mthielen 10-12-2006, 08:35 PM i'll post an aiming time for the quali, i don't know if it's fast but we'll see
0'58.554 i think this one will easely be broken as i mostly tested on Valencia this weekend which resulted in a new record time
DJ Baker 10-12-2006, 08:37 PM It's On! Officially!
This should be a great series. Some new teams & fairly comparable bikes, so hopefully some close racing. I'm shooting for some better than my usual last place finishes. ;)
Good Luck & Good Racing!
DJ don't u worry about last place, I think this time
it's reserved for me:redface: , but anyway i'll try my best8O
CELTIC 11-12-2006, 02:07 AM So Far Qualifier
57:987 I'm Happy to break into the 57's this early :D
BTW es New improved Header with no double grid places and cleaned up a little ;) when you have time will you please update thanks :D
Hopefully es the second one is up to your very high standard :P
You were right es the first one is pretty poor
es nes 11-12-2006, 02:58 AM i hate to be picky, but, woul,d it be possible to have a slightly higher quality pic? seems a bit pixely. or is that how they came out of the ps2?
DJ Baker 11-12-2006, 04:32 AM Es,
Is Qualifying going to count for anything for anyone except the Pole Sitter? If not, I'll spend what time I have on the race, since I'm not going to be able to touch Celtic's 0'57, let alone how much lower it might go.
Diatribe 11-12-2006, 10:31 AM 58.340 so far in qualifying.
Got quite a nice set up now and have worked out some new lines, but don't think I'm going to be able to come close to matching Celtic. Only a couple more tenths there for me.
CELTIC 11-12-2006, 10:32 AM es I'll sort picture tonight, Probably set sharpen setting a little harsh - It should be ok for header though as your reducing size, But on the other hand if we are downloading as a wallpaper it will probably show a little.
Personally I thought the sharpness made it look a little 3d ish so i'll edit post with another picture tonight so everyone can have a choice of the two ;)
Yeah I agree you are being picky :P but i think what your seeing is where the bikes overlap theres a slight ring of grey especially around Diatribe with Matt W behind him - I'll cut in a little more and slightly blur the join and this should cure the problem and i'll also save on the highest setting ;)

750F-RM 11-12-2006, 08:54 PM ello all :) ahh it's great to be back on the rm's, after those flabby road bikes  not sure if i can qualify much better, so i'll

-Decado- 12-12-2006, 06:47 PM Guys...
I have finals this week (college). So I dont know if I can do anything for this race... plus for some reason I've lost interest in even playing TT after doing a lot of practice laps. :?
Maybe I'll come back, maybe I wont. Dont think I'm quitting though, I just.... I dont know. I think the exams are really screwing with my head, and I cant seem to enjoy or focus on the game.
mthielen 12-12-2006, 06:59 PM ithink i save my tyres to much during the first 4 laps as i'm 0.8 sec faster in the last then CELTIC

I'd like to see you catch me then. No one has been able to keep up with me on the last lap so far. 8O
P.S.: How do you know if I was telling the truth of not? Hmmm? lol
I wonder, at wich corner do you catch second bike?
-Decado- 13-12-2006, 09:53 PM You know that big tire that sticks up out of the ground? It's usually at the exit the second corner in that small chicane.
Edit: All on the first lap that is.
I catch him at the same point and I'm having real problems trying to pass
I pass the last bike right before the finish line
-Decado- 13-12-2006, 10:19 PM Hm... do you mean on the same lap or second lap? And you mean second bike as in the bike in second place before you pass it, right? My grid goes like this sometimes:
4th: Me
3rd: 600RR RM
2nd: Daytona 650 RM
1st: ZX6R RM

4th: Me
3rd: ZX6R RM
2nd: R6 RM
1st: 600RR RM
Hm... do you mean on the same lap or second lap? And you mean second bike as in the bike in second place before you pass it, right?

callaghan 14-12-2006, 08:18 PM tried some qualifying today. i am really sick, so im all doped up on medicines, like codine and such. did get a 58.527 out of the cbr though. havent really felt good enough to race, lol. i really am quite surprised that all these bikes are that close to each other. it will be interesting to see if one bike really is better than all the others, or if each excels at different tracks.
DJ Baker 14-12-2006, 08:43 PM I don't think Calla should be allowed to race under the influence of mind altering drugs. Especially considering that he's a few tenths faster than me on a bike that I've lovingly referred to as a Turd. ;) Actually, during my preseason tests the CBR was one of the better turning bikes & worked pretty well at Tsukuba. Good luck elsewhere though, not that you'll need it.

