my thoughts on the next championship:

its been suggested to run 400cc 4 strokes and 250cc 2 strokes on real world tracks. but, im not sure about that because in order to have races that both bike can use wed be limited to clubman club and sunday cups which use the short versions of real tracks and races are limited to three laps with the only other races being the 7 lap races in tt world series. obviously the 03 tz250 would be banned. also, on a more personal note, im usually underwhelmed by these 50-60hp bikes which means id be bored. iiuc, the interest in these bikes is that theyd require higher corner speeds than the litre bikes and have less hp to make up for the riders mistakes.

what im thinking is id like to run the 600 rms because they require higher corner speeds, but, still have enough hp to be interesting. teams will be the same as as they were for ttws with qualifing set up from ttss with bike selection open from round to round. track wise, wed use the five 5 lap races from the super sports 600 championship: tsubuka, deep forest, grand valley speedway, autumn ring full, and mid-field then add twin ring motegi east (3 laps clubman cup) and four 7 lap races from tt world series: laguna, suzuka, infineon, and valencia. that would bring the totals to 4 orginal circuits and 6 real world circuits.

pro controller mode only.

so, enough of my ramblings, what are your thoughts?

sounds good and i always lik the 600 cc RM's, also the tracks sound very good
some are rather technical and others are good speedy tracks.

Nice idea :D

and maybe you could also make a different ranking for pro and semi-pro. Maybe more people will join the championship. As i see it now the TTSS has only 4 riders left which is a bit low, but once semi-pro remains and the same for pro
(This is just an idea)

Sounds good, though ten straight races on the supersports may get a bit boring. Still, better than ten straight on the 250's/400's.

And pro mode aaallll the way.

CELTIC

Sounds Good to Me es :D

The Pro and Semi Pro Idea would also add a little interest as it would only Mean running In Semi Pro For an hour at the end of the week once your tuned into the track, It would also give us comparison times at most tracks so 2 seperate championships running side by side is Ok By Me ;)

es nes
26-11-2006, 04:27 PM
i wont be running a dual championship like that for simplicities sake and if we really want/need a compairson between the two modes, theres always the indivual track threads to post/compair times with.

Sounds great! Hold a spot for Backmarker Racing #13.

I'd still like to see everyone have to pick a bike at the beginning of the season & stick with it. Seems more like real racing to me. I'm fine with either way though.

Diatribe, You still planning to be on the Backmarker Racing team, or are you talking to the factory teams with your new found speed? ;)

Think I'll be sticking in the privateer class if that's okay 8O

I'll be back to all suspension settings at 1 and setting everything as extreme/stupid as possible, so I'm sure I'll live true to the team name :)

i wouldnt mind going this way either, i simply went that way because thats how the superbike series went. if the majority would like it that way, i can be that way. :)

Help me out Majority. I barely have the time, not to mention skills, to tune one bike a week, let alone 3 to 5.

callaghan

to be honest, im kinda leaning toward the "pick a bike and stick with it" idea too. i think this would be cool, because people would be setting their own bikes up, to how they like it, and there would be ample time to do so.

ello all :) seeing as t's a 10 race series, and there's 5 eligible bikes, how about?

race 01 - zx6 rm
race 02 - yzr6r m
race 03 - daytona rm
race 04 - gsxr6 rm
race 05 - cbr6 rm
race 06 - cbr6 rm
race 07 - gsxr6 rm
race 08 - daytona rm
race 09 - yzr6 rm
race 10 - zx6 rm

that way there's only one bike a week to tune, and they still all get used :D

or if the 'pick and stick' method gets decided, i'll go for the kwak 8O

ZX6R-RM for me ta 8O

to celtic: if you want to team up again, it's going to be on the kwak

if you fancy a different bike, and therefore want to team up with someone else, that's cool :)

to anyone: if the above happens and someone else wants to team up with me on the ZX6, let me know here or by pm :D

DJ Baker

I realize I could just use the same bike week to week, if that's all I had time for. Just thought it would be more fair & interesting if everyone had to. Real racers don't switch bikes week to week, except maybe Kurtis Roberts lately.

750F's idea is interesting, but in my initial evaluations the Honda & Triumph require too much work & they're still slower. Good picks for Calla. ;) He can even use my Set-Up.

By the way, instead of 600SS the series should be 600SC, for Stupid Chicanes. Pretty much every track has a chicane like set of turns to deal with. Should seperate the Men from the Boys, or at least the Men from Me.

I'd be more than happy to race again with you DJ, though I don't have a clue what bike we'd have, up to you. I'd have to do some testing before deciding what I'm fastest on.

And it doesn't matter what goes on on here really, you're probably the quickest guy on here in real life, easily. And you have the best list of bikes to be jealous of.

Looks like Backmarker Racing will be back in action in it's original form!

As far as which bike, I'll keep you posted on my testing. So far the Zuk, Yam, & Kaw are all pretty close. I'm trying to figure out which one is most consistent & responsive to my tuning efforts. Let me know what you find out.

I put a vote in for starting the week after the TTSS finishes. I personally don't see a need to allow two weeks for the races the weeks of Xmas & New Years though. I should have more time those weeks than I would on a normal week. Plus, both holidays are on Mondays, so if we stick with the Saturday night deadline, the only thing that would have to happen around the holidays is that you organizer types would have to post the results & the next races. I'm guessing nobody would get too riled up if the results were posted a day or two late, since we can basically figure it out on our own. And maybe the next races could even be posted a day or two early during that timeframe, if it would be easier on you guys.

es nes
30-11-2006, 12:07 AM
well, i went with the 2 weeks for the holidays because i dont know who does what when and purhapes one or more person might be going out of town and be out for a while.

DJ Baker

Here's something to think about... Since qualifying usually ends up being only between a few people, how about having everyone have to submit times for qualifying & the race each week & places/points would be based on the total? That would force those of us that usually pass on qualifying to spend some time on it. Top qualifier would still get an extra point of course.

CELTIC
01-12-2006, 03:27 PM
That's Where your going wrong DJ - as I allways go to TT Free Practice and race my fastest replay Ghost and then once up to speed go and run the Respective Race :D

That way you just have to post your fastest ghost replay at the end of the week as your Qualifier ;)

I do the same thing, just not to the same extent. I'll do some initial tuning in practice mode, but "up to speed" is a relative term. I know I'm not going to be able to hang with you guys in qualifying no matter how much time I spend on it, so I prefer to spend the time that I have available on the races. A lot of my tuning gets done between races attempts.

Hey what about the Aprillia 1000 and F4 1000? Could those be compared with the 600's based on the way they behave in the game?
