Interesting.. Shame though that there wasn't enough interest/couldn't get enough backing to get back into GP's. Or that his name isn't Chavo Davizze. Or something.
It's a shame that he's not going to be in GP next season but with any luck he'll do well in the US and then move on to bigger and better things in the future. Good luck to him.

IMO It's the best move he could of made with a new start.
IF he took a GP ride it would of only been another uncompetitive ride and another season lost.
Looks like a last minute decision was made to get Chaz on the Ilmor bike, so he spent yesterday and presumably is spending today testing in Jerez. Link (http://www.crash.net/news_view~t~Chaz-to-test-for-Ilmor-~cid~6~id~140791.htm).
I'd be surprised if anything came of it, but it's interesting that they've asked him to come and give it a try. I would assume that if Chaz can put in a good showing then he'll be keeping his chances of a future MotoGP ride alive and potentially even line up in 2007 if he really impresses, as neither of the Ilmor seats are confirmed yet.
MotoGP veteran Jeremy McWilliams has sustained multiple injuries during a nasty fall from the Ilmor X3, while testing at Jerez on Thursday afternoon.
McWilliams - who is hoping to secure a grand prix comeback next season with Mario Illien's new team - suffered fractures to his left femur and right collarbone plus 'serious injuries' to the fingers of his left hand. The 42-year-old Ulsterman was quickly taken to Jerez Hospital where he is expected to undergo surgery by Monday at the latest.
Thursday marked the final day of MotoGP track action before the winter testing ban starts on December 1.

I wonder if that will affect things at all...