es nes 15-12-2006, 12:46 AM the cbr6rr rm is a decent bike, stable and mild engine, but, boring to ride which is why i went with the r6. fels more like a big tz250 :D
callaghan 15-12-2006, 01:04 AM by boring, i assume you mean easy? and easy means fast...
im not sure which would be faster, the TZ or the R6?
-Decado- 15-12-2006, 01:21 AM I think the R6 is faster. I don't like the R6 now that I've tried the R600, it's an awfully twitchy bike and I prefer something smoother.
es nes 15-12-2006, 01:40 AM by boring, i assume you mean easy? and easy means fast...
im not sure which would be faster, the TZ or the R6?
more like, lacking personality ...
my r6 rm lap at nordschliefe is a 7'05 and my fastest tz250 is a 7'03 while at grand valley full i did 1'55.8 with the r6 and a 1'56 on the tz250 so ...
[edit - in practice my best lap so far has been a 58.7 but im having trouble repeatedably breaking the 59 mark. im not quite sure of my lines either. if i carry more speed in then i lose time out and most of the track is made of hairpins]
Matt W. 15-12-2006, 03:06 AM Well, I've ran a 59 flat, but consistency is a whole another issue.
I don't seem to know what is a "good" lap. No particular lines seem to be the perfect line, I just kind of wing it.
es nes 15-12-2006, 03:38 AM consistant 59's arent a problem, breaking them is ... lol.
suzukibiker 15-12-2006, 07:44 AM consistant 59's arent a problem, breaking them is ... lol.
Don`t worry guys! To me it`s just the same. It`s all a question of time that we don`t really have. Am I right when I say tomorrow at midnight is deadline?
I would like that everyone in the championship has to upload a best race replay not only podium finishers. There will be no way of cheating then. It`s for those who are not so close to the podium struggling for every point.
Diatribe 15-12-2006, 04:40 PM What's the verdict on this guys? Coming out of the hairpin onto the back straight, on lap 1 (considering the AI has a habit of doing this as well)...
CELTIC 15-12-2006, 04:51 PM I would say its fine as you have overun the curb - es will allow 1 or 2 misdemeanors like the one above in the race but if it's every lap that would be different, and then there is the Qualifiers which have to be 100% clean :D
Matt W. 15-12-2006, 05:00 PM Personally to me that's a DQ. I've aborted runs because of a misque like that. That's strickly on the principle of "If this was real life pic, you'd end up on your ass". I think the first two pics are acceptable, but the third one, you're defenitally errr...pushing it.
My humble opinion of course.
If that's considered "game" with the powers to be, I'm okay with that. I'll just keep it in mind while I'm racing.
Diatribe 15-12-2006, 05:15 PM The second and third pics are at the same point, just different angles. If too many people object then don't worry, I've got another time only a couple of tenths slower. Hopefully I'll improve if I get the time tomorrow anyway :D
Would rather do this though than submit that run as final, and then get DQ'd.
CELTIC 15-12-2006, 05:48 PM Matt W does have a point about real life scenario so it's over to the ttwso board ;)
Anyway Diatribe i'm sure you will beat it before the deadline :P
-Decado- 15-12-2006, 05:55 PM A new qualifier... but:
(What do you guys think?)
Matt W. 15-12-2006, 05:56 PM Matt W does have a point about real life scenario so it's over to the ttwso board ;)
Keep in mind that if he was more upright {thought still off the track}, I'd say it's 100% fair game. Because in professional road racing you'll see guys go off the track pretty far and keep on going. But not with that kind of lean angle. Anyways, my 2 cents and a cracker.
Either way is fine by me, really.
Matt W. 15-12-2006, 05:57 PM A new qualifier... but:
(What do you guys think?)
Now that one is just plain too tought to call. I'll let the mods do their job.
I'd be inclined to say that's "clean".
CELTIC 15-12-2006, 06:06 PM A new qualifier... but:
(What do you guys think?)
If that's the full extent of the off Decado as it looks to me that rubber is still in contact with curb on both wheels.... so yeah fine by me ;)
BTW stop wasting my time :P
-Decado- 15-12-2006, 06:12 PM O.k., it was all that I saw. Better make a better one just in case.
My new time: 4'55.929 :D
callaghan 15-12-2006, 06:22 PM Diatribe, im sorry, but i have to say that if you were more upright, i might let it slide, but considering how close this competition is, and the lean angle while on the grass (of which i do believe in RL you would have fallen off...) then i will say that run is DQ'd.
Decado, if that is part of your qualifying run, well, it states in the first post that the qualifying runs need to be 100% clean. again, sorry. however; this would be considered ok for a "race moment."
-Decado- 15-12-2006, 06:30 PM Buggers.
*Edit*: I got a new qualifier, 0'58.271, 100% clean.

Congratulation to Celtic!!
Diatribe 16-12-2006, 11:06 PM Despite my earlier rant, boredom has prevailed and I've improved to 4:55.357. Thought it would be worth the extra effort as I really don't get on with Infineon. So...

es nes 16-12-2006, 11:53 PM becarefull at infineon, im finding its really easy to ruin a q lap on the back es'
Diatribe 17-12-2006, 12:00 AM I honestly can't remember running 2 consecutive laps where I've taken the two uphill left/rights cleanly at full pace. You so easily get thrown offline to the far right hand side of the track, God knows how I'll manage that 7 times in a row and with worn tyres.
Will start running there tomorrow I s'pose, then am off to Milan on Tuesday for a few days :D
-Decado- 17-12-2006, 12:44 AM New time: 4'54.997
Edit: God damn it I didnt save the replay, fucking stupid.
CELTIC 17-12-2006, 12:54 AM OOOooooh Decado your getting a little too close for comfort :?
1 chicken.... 2 chicken.... 3 chicken.... 4
Don't count though as I have my fingers crossed behind my back :P
Are we still waiting on Calla and Matt W Ragged Edge Racing
And DJ :?

