11:22 PM Just put in a qualifier of 1:32.979 (18.663, 41.721, 1:11.262).
Really didn't like this form and set up to begin with but am coming to really enjoy it.
CELTIC 14-11-2006, 11:30 PM Anyone else having problems with the ai @ turn 5 ?
The MV Turned in on me from this position catching my rear quarter and I was wondering what the Mods would decide in this situation as I clearly have the corner
Q :- 1:32:301
R :- 4:44:005 - 1:34:380 - 1:33:669 - 1:35:956
callaghan 15-11-2006, 01:46 AM if you are "going up the inside," its all good. thats one problem that the AI has, they dont realize that you are going to do that, and plow right into you. now, if you used the AI as a wall of some sorts, then its not allowed, but i know what the AI does at that corner. ;) its even worse trying to pass the aprillia at turn three, you almost have to go around the outside.
Diatribe 15-11-2006, 10:11 AM Finished my first essay of the week last night and rewarded myself with an hour or two on this, and a 4:45.586 (1:34.908, 1:33.961, 1:36.717).
Would be a bit unfair for you to not gain any points from this Callaghan, especially the way Celtic's riding (that is a damn impressive time).

Yeah I agree as the whole point of this is to have a bit of fun and enjoyment :D
Anyway it be kind of cool to beat ya with your setup :P
PS anyone had the MV Brutale to race against ?
.................................................. .................................................. .............................
I've uploaded race replay so fellow Pal Users can have a look at the incident with the ai just to confirm what I stated is correct.
PS - best view is Follow view as it clearly shows the ai turns into my rear quater momentarily knocking me off balance and sending me a bit wider than intended.

Now there's taking the piss and there's taking the PISS Calla :P
callaghan 17-11-2006, 03:46 AM after doing a few races, the AI started really pissing me off. so then i went back to free practice and just tried to clean up my lines a little. i hit all the apexes just right...i thought it was actually a fairly slow lap, til i saw the third split, and then i was like..."dont blow it, just make the last three corners." lol. anywho, i promise, im working on the race now. :D
Diatribe 17-11-2006, 08:51 PM 4:45.586 (1:34.908, 1:33.961, 1:36.717).
Consider this my final time, I really havn't had the time this week to try and match/beat that.
DJ Baker 18-11-2006, 12:30 AM What kind of Crap tires are we using that are shagged within 3 laps?
callaghan 18-11-2006, 12:43 AM Spies' takeoffs...
mthielen 18-11-2006, 09:21 AM i'll have to resign from the championship as my controller is totally distroyed, when i came home yesterday from my room atthe university where i am 5 days a week is noticed that my right side of the controller (R2 +R1 button) don't work anymore and the get stuck all te time, so my rear brake is push all the time.
As soon asi get a new controller i'll entre a championship. For now i can still ride in semi-pro so i can still play TT
Good luck to everyone in the rest of the championship

I get that but manage to sort it out when it jams by gouging out the buttons with a knife/thin object (yes I know that sounds dodgy), then but put them back in after removing anything in there that may be jamming them. You can check as well if the pads underneath are still working.
CELTIC 18-11-2006, 09:53 AM I,ve gone through 3 controllers due to this usually playing Pro Evo Soccer
The little plastic stop or guide breaks off for the 'R' buttons rendering them nye on useless as they jam or fail to work.

i already tried that but it didn't work
So maybe i can break my valencia record in semi-pro mode which won't be easy as it is 1'33.603, maybe i'll go into 1'32 ;)
Diatribe 19-11-2006, 11:38 AM I'm away from my PS2 until Tuesday evening, so will upload my replay then. A shame that so few people have given this a go, seems to be getting less and less by week.
And it puts me into last place :@
mthielen 19-11-2006, 11:46 AM i would like to continue in this championship but mycontroller is broken

i'm finding this series a bit anti-climactic after the ttws, so i'm pretty much just giving each race a gentle prod :)
hopefully the next series will be a full on 10 round, free form and set up, real track rm spectacular 8O
if so, i'll be back giving a full (and hopefully fast) effort :D
DJ Baker 19-11-2006, 01:08 PM I dozed off early last night & didn't post my stunning 4'56.903 to take up my usual last place position. Sorry Diatribe. ;)
Matt W. 19-11-2006, 03:02 PM Forgot to post my time here too.
I ran like a 4:50:XXX.
If needed I can look up the exact time, but I've got a felling I'm way out of the ballpark.
The course sucks. It's way too big, and you need monumental amounts of time to learn all the tricks and lines.
es nes 19-11-2006, 03:58 PM hopefully the next series will be a full on 10 round, free form and set up, real track rm spectacular 8O
i was thinking world super sport ...
Diatribe 19-11-2006, 04:06 PM Another TTWS would be cool, with the bikes, circuits and race distances mixed up again.

Sign me up for that!
es nes 19-11-2006, 04:32 PM Another TTWS would be cool, with the bikes, circuits and race distances mixed up again.
race distances are usually varied anyways and youll be able use every bike on every round and use which ever is fastest for you per track (it was the same for the super bike series).
Sign me up for that!

DJ Baker 19-11-2006, 04:50 PM FWIW, I'd much rather pick a bike up front & stick with it for the entire series. I barely have the time (not to mention ability ;) ) to work on the Set-Up of one bike each week, let alone several. If everyone picks one bike up front, it could also make the results a little more interesting from week to week, if different bikes perform better at different tracks. Just my opinion, & you know what they say about those. ;) If you end up going the way of several bikes being available each week, I could still just pick one & stick with it.
mthielen 19-11-2006, 05:54 PM that idea sounds very good, maybe you could also work in classes, some people prefer a 600cc over a 1000cc
and the same bike for the whole series is also better, you could have a constructors championship....
Matt W. 19-11-2006, 07:30 PM Down with free form and set up. People like me, that play this game occasionally not fanatically, won't stand a chance. I've ridden bikes as hard as I could, then asked callaghan to hook me up with his set up, and the bike magically goes 2+ seconds a lap faster. No fair, IMHO.
I'd say lets stick with default rider form, and set up. Tire choice being the only option. Then we're somewhat comparing skill and determination. Not who's got most free time...
Other thing is, lets have a small displacment bike championship. Lets say 500cc limit? Then corner speed and lines will rule. Not who can get on the throttle better and keep the thing pointed stright while firing it out of a corner. I also think the lap times will be much closer, which will get more people interested.
es nes 19-11-2006, 08:07 PM that idea sounds very good, maybe you could also work in classes, some people prefer a 600cc over a 1000cc
the 1L rms were our first championship, so, well only being using the 600 rms this time.
the same bike for the whole series is also better, you could have a constructors championship....
i was planing on doing Q/race like TTSS, but, we can still have a constructors championship because im sure there will be a vareity of bikes in each round.
Matt W. - thats why im going with the 600rms. theyre all pretty close in performance and corner speed is key in getting good lap times.
CELTIC 19-11-2006, 08:24 PM sounds Reasonable es ;) going with the 600s and If anyone wants to race the 1000s Rm's or the 8Hr specials it's already happening in the various Track Replay Posts which are ongoing :D
The only downside is that Ducati don't do 600's
es nes 19-11-2006, 08:31 PM yeah, its a shame they PD didnt include a 749r rm :(
CELTIC 19-11-2006, 08:40 PM Any chance of round 4 ?
Or has Calla Got it in hand as I understands he post after work which works out here In Pal Land quite late :(
es nes 19-11-2006, 08:43 PM doh! sorry ... itll be up in a moment.
