I've tried a few laps on my R1 RM, and my best is 2'06.467...
I think it could even go to 2'05.xxx ;)
Stay tuned

Honda 7 Seven Star 8hr 2'08.882 ( medium )

NO SHORTCUTS/CHEATING , respecting the race track (NO TRICKS) my best time so far at this track !

suspension ALL 5/5's ( shock , spring, etc etc , medium tires , default gearing )

i think i can chop another half to a 1 second off ( i did one mistake pushing the front in turn 11 or 12 right before the back straight )

indeed it can :D i had a 2:05.990 yesterday, but puffed up a little too much dust on one of the turns to imo be clean enough to enter

I have a slightly different view to that clean or not clean laps than the guys in the championship...
I wouldn't take it so hard to DQ the lap if you touch the grass, only if you gain some extra time with it... So my opinion is if you cut the chicanes (by which your time gets faster) than the lap should be DQ, but if you only thouch a grass when comming out of an usual corner than I would say it's clean - it can only slower your time, and btw it happened a milion of time in moto gp and they don't get DQ. ;)

dario - the only limits in the championship really is this:

would i have crashed in real life?

how far off course. i prefer not to go over 3 rear tyres width because that could appear to be cutting a corner/corners.

hi all :) gave it a good push earlier. too much maybe, because the lap wasn't as smooth as it could have been

anyways, new pb from me

t1 - 0:55.055
t2 - 1:41.385

lap - 2:05.818

there's a 2:05.5xx in there on the duke i think, which means there's 2:04 for someone on one of the 8hr hondas

I've got a clean 2'05.0 on the 7 Honda but I'm not very happy with it.

I want a 2'04.5 but struggle to avoid cutting corners, especially the last chicane. It seems that if you don't use the full width of the ripple strips there then your time goes out the window :(

130R has me a little stumped too.

750F-RM
11-02-2007, 08:56 AM
ello :) you seem to be going ok, despite your worries sonic :D

here's the video of my current pb - 750frm/suzuka/999rm/2:05.818 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rTsHjwSwxj0)

more to come from the duke i think, before i venture out on the 7 honda

es nes

just make sure you arent over using that first chicane, 750 ;)

750F-RM
11-02-2007, 03:26 PM
i'm well within the 3 rear tyre widths you mentioned earlier, nes ;)

mthielen

seems ok to me too, it's not that he cutted the whole chicane and he won't have won half a second or so

I agree...

This lap is really clean.
But in this case I wouldn't stick to the three tyre rule cause it's a chicane and every, even little touch on the grass, gives you much time. So in my opinion everything that is over this limit should be Dq... :D

750F-RM
11-02-2007, 04:37 PM
my next pb will be completely within that chicane :)

sonic_blue
11-02-2007, 07:14 PM
I thought the chicane was ok, it was like 1 tyre width.

But maybe for the sake of fairness we should make the edge of the ripple strips the boundary? That way we would all be on a level playing field and noone can complain.

yeah, it wasnt anything id dq you for in a race :P

Congrats 750 that's a totally sick time there mate :D

and you stated your now taking all this a little easier these days

750F-RM
13-02-2007, 09:10 AM
cheers teamy :D i reckon there's a few 10ths left in the lap with the duke yet, but it's getting hard now

and yeah, you can try too hard at this kind of thing, definately. that lap for example was part of a quite
brief session of about 15-20 minutes

i find that once i start getting over the 1/2 hour mark, i get a bit tense, and i won't get decent times in
that frame of mind

good to see you're still around :)

mthielen
19-02-2007, 11:32 PM
ok i tried this one for half an hour on the 7 star honda, the result was amazing

2'04.964

CELTIC

Nice one Mt ;)

But using 750F's Duke time as a bench mark there's probably another second or more to come from the 7 Star, the Valencia times just go to show how much can be chopped off as I for one never thought I would see 32's this soon :D if at all !!!

mthielen
20-02-2007, 09:17 AM
yea here's the same, i realy thought i was maxed at my low 1'33

but now i'm almost a half second faster and i think one day i'll go even faster and probably so will someone else

i havn't heard their version, but it's been covered a lot. originally performed by the bobby fuller four i think, and covered
by (among others no doubt) the crickets, kris kristoferson, the clash. the version i used is by status quo

it's a bit of a standard nowadays, for anyone who plays guitar. a friend and i used to give it a whirl on the weekends :D

a classic 3 chord trick, pick your key and you're away 8O