Edit: God damn it I didnt save the replay, f***ing stupid.
Thats one hard highside Decado........ will he get back up and recover with 3Hrs to go ?
I'm totally Gobsmacked by that - that's one hard lesson to learn man :wall:
-Decado- 17-12-2006, 12:55 AM Yeah and now I cant even attempt to get in one decent lap. Every damn time I get something good and it goes wrong I cant get anything. I hate this bullshit.
callaghan 17-12-2006, 01:16 AM i did that at the suzuka round 2 series ago. forgot to save the replay...and i know i had the speed, so i just clicked on start new race...thinking it was like the free practice, and it would remember my best time...
yes celtic, you are waiting for matt and i to turn our times in. but rest assured, i will turn in a time, but i dont think as fast as the top few are doing.
-Decado- 17-12-2006, 01:23 AM I have a new one: 4'55.349

Honestly, it's not as clean as I thought it was, so it's up you guys. Either way is cool with me, but I can't put another time in.
I don't have the time to. Wife has the TV.

Tried like hell to get a race in with every lap under 1'00, & eventually did but it was slower than the one posted above overall.
es nes 17-12-2006, 06:11 AM got your time with 5 minutes to spare, dj

Diatribe 17-12-2006, 12:58 PM Was a good round that, very enjoyable and good to see 3 different bikes on the podium. Was nice to challenge up the front for once but that may have been a bit of a one off as I seem to go better there than a lot of other tracks.
And again, congrats Celtic! Not just a win but a blitz :)
Think you've just about proven yourself to be the best all round racer on here now. Though it'd be interesting to see how Callaghan would do here on another bike.
callaghan 17-12-2006, 01:38 PM man, i hate this track. too small for my liking, and i am just now starting to get over the flu. had it this whole week...go figure. ill be back for the next round, so you guys should watch your backs...(though infineon isnt a strong track for me either)
im going riding today, so i wont be able to put up a points board til at least tonight, but it will probably be tomorrow.
diatribe: i put in three races, the first two the damn ai kept pushing me out of the way in t4. and this was a pretty lazy attempt at that, i might try a better go later this week just to see if i could have had a top spot, but i dont think i could have matched celtic's awesome time.
CELTIC 17-12-2006, 04:16 PM Thanks for the comments lads :D
As I explained to Decado anyone who run in the last round of the TTSS had a slight advantage as we had just raced @ Tsukuba ;)
and Calla I'm really sorry to hear that your over your FLU
I'll keep an eye out for the RED FLASH :P
And a big thanks to my Team Mate "THE DOCTOR - HAZARD" who keeps coming up with settings ;)
-Decado- 17-12-2006, 05:29 PM Eh, I'm still not happy. I could've had 2nd place but I didnt save the replay. My hands were so tired after doing that race time, I was quite happy. Then I didnt save it so I had no chance at getting it at all, and my hands still hurt.
DJ Baker 17-12-2006, 07:03 PM Thanks for the comments lads :D Much Deserved Kudos!
As I explained to Decado anyone who run in the last round of the TTSS had a slight advantage as we had just raced @ Tsukuba ;) Didn't seem to do me much good.

And a big thanks to my Team Mate "THE DOCTOR - HAZARD" who keeps coming up with settings ;)Ditto on the Teammate Kudos! If not for pestering Diatribe with PMs, I would have Sucked even more than I did. ;)
I'm with you on the sore hands thing Decado. I had to break my riding up into shorter sessions. I keep trying to hang on more loosely, but it never seems to last very long.
callaghan 18-12-2006, 05:02 PM upon investigating Matt W.'s replay, it has been deemed too dirty for the rules, therefore, his time has been disqualified. sorry dude.
-Decado- 18-12-2006, 05:20 PM upon investigating Matt W.'s replay, it has been deemed too dirty for the rules, therefore, his time has been disqualified. sorry dude.
Why bother? It's to late. He is last place anyways.
callaghan 18-12-2006, 05:29 PM because its fair to everyone, and also, that would be five more points for our team, and five points for him. also, replays are often verified after the round is over. many people ask qustions during the round, but if there is a discrepency that i find after the round (which is when i verify replays), then they can still be DQ'd.
Hey, where are all the replays?, I think everyone should upload it
750F-RM 18-12-2006, 08:59 PM upon investigating Matt W.'s replay, it has been deemed too dirty for the rules, therefore, his time has been disqualified. sorry dude.
purely idle curiosity on my part, what did he do?
Matt W. 18-12-2006, 09:25 PM purely idle curiosity on my part, what did he do?
The big thing is I ran wide out of turn one, pretty bad. Kind of like Diatribe did next to last turn, eariler in this thread.
Callaghan reviewed it at my house, we both agreed it was not in the spirit of the rules of I didn't get DQ'd.
It's no big deal guys. I am still learning anyways, and having fun with it. I was stupid and didn't review my run before I put it in.
I assumed it was a clean run, it wasn't.
